  1. Past hour
  2. I saw clip of it, and it's verbatim from the interview.
  3. Go look at the list of pro players whose daughters are playing or played NCAAVB Spears Skinner O’Neal Duncan Ewing Booth Jurevicious Rondo
  4. production, athleticism, positional fit (SDEs don't typically go rounds 1/2)
  5. this is not directed at you but is a general statement: I don't have an issue with 3% (we probably should expect 3%+ for the next couple of decades to inflate our way out of a debt crisis) but the visibility is that prices are still rising after skyrocketing several years before. they are, at a modest rate, higher than the fed wants, but not terribly high. but the idea that eggs are going to get back to "cheap" prices is a non-starter. price increases from inflation are not reversing because inflation is under control. I don't know how long it will take for the consumer to feel re-calibrated again but I'm not surprised it isn't now. * at this point gov't statistics are no longer reliable so who knows what's real anymore.
  6. I definitely attended youth services in high school because there were cute girls there. Both of the preacher's daughters ended up pregnant (not by me), so it seemed like good times were being had, and I didn't want to miss out. Alas, the church angle did not overcome my lack of game, and I eventually wandered out into broader pastures in my search for fun.
  7. It is a natural progression. This was unthinkable up until the time when these athletic departments are all suddenly on the hook to start paying players while operating at a deficit or break even. Why do you think Private Equity has suddenly and stupidly become an option? The CFP and major bowls represent one of the few options for additional revenue to the schools that haven't been tapped. In the arms race, it will cost more and more money to maintain top rosters and make it into that field. It is only a matter of time before tOSU, Bama, Georgia, Oregon, Texas, etc start looking around and wondering why they have to split their playoff and bowl money with Mississippi State, Purdue, and Rutgers. I was a year ahead of saying that playoff expansion was going to ultimately kill conference title games. I expect conference culling will be the next step, especially if networks start to get behind the idea of any type of a super league. The P12 blew apart because TV networks did not believe that schools like Washington State, Oregon State, and Cal deserved premium revenue to air their games just because they were in conference. They weren't wrong. In the next round of TV negotiations, they will be looking to drive down revenue outlays to conferences due to the money they are spending on the playoffs. That will put pressure on the pot of money going to each school, and in the absence of growth, there will be cuts to keep the top teams whole. But you go ahead and bet on status quo. It worked out great for George Kliavkoff.
  8. Tell me you’re unfamiliar with expense report handling in large organizations without telling me you’re unfamiliar with expense report handing in large organizations.
  9. I was told Democratic Party were the party of papers please.
  10. Beck’s AI George Washington, lulz
  11. “Americans must learn to adjust to a lower standard of living.” Did Trump really say this at that rally last night? https://www.salon.com/2025/12/10/trumps-return-to-maga-rallies-is-a-flop/
  12. This is your party man.
  13. It's kind of interesting how the daughters of pro athletes are achieving prominence along with their post-career Dads. I suppose this is a naturally occurring phenomenon, but it seems more prominent in volleyball than WBB, for instance. Or softball. Or is it that I just don't pay quite as much attention?
  14. Rice should try this....
  15. trending up or down, it's still too high for what the fed says they want, that's just not debatable. the other fact is that price increases are cumulative as we all know, after 2+ years of historically high inflation (not runaway inflation mind you) it's going to take several years of sub three percent inflation for consumers to be able to truly adjust. add higher interest rates for credit cards, cars, impact of locked in low or higher new mortgages and other cost increases and it's obvious consumers/families are still feeling the pain. so people feel like inflation is still high. as for whether it's going up or down, seems fairly stable from the data, but not sure that's reliable anymore.
  16. Today's quarter point cut won't matter. The market catalyst will be the dot plot and Powell's speech and QA session starting at 1:30p. We should trend hawkish over the next few months but we'll see how much collective spine these people have.
  17. First CD was Oasis (What's The Story) Morning Glory. I was 7 years old, liked Wonderwall on the radio, and demanded my parents buy it I think my first cassette I think was Matchbox 20 Yourself or Someone Like You. Again, I was 7, so cut me some slack. Not sure why I insisted on a CD for Oasis and a cassette for this one First LP was much later in life. Pet Sounds for about $5 at half price books in Dallas Can't be 100% sure on first download, but probably Horse With No Name by Neil Young, Walkin in Memphis by Bruce Springsteen, or Mrs. Robinson by The Beatles.
  18. I thought he was happy with UT per reports. Saw him play against aggy too. I'm guessing this is bullshit from Georgia $9.95'ers wishcasting like we did for years with Evan Stewart.
  19. So a guy from Georgia, who at one time was committed to Georgia, and who had Georgia as his #2 choice when he signed with Texas - if he enters the portal, he would probably go to Georgia. Got it.
  20. Atmospheric river originating in the Philippines has been hitting western Washington all week; nearly all rivers on this side of the state will reach all-time record flood stages this evening. Six million people are under flood watches or warnings (fortunately we have a LOT of hills, but the valleys are getting hammered).
  21. Yeah, so even though being actual Christians probably doesn't hold much appeal to high school teens, and politics certainly doesn't, these kinds of organizations can attract members by other means, basically "cool kids" or "hot chicks" or just "joiners." Of course, in our time, there weren't these social media incels, either. Then again, how many of them really join anything, except social media mobs?
  22. Not sure amounts of money they spend doesn’t mean they aren’t poorly run as well.
