Im avoiding situations involving the sun/have seats in the shade. It’s all moot at the moment with this white blood cell count needing to get up/me not going anywhere - like you said earlier, I’m not going to FAFO. I got my 27 hour jab during the fourth quarter last night…no bad side effects yet.

I agree. He's living in a fantasy land where Happy Trails, Ice Cream Man and Big Bad Bill dont exist.

That is a shame for LA area fans. So much history there and I truly feel for SBBruin. Truly a great poster here. UCLA right now is in shit deeper right now than we were in the mid/late-80s, late Mack years, and the Charlie experience. They too can get out of it, but it’s going take some work, money, and time to get out of this. Hook’em!!!

Gotta say, it's chilling to see the fascist thought police and state sponsored cancel culture in action. People are being tattled on to employers for perfectly legal statements, and the employers are going along with it and punishing anyone who thinks contrary to the Party line. It's downright Orwellian and the height of irony to be coming from the Party that claims to love free speech and hate cancel culture

QB1 Arch Manning: Doing his best JAG impression to fool scouts
StrippersAndNobelPrizes replied to LTtxfan's topic in Football
Unless something has changed - why the f&*$ do I see so many QBs for other teams on the headset, looking at tablets, talking to coaches, etc. on the sideline during games getting in-game coached up while Arch just sits by himself looking like Schleprock? WTF is going on here? -
This 100%. If our DB’s can stop the WR’s from making plays even with our horrible offense, we win easily. Good on atm, when was the last time they could say they have better playmakers than us? But they definitely do this year.

Correct. Given he's still getting up to speed on the position, better to not let him get baited into a 2nd yellow. -
College kids do college things, but I'd be hesitant to take the word of anonymous posts on social media. It's not like recent events haven't proven a majority of people posting on social media are bat shit crazy and wrong about everything. Whatever is happening is real, mental goblins are hard to shake, but at some point you need to do the needful to get the help needed for someone and save the season. If we don't have a quarterback than can throw and things stay ugly, recruiting suffers. Damn near everyone in the SEC looked better than us in being able to score yesterday.

Yeah, FB just wants eyeballs on their screens to push ad revenue. They don’t give a dam about the content, because they don’t have to. And when the algorithm see that post moves the needles because of They push it to the front of the line, because that will get someone else’s eye to post how great or fake or whatever they want to post about it. this is the worst thing that social media does to us, they say a lie is around the world before the truth has gotten its boot on in the morning. Social media makes at 100,000 times worse.Crap like this spreads because algorithms push it to the front end it moves more and more and more. And a guy like Zuckerberg doesn’t give a damn one way or the other just as long as he gets an extra 10 bucks out of it

There were times last season when Ewers was looking for a place to fall. Maybe that's on Sark, maybe it ain't; but it certainly happened.

Volume down. Why was Kerkez taken off? The yellow? -
I think is says that bloodlines don't mean shit if the kid doesn't have anything more than his name. Everyone was going to take a Manning. He was rated the #1 QB. But maybe we're seeing it wasn't just loyalty to Ewers being the reason Arch didn't take over last year. What I don't get it where is the Arch that played well against Mississippi State, UTSA, and ULAMon last year? I don't think Sark broke Arch. He certainly didn't break Ewers.

Nueces River Rat replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Agreed. I like Sark a ton. I admire his testimony on the personal and professional side and we’ve all been there with some of those same struggles and given a second or third chance to correct them. I still think he can correct them as far as program management, but it might take this season as being an underperforming season to do it. If next year it’s the same song and dance (IE he doesn’t bring in a seasoned and respected OC), then “Houston ,we have a problem.” I hope and pray Sark is thinking to himself everyday as he leaves his office that he is the coach of the Univeristy of Texas which is a life time opportunity he could have only dreamed about six years ago and their was a reason CDC gave him a shot and he’s thinking I better not screw this up. He has a chance to still be a generational coach meaning he’s here for a decade plus. Or his welcome is worn out and the BMD and Alumni base demand his head which will be the tone this time next year if a course correction is not made. -

Confession accusation. I saw a similar thing relating to Letitia James case. Multiple emails with the broker and others that she was not going to live in the house she applied for a loan on with her relative, who would. But in a power of attorney to that relative to disburse funds and other acts at closing, there was a recitation that she would own and occupy it as her primary residence. An odd place to have such a recitation. So as if it was in dispute, these mortgage fraud charges are pretty bogus and won't support a conviction, but might support an indictment. And that sucks. The Trump administration is going to be a watershed era in the development of selective/political prosecution law. -

Mrs Whiggins replied to msbesq's topic in Cloak Room
Frankly I'm struggling a little with this. (I did not read the article-paywall) It's happened (leopards) and yes--both sides--and it's been discussed regarding one's speech not being free from consequences. The troubling aspect that I am seeing is what I believe to be the misuse of governmental power to punish those who are not actually employed by the government. A private employer within reason is allowed to hire and fire employees as is the government, but (and please educate me if I'm mistaken) and the government has policy that dictates the do's and don'ts for its employees as well and some legal justification for 'interfering' with private concerns that cross over into the relationship between public and private (say embezzling PPP loans etc). But I was witnessing government leadership essentially citing opinions by citizens as terrorism, yes? And opinions that were directed toward another private citizen, who is no longer among the living. That the deceased was either liked or disliked by many is perhaps irrelevant to the government excepting cases of interference (meaning actual threats, harassment, etc). So the consequences for one's crass tweet(s) I can somewhat square with how things have been; but the idea that groups are sending 'lists' of other citizens' media to the government (and other than Miller's statement on Fox, I admittedly don't know how true or not that is) to be tattled ratted out reported on and then harrassed is hmmm, something our country needs to square up and say, nope, not happening here. Because to do so weakens the argument that our country is not under threat from actually an authoritarian regime. Events are moving so quickly, it's hard to get a handle on things, but I do know one thing; if the current leader were to pass due to health, the surveillance state, its protocol, and what happens afterward will likely have been greatly shaped by this event. I don't know if I'm making sense here. It's all so sad all around. What are we doing to each other and why why we do we behave so stupidly to each other?
