How shitty does your economy have to be to lay off workers who make tanks during a war?
-
Good news!! My wife got a liver transplant last December and it’s been an experience like no other. Hopefully yours is as smooth as hers was. Feel free to reach out with any questions! [emoji869]

If memory serves, it was set up that way when Disney, NBC and Fox agreed to create Hulu together. Disney held the option to purchase because they had the most valuable IP. NBC wanted the $ to walk away.

Laid off workers can be drafted for the front. Seems like a win?

I've focused mainly on posting from Reddit, as it allows videos to be played while embedded on Surly without requiring a jump to their site. There's also the advantage that they have a couple of dedicated subreddits for the conflict, so you get relevant content, as well as one that focuses on Ukraine in general. By checking these, you probably get 95% of the same stuff that's posted on Xitter without giving clicks to Elon's Nazi hellsite and without all the trolls. They're both pretty well moderated. My preferred subs for info are: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/ https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]

Seeing the approval of an insane compensation package for Elon at Tesla, it's shades of this: Because this shows that there actually is no "Tesla," just a brand called "Elon." Here's a nice little exercise: imagine that Elon OD's on ketamine tomorrow and dies. .... .... Yeah, I know, it's nice to think about. But anyway, imagine that. What happens to Tesla's stock price? Because it's not based on "their cars are great." It's not based on "sales are going up." Nope. It's based entirely on....."Elon is the CEO." Owners of Tesla stock don't have stock in Tesla, they have stock in Elon. Which is in turn, really just stock in "the image and persona of Elon that Elon has managed to sell." The moment that goes away -- and death will do that to a personal brand -- what the fuck is propping up the stock price? Nothing. So.... -

"Jobs have grown bigly. At numbers the likes of which no one has ever seen before. There have never been more jobs. 'Jobs' - that's a word not many people know, but it's becoming more and more common. I brought that word back, 'jobs.' Sleepy Joe couldn't do it. The election was stollen."

Safari? Lock it down. Turn off trackers, etc. Once you do, twitter stuff looks like this: Right click on the date and open in new tab if it’s something you want to see. Doing that and all the weird shit people have been mentioning will stop.

Yeah, this doesn't end well for them. There are enough high school students that are serious about debate and know their shit well enough to derail these meetings by "just asking questions". And they're all here for it too.

Leaked Disney Memo is Bad News for YouTube TV Customers Published Nov 07, 2025 at 01:41 PM EST 0:16 / 0:56 Andrew McCarty By Andrew McCarty Newsweek is a Trust Project member On Friday, Nov. 7 three high-ranking Disney executives, Disney Entertainment co-chairmen Dana Walden and Alan Bergman, along with ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro, issued a memo to employees regarding its standoff with YouTube TV. “Rather than compete on a level playing field, Google’s YouTube TV has approached these negotiations as if it were the only player in the game,” the memo, obtained by The Athletic's Andrew Marchand and Dan Shanoff, read. “It goes without saying that the reason so many consumers value our programming above others is because we invest in the best talent, creators and content in the world, and we cannot allow anyone to undercut our ability to do so.” The memo comes after YouTube TV announced on Oct. 30 its plans to remove Disney's ABC and ESPN from its platform after the two sides failed to agree to a new carriage rights deal.
