  2. On TexAgs the majority opinion (vast majority) is that they played like champions prior to Elko's raise and, with remarkable timing, they failed to play like the champions they are against USCe, t.u. (mediocre team), and Miami. Maybe the biggest example of what constant self-congratulatory narcissism means with Aggies is their aversion to the word lose. It's not just games they won't use the word (outscored, instead), but they refer to losing efforts as underachieving. The notion here is that with only a little more passion (displayed for all to see) or a little less interference from the t.u. controlled referee establishment or disappointing coaching performance, they would be revealed as the champions they already are. The offense wasn't stopped. Klein had his mind elsewhere and didn't care. That's largely the reason Reed "regressed" as the season proceeded and melted down against good competition. Further, with their huge talent advantage (in their heads), they should be in the title hunt every year. You take over coaching at Texas, Notre Dame, tOSU, Alabama, or USC, you expect that expectation and perception. There is truth in it. At A&M, they don't recognize that they're still Michigan State or maybe Iowa. Because of the Aggie attitude, they end up making crazy deals with coaches. Why else would a promising or established coach go there? And cannot stand the notion that nobody really gives a shit about them unless they pay attention. Then people learn what a weird place that is.
  3. I'm generally a very chill, relaxed individual when driving/walking since I moved out of the Mad Max hellscape that is Houston But the minute I stepped off the plane into IAH, I was swerving, bumping, grumbling, etc. at all the fucking unaware cattle doing this exact thing.
  4. It definitely was out of his control, some evil person kept pouring that booze down his throat and putting that booger sugar in his nose.
  5. Speaking of…. Has anyone ever seen BO&W and Bloodworth post at the same time?
  6. I thought that terrain in the background of your pics looked familiar.
  7. We straddle Coleman and Runnels county. Big toads out there and the weather has been fairly mild so far. Dropped off out big-8 with the boy and there were some monsters at Hall Processing in Coleman the previous weekend.
  8. Exactly how I feel about it Do I like it? No Do I care? No Did they deserve it? Hell yeah, they went through the prohibitive season-long favorite (on the road), against the likely NPOY and then against a team that kicked their ass during the regular season. Good for them Now go finish our work in the portal and get ready for 2026. Where Texas should be a favorite to win it all.
  9. I don’t think the face was the focus of the type of film that @ztejas was referencing.
  10. I can't recall why, but I took government in summer school with a football coach who had just moved to Texas from New Mexico. He announced that fact on the first day of class, stating something to the effect of: "Well, I'm supposed to teach you kids about Texas government, but I just moved here from New Mexico, and all I can say is, 'We have one.'" Then, I think we just moved on to US government.

  14. It's a really bad home non-conf schedule for fans, except I guess the OKST midweek and Baylor. Our best non-conf games (Nebraska, UW, Arizona, Stanford) are all away from home. Though Nebraska and UW are just a short trip down 35. Granted, our fans get to see aggy, OU, arky, which is good And our trip to Lexington is good, solely so we have some experience in the ballpark for the SEC tournament being hosted by UK this year
  15. It was also a dozen back then, too.
  16. Why does A&M always lose? Is it just bad luck?
  17. Oh Thank Heaven for 7-Eleven!

  20. I tried to get one of our coaches to take the test BEFORE we started the chapters and see if he could beat any of us on it, with a wager of extra workout reps in the balance. He never took us up, and he absolutely would have lost because he was the biggest dumb jock in the history of coaches teaching history. Best math teacher I had until college was also a coach though too. That sumbeech should NOT have been coaching. He should have been making more kids love mafs.

  22. Jabari was -20 last night, and generally played like shit all week. Hopefully it’s an aberration, but as the Game Theory guys expertly laid out, Jabari’s contract has value if he’s the 4th or 5th best player on the team, but if he’s the 7th best player on the team it’s a bad deal. Players better than Jabari right now: Alpie KD Amen Reed Adams
  23. I wish Hill would’ve came back next season with the Muschamp news! I think Will would’ve used him like we see the LB from Georgia being used. Coming off the edge. Think Hill could have developed into a top 15 pick instead of a day two pick. not saying he’s a day two pick but I don’t see him on many 1st round mocks but things could change
  24. Just a side note regarding a nuance that was a personal experience. I'm the last of the boomers, and I went to a big public high school where 20 or so kids were applying to the Ivy's and the service academies. It was the absolute peak period of college admissions affirmative action. (A guy at one of the service Academy's told me that the only thing they wanted more than me (Hispanic male) was a black woman. In any case, I got into every school I applied to. (Harvard was my safety.) I had a really great Jewish friend who was slightly above me in grades but not really great on the extracurriculars. I had a couple of other relatively comparable white friends who either didn't get in or didn't get the ai package they were looking for. None of them has every shown any envy or expressed any sentiment that I didn't get in on my own merits. None of them have shown any evidence of any racial preference bitterness. But I think two things can be true about them and about other generations - they can both 1) not have a racist bone in their bone and 2) have at least one experience in their lives where they felt that they got the short end of the stick based on race. The former might guide their social choices. The later their political choices.
