  2. The pressure from the DEs, OLBs and Hill has a chance to be elite. If that’s the case, it’s going to make the DTs look really good since only so many guys can be double-teamed or a focal point in protection. Beyond that, as Codaxx pointed out, there is legit talent within the DT room and a lot of it will be here for more than 2025. People discount January, but the staff thinks he’s a difference maker and is a likely starter. I am not really sure why we’re not excited about him. He checks a lot of boxes. Watson is supposed to be a stud. The other guys aren’t chopped liver and they’re likely to be able to redshirt the freshmen, if they want to do so. Scipio also pointed out the important aspect of turnovers being somewhat random as well. Yes, there are ball hawks. There are also roles that get more chances and Star is one of those. An elite pass rush will also translate into picks. It wasn’t like Mukuba was a turnover force at Clemson. I think expecting turnovers to be on par with 2024 on the defensive is reasonable. Either this is going to be an elite defense starting multiple All Americans or what the fuck are we expecting?

A little more than 10 minutes. There were probably 10 people in the bar.
  4. Or giving up a walk-off HR to Jonathan fucking India.
  5. Good reminded about how Texas is a worse place than it was 20 years ago in almost every way.

How long did it take to get your order?
  7. How much longer until we see a proposal for a DC Colloseum? Complete with the Trump Games using immigrants and liberals as the lion bait.
  8. You're probably right, but it's possible he just doesn't have the ability to maintain in the 200/400. My kid was 11.2/23.5 which hints that sub-11/23.7 is not likely. None of that really changes the original point being made; i.e., Texas and Georgia are gonna slug it out for players in each others' state.
  9. Abandoning logic and reason to “play the game” more effectively is hardly a unique position anymore, especially around here. Father Brisket and the ledgecore movement have been championing besting the fascists at their own game before it was deemed necessary. I mean, if a Dem came out today and said “we go high when they go low” not only would it not be applauded, they’d be skewered for being out of touch. An argument could be made not leaning into emotion at the expense of boring facts and reason is how we got here in the first place.
  10. Oregon and Michigan being the other two finalists doesn’t indicate that we’re going to be able to come back at the 11th hour and moneywhip Benjamin if we want to. Those two don’t have much of a problem matching or exceeding whatever we can do. FWIW, I have the same concern about Malakai Lee. I’m glad we decided we want Kreul. If he grows a little bit then you’ve really got something. If not then he can transfer to Temple and terrorize the AAC. Also, maybe y’all could shut the fuck up with the movie horseshit for 5 seconds while we have a little nugget to discuss?
  11. We’re unlikely to increase that percentage because our opponents will likely be improved. Our defense was off to a great start last year and Mukuba was a rotational piece until Williams went down. Barron was tremendous and a bit unique in what he brought to the table. You reference turnovers. Mukuba had 1 career pick heading into last year. Two of his last year were deflected balls (one created by Manny). One was a 3rd and 30 with less than a minute to go. He was playing the deep safety. That can be replicated. Williams is quite capable. If we crank up the pressure, we’ll create turnovers. The best QB we played in the regular season was Beck, and he wasn’t necessarily wanted back so that should tell you something.
  12. "I'm busy" is almost always translated to "I don't want to do that" or "I can't be bothered to do that." and when it comes to siblings, there can be a growing resentment of not taking on your fair share of the work or cost. And perhaps one sibling has more money or time, but that doesn't excuse the other one from not making an attempt. Here's a few hours of my time. Here's a $100 to add to your $1,000. Sometimes just the gesture is appreciated assuming it's sincere. When it came to caring for our now deceased father, I put in 1000s of hours over his last decade. My sister arguably put in 10-15 hours which includes drive time to see our dad. Over a decade. Yes I hold a grudge that will never end.
  13. Last Unicorn scared the hell out of me. The boob tree made up for it though.
  14. Once you go black...
  15. And the size of the die cutters.
  16. I have posted this before but it is worth a repost. David Byrne and St. Vincent. The French Horn Player is also part of an all-girl group, Genghis Barbie.
  17. If the logic is to abandon logic and reasoning, then you're playing into the fascists hands. What is "the message around trans as is" from the democrats? I understand it to be "they are human beings and deserve the same dignity and rights we all enjoy, because they're fucking human beings". I understand that it's not your position, but you really do seem to be recommending the democrats abandon that position to better attract the hateful youth vote
  18. I think it may be a better unit overall than last year.
  19. Question for all you lawyer types out there like @South Austin and @Lidig8r: How are text messages substantiated in court? Does there need to be some verification provided by the service provider? I could easily fake text messages to appear legit. Also, as is referenced in the affidavit, is it common for the police to be instructing someone what to text to ensnare a suspect? I know that was done with the Scott Peterson/Laci Peterson murder case in SF, where detectives instructed his mistress what to say when she called him (and they were secretly recording the calls). Not that I have situation similar to that. I didn't imply that at all.
  20. She knows what she did.
  21. RiP Ryne. Always respected his game but as an Astro fan was definitely more of a Biggio guy. BTW while comparing their careers I saw that both were not elected to the Hall until their 3rd year of eligibility. Baseball writers are the fucking worst.
  22. I've seen a few paid social media posts by this company recently. Sounds like a great idea to not toss sunglasses because the lens shattered or was scratched up. Assuming their replacement lens are decent quality.
  23. If I ranked where I have been so far (I have 6 left Seattle, Detroit, both LA, Mets, Miami) my list would probably go like this (I don't know all the stupid fucking names now since they change them): 1. Wrigley 2. PNC 3. SF Giants 4. Fenway 5. Petco 6. Camden 7. Coors 8. Cincinnati 9. Target Field 10. Busch 11. Progressive Field 12. Citizens Bank Park 13. Daikin Park 14. Kaufmann 15. Rogers Centre 16. Atlanta 17. Chase Field 18. Milwaukee 19. Texas 20. Yankees 21. Tropicana 22. Nationals Park 23. White Sox 24. Oakland
  24. Egalitarianism is a strong, motivating ideological force. Tens if not hundreds of millions of people in human history have fought for it and millions have died for it. Nobody is willing to fight and die for "Ok what we need is to pull 57% of white voters with college degrees, at least 85% of the black vote, at least 60% of the latino vote, and we checked the math and we want the gay vote but also the anti-trans vote" triangulating.
  25. Another reminder that Greg Abbott has failed as a decent human. I had forgotten that he was only in the job a few months when he decided to pander to these idiots.
