Wow. Those two are wholely unqualified to lead ACC let alone the UT system.

I guess I’m not following, with the animating word from your original post compel as the part I’m stuck on. I would have a philosophical distinction between the religious morals, exemplified by Christian ethics, to that of the enlightening ethics, which harken more to Greek or classical ethics. I’m a poor scholar in this regard, but the founders lived in a time in which the classical ethics were popular amongst the elites and comprise much of the foundation for our rights as described in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. You seem to advocate Christian ethics, but not if they are the sole basis for law or regulations, is that correct? Talarico should not use Christian ethics to create law except when it coincides with secular ethics (which might be utilitarianism, consequentialism, etc.)?

neither of these are acceptable, I demand more.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Yeah, but he played wacky music over Sark saying the exact same thing Smart said. Then no wacky music over what Smart said. The wacky music made Sark sound less authentic. If you play Kirby's soundbite next to a boing sound and a toilet flushing it feels like he's not being as genuine. -

I’ve feel like I’ve been saying this all offseason. All the talk is about Mateer and im wondering who tf he’s throwing the ball to. They literally have one decent pass catcher in Deion Burks. Sategna has less than 500 yds and 1 td. Their TE is a converted LB. Their OLine was dookie last year and they’re relying on two freshman one of which was a mid level Four Star. Idk man -

My daughter is obsessed with Minecraft to the point of wanting to learn Swedish and visit Sweden. (I've asked her to let me know what "bork bork bork" means when she gets to that part.) Now I'm casually thinking it might be fun. Never been there.

I remember the whole family gathered around the radio in the kitchen listening to the game. I was a 9 year old punk. Screamed like a little girl when Spreyer caught the TD pass. Good memories.

I get it but also have slightly more sympathy for the Hermit Kingdom grunts who've never had access to a Free Press.

FAFO. If you think Russia is so grand, put your money where your mouth is and move there. This guy's a hero and should be commended. Everyone who agrees with him should follow his lead and do the same.

If Texas could pay the most money to every recruit, we wouldn't lose any recruit to fucking Baylor or Tech. -

Just got back from a week in Bend yesterday. Book-ended by a few days in Portland. Hiked in Three Sisters Wilderness Area: Moraine Lake (out past Mt. Bachelor), Matthieu Lakes (near the town of sisters). Beautiful, sublime, alpine lakes. Hardly anybody around. Lakes were swimmable, but nut-cutting cold. Tubed on the river through town. Grew up tubing all over the Hill Country, so that was meh, but daughter and her friend enjoyed it. Lots of fine ass paddleboarding around. Beer is prohibited on the river and the river trail through town, but lots of people were drinking openly while tubing without any hassle. The river trail is a great place to run or walk in the mornings or evenings. Everybody has a dog and a tattoo. Its fire season, so there will be fires somewhere. We had one day of smoke in Bend. Could of been worse, kind of a crap shot if you have fires large or close enough to fuck up the air. Drove right by fires both coming from and going to Portland that were large enough to call out the helicopters and superscoopers. Those planes are badass: Highs were in the 80s, but didn't get that hot until later in the day. Lows were in the 50s. not a foodie, but wife picked out one fancy restaraunt: Bosa (Italian). I thought it was fine. Wife loved it.
