Not real confident he comes back this year, since he is the guy who left a game because the fireworks scarred him.

Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah (by a 22 YO groyper)

People thinking Charlie was a good debater shows how stupid we've gotten. Imagine a debate between Charlie and Christopher Hitchens. It'd be akin to the star player on your middle school bball team vs prime MJ. -

I was trying to rein myself in, because this is a good topic for discussion and there's probably five other ongoing threads that would make a better home for it, but just to quickly address your post, I'm using church attendance in the same overall bucket as any social group as described in Puttnam's "Bowling Alone". It's not that they are religious, it's that it's a community not purely based on socioeconomic traits and encourages mixing of different personalities, political preferences, and there's good scholarship that the community takes the edge off extremist beliefs. FWIW, the Enlightenment had to reckon with your concern about faith versus secular values, and that tension heavily influenced the founding fathers. I think Jefferson would say that religion doesn't open the mind to falsehood, but that many professed believers who's minds are already open to conspiracies and fantasy are more forgiving of the mystical as an explanation for things they can't comprehend. Taking it back to social media, the voter who believes that Jesus saved Trump from assassination no longer has a neighbor or fellow congregant who gently dissuades him; instead he's found a group on Facebook or X that is reinforcing his beliefs. What should be really scary is that these people are fundamentally lonely, and are going to be the very first community emotionally dependent on an AI that is too novel and unregulated to have much sense of what comes next. -

This is where my daughter was. Black pilled. She was always saying the world is shit and what's the point. Why even exist. Im just getting in you and mom's way. It would be better if I weren't here. Luckily we caught it early enough, but we fought it for 2 years. Also volleyball saved her too as it gave her some purpose. However, there are swarms of kids who feel like this, and here we are arguing blue or red. -

We did not hear one word about Stroh in the offseason and then all of the sudden right before Ohio St we hear he is the likely starter. As if Stroh secretly beat out Neto without so much as one 9.95’er mentioning that as a possibility. I doubt Stroh is somehow killing it in practice. -

General Gaming Thoughts That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

We did this a bit when GTAO launched. I randomly remember @Bookman duping a sweet car for me. I think it was a yellow sports car and the licence plate was BOOKMAN or however close you can get. Something involving going in and out of your garage. GTAO was the fuckin wild west when it first launched with all the bugs and exploits. People enabling god mode in free roam. People duping millions of dollars, handing it out to random people, totally fucking up the progression and in-game economy. One of my best memories is figuring out how to defeat some choad who was terrorizing a server with God Mode. I figured out I could knock him over with my car and trap him in an endless locked animation of getting up and getting immediately knocked down again. I trolled him for like 10-15 straight minutes. Don't recall who blinked first. -
We do for Ukraine.

Nah fuck that he was playing great last year he looks like a different dude this year. Maybe it’s the receivers, OL, RB differences. Maybe Sark altered the offensive system (unlikely from his coarch camps, but it doesn’t look the same). We need to see Caldwell next game second half no matter what. See what the fuck we got before SEC play or we are fucked with this year Arch.

That is a good question that I’ve seen no one ask. Would he have even killed his folks if he had been able to go back and get the gun? Good question and I have no idea.
