You think so? My band director in HS was a legend (now retired) who somehow convinced over 1/2 the school (including athletes and cheerleaders) that it was cool to be in marching band and won us a few state titles. He was very much in favor of attending certain schools if they wanted to be considered elite band directors one day. I never thought about doing that so never really paid much attention, but I believe he was pushing them towards Tech and UNT.

Don't forget that great clean coal.

It's a lot of work but also extremely rewarding. I've gotten to experience being on the field and contributing, as the band has won UIL State, been highly competitive at BOA-San Antonio, and also finished 5th in the entire country at the BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis. It's a pretty great feeling and getting to share at least a little of it with the kids is quite satisfying. My high school marching band was pretty crappy, so getting some of that vicariously, is also a bit of a thrill, I'm not gonna lie.

SUPERMAN !!! 🤘

I also did that dad volunteer thing one year, and was put on field as one of the people who push those props around during the show. I will admit, I got a little nostalgic that first show. It had been a minute since I'd actually been on field.

Meh, regardless of the win/loss history between us, their fans are entitled pussies. Fuck em. -
Look, man, if we're gonna Make Slavery Great Again, we gotta get back to the basics. Sugar, King Cotton, they will be the cornerstone of the New America in its Golden Age. Maybe Trump will give a speech about it. We could call it the Cornerstone Speech.

Well, when you have the choice to help the less fortunate or incarcerate them, you incarcerate them. That's what Jesus said. Plus the free labor is good for the economy. It's a win-win.

I'll probably volunteer one year for the McCallum pit crew. It does look like a lot of work, but I helped out with my daughter's basketball team at McCallum, and I think it was good for her to see her dad be part of the parent support group.

No, silly, we are MAHA by switching over to an ingredient with an import tariff and a domestic production cap. Americans pay 200% more for sugar than anyone else in the world. US Sugar is undefeated.
-
No, those are domestic shipments of goods.

Moxy is a pretty good location. Lox bagel shop and North Star cafe are close and very solid breakfast options. Press grill is a great dive bar late night spot right across the street basically. Residence inn is a good location downtown. The bourbon bar is just ok but a cool setting. The Citizens Trust bar is great and about a block away. Very solid restaurants are very close as well at Veritas (maybe high end for a football game), Hank’s and Speck. A few good breweries in that area in Wolf’s Ridge and Jackie Os. Tip top is a great dive bar across the street and pins is a fun spot a couple block away,

Sorry, sir. Maybe if you had changed your name to Chad or Connor, America might have cared about your plight. But we've got a quota of Pedros to meet. -
I do "pit pack" for our kids' high school marching band, including being around for some of the in-week rehearsals, and all of the football games and competitions. We load and unload a full semi trailer full of instruments, and usually two 24' box trucks full of props, for every performance. On a BOA or UIL competition day, we might load/unload 4 times in a single day, if the schedule works out so that the band can get to an offsite stadium for an extra rehearsal in-between morning prelims and evening finals. It's brutal.

Well, he was crowing about the recruiting rankings a week or so ago, but those rankings have now flipped because of our last 3 commitments. I was sure Graham would provide an update. I sure hope he's doing OK.

Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc.)

Didn't watch the video yet, but I see 401k adoption (or not) as a major component whether $1m will occur. If employers had bitcoin or crypto exposure as an investment option for employee plans, the underlying assets will skyrocket. I don't imagine many will start throwing 100% into crypto (some will), but even if you start seeing a low average of 1-2% that is a huge influx of money that will eat up available bitcoins. -
the bill's oyster $10 happy hour burger is legit. it was almost more of a patty melt, and it was extremely delicious.

This raises an interesting question. With the new state of admissions, is the "weed out" less of a thing at UT? There used to be motivation to get as many hours out of the way as possible away from UT to avoid the bad prof scenario and a bad or even failing grade.

Just for shits and giggles, I wanted to see where our class would be with the 3 specialists taken out in the 247 composite. We'd be 2nd (behind Oregon) in average with 93.716. We'd also drop a spot overall to 6th (score of 285.5) with only 18 recruits (3rd lowest total in top 10). -
Sigh. I was 100% sure you'd miss the point, and you did.
