Ferrari has been fucking up since... Cable TV. LeClerc underperforms, it's the team and car... Hamilton (who is 6th in WDC in a new car with a new team) underperforms and he's washed. When Hamilton joined Ferrari, my son said, "What is he thinking? He's going to ruin the end of his career " Hell, Hamilton could be degraded as a driver (probably is). But how would anyone know given how mid to terrible Ferrari has been for decades? They can't even keep LeClerc happy with his car and he's been there for years. There should be zero question about what a winning car looks like for him. They shouldn't need to destroy the car trying goofy changes on race day. He's been in the car since 2019. He's been a driver with them since 2016... And they can't get it right. 2022 could have been a thing, if the car could finish races. 9 poles. 3 wins. They're coming up on 20 years of futility. Who has fallen off more this season, Max or Lewis? Max isn't washed. Sometimes the team can't get out of their own way. Ferrari. "I don't think we'll finish on the podium." Ferrari woes are not driver-based.

Exactly- and usually they expect to make money on exit or structuring and choose to operate at a loss- which is to say they build long term equity on a tax-efficient basis.

I have a '65 Volvo I think you really need. -
That’s great. Good call on the planning. The closest thing I have to resemble your example was 2017. Day 1: Fly to Philly. Astros vs Phillies Day 2: Bus to NYC. Day 3: Subway to Yankee Stadium. Yankees vs Rays Day 4: Drive to Cooperstown Day 5: Hall of Fame induction day (Bagwell, Rock Raines, Pudge Rodriguez, John Schuerholz, f Selig) Day 6: Drive to Boston. Red Sox vs Indians Day 7: Fly home

Well, Americans might look at Swedish engineered products with a bit of puzzlement, the Swedes know what they're doing (I'm talking about you, Saab, among others). -

In my experience small business owners and entrepreneurs are a lot like lawyers- smart and usually well meaning people who are extremely adept in a focused way, but sort of blinkered by their own business conditions and easily surprised by realities outside. -
That doesn’t make much sense in the grand scheme of the way things work in pro sports. Most of the other leagues have some revenue split with players, that revenue is part of what drives valuations as well as player pay. Using the Lakers as the example is an outlier because of the franchise itself, but you can look at the valuation of the lower tier teams and what they have increased along with the overall cost of entry/expansion. Most of the people entering ownership now aren’t doing it for hobby purposes, teams are investments they they expect to continue to increase in value which comes from revenue growth.

Astros about to get swept by the Red Sox. Also looking like we are going to catch the Yankees at a great time.

I think one of the things that appeals about Low Men in Yellow Coats is Bobby. King really writes children well, at least for nostalgic adults. I am rereading Dreamcatcher for the first time since it came out. I enjoyed the shitweasel part at the beginning quite well on first read, but had kind of hazy unpleasant memories of the rest of it. I know King doesn't like it much as his first writing after the accident, supposedly written in a haze of pain and painkillers. I am quite enjoying it though. I think it's his introduction of the concept of the mind and memories being like a giant file room that can be access-controlled in some instances. That notion was used to good effect in Doctor Sleep, I thought, and, to me, is a very apt analogy.

Right. You’re just outraged by the fact that the employees of their long term Investment are asking for raises, despite the fact that it’s not run-rate profitable.
-
On its “merit?” Lolololol. If it didn’t exist on its merit, it wouldn’t exist. You just don’t agree with the people who pay the bills about what the merit of the league is. And you don’t have to. Do you understand business at all?

Despite voting for Trump, the guy acquits himself reasonably on the podcast. The above, though, shows why he voted for Trump and is a galactic dumbass. Also, funny thing, a lot of heavy industries have survived in socialistic countries like Sweden, while ours have gone to the dogs. Things that make you go hmmm. -

They’ll hit our asking price and offer him untold riches but I wouldn’t blame Darwin if he turned them down. He’s 26 and wants to play Champions League football; not play in the Ronaldo retirement league. -
He didn't really melt down. It was shitty luck and bad defense. One hard hit ball.
