First, when did public displays of social media affection become a requirement for love? Second, what the fuck is he going to tweet? “To my lovely wife Melania, try not to get deported. JUST KIDDING🤣. Seriously, in a world full of pussy, yours is the best I ever grabbed. I am eternally greatful that you never filed charges. LOVE YOU TO MAR-A-LAGO AND BACK. #milehighclub #winning #MAGA”11 points

If Obama had declared a national emergency and taken money from the defense budget, he'd have been impeached.11 points

Lol some of y’all are so fucking clueless. You know who started this? Nate Boyer. Yes, that Nate Boyer. Anyone with their faux outrage needs to tell an army green beret why Americans shouldn’t be able to protest injustice. The athletes have a stage and they most definitely made the country discuss an issue more so than it would have if they did not do what they did. /End Rant.10 points

He used the ongoing issues at hand to land a nice payday once his game was figured out and he wasn't talented enough to adjust. He got one from the NFL and one from Nike (who is one of their biggest sponsors). It was always about the money. But people actually thought he cared about the issues lmao. Dude was seeking attention and then money. I'm sure the NFL was sick of his shit and just wanted to pay him to make him go away. This is chump change for them and worth it to dissolve the story. Win win for them. They come out looking good by paying him and he goes away. He never wanted to play. No intention. Just wanted to create a media circus and so many fell for it. I mean this was more than any contract any team would give him.7 points

Elite talent is always important, at any position. aggy, however, is attempting to use the recency bias from the NFL which has seen more and more RBs being treated as commodities and top talent has been taken in the 3rd or 4th round in recent years. There has been a narrative in the NFL that RBs are just not as crucial in the modern game. aggy is failing to acknowledge that college football is not the NFL, and beyond that, the elite talent that has emerged the last couple of years in that league has somewhat altered the narrative. Ezikel Elliot, Todd Gurley, and Saquon Barkley are examples of RBs who are the most important offensive components of their respective teams. The funny part of all of this is the fact that aggy is ONLY bleating about Evans ranking because they are insecure shitheads and they know he is not giving their shitty school the time of day. So they will throw out superlatives like "best receiver prospect in 20 years" or "the next Julio Jones" when discussing Demas, in an obvious attempt to pump up their hopes and dreams of someday being better than the damn 'Sips. And yes, we'd love to have Demas' talent, but considering our specific roster situation, Evans is infinitely more important a prospect for Texas than Demas.7 points

Of course, their entire premise is stupid. There's a reason only 1 defensive player has ever won a Heisman, and that player also returned kicks and played some offense as well. It's QBs, Running Backs, and WR's in that order. But services dont rank that way at all, defensive players are the #1 recruit in the country all the time. The entire fucking notion that certain positions are more worthy of the #1 spot over others is a waste of fucking time, so I'm in no way surprised they're grasping at that straw while at the same time failing to understand that they're in no way conforming to the idea they're espousing. Of course they aren't, it's aTm. They'll bitch about Green being labeled as a guard versus a tackle because they're "less valuable" in the rankings system, but ignore the fact that an elite RB is going to impact the game more than an elite WR every day of the week. Cognitive dissonance is the most powerful force in the universe. I just happen to think shitting all over Demas or downplaying his talent is the kind of bullshit that their fanbase does regularly and we ridicule them for over here. And for us to do it for a player that is anything but a slam dunk to pick UT seems especially dumb and short sighted.7 points

At this point, I'm convinced the Trump "presidency" will end with the worst constitutional crisis this country has seen since the Civil War because I strongly believe he will never willingly give up power and would use any means at his disposal to stay in office. His motive, of course, is staying out of jail because he's got to know that the day he walks out the front gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the day he will be arrested. After today, there can be no question he'll violate every constitutional standard possible to stay in office. I mean, I knew he had it in him, but his open confession that it's really not a national emergency by stating he didn't have to do it was proof that he will definitely go there when the time comes. Our nation's legal system and law enforcement will be put to the ultimate test if the time comes to drag him kicking and screaming out of the Oval Office. Y'all scoot over and make some room - I'll somehow manage to get over my fear of heights. Oh, and I prefer bourbon over scotch.6 points

In his final news conference of the year, President Barack Obama emphasized that Russia cannot change or significantly weaken the U.S., adding that Russia is a smaller and weaker country. He said Russia's economy "doesn't produce anything that anybody wants to buy," except oil, gas and arms. The only way Russia can affect the U.S., he said, is "if we lose track of who we are" and "abandon our values." "Mr. Putin can weaken us just like he's trying to weaken Europe if we start buying into notions that it's OK to intimidate the press, or lock up dissidents or discriminate against people," he said. When asked if he would specifically name Russian President Vladimir Putin as directly responsible for the election hacking, Obama said he wanted to give the intelligence community a chance to gather the information necessary. He added, however, that "not much happens in Russia without Vladimir Putin," reaffirming that the hacking happened at the highest levels of the Russian government. "This is a pretty hierarchical operation," he said. "Last I checked, there's not a lot of debate and democratic deliberation, particularly when it comes to policies directed at the United States." Obama reaffirmed his message of political unity and bipartisanship, urging the country to reunite across party lines to defend itself against Russia and others. "Our vulnerability to Russia or any other foreign power is directly related to how divided, partisan, dysfunctional our political process is," he said. "That's the thing that makes us vulnerable." On whether President-elect Donald Trump's comments about Russia and Putin embolden Russia, Obama said he would prefer to wait and see, in order to give Trump time to gather his team and become fully briefed on the issues. The president referenced a survey that said that 37 percent of Republican voters approved of Putin, adding that "Ronald Reagan would roll over in his grave."5 points

I still want to know more about this: Fact 1: Cambridge Analytica data of potential voters and their motivations wound up in Russian hands. Fact 2: The Russian’s engaged in social media campaigns in the lead up to the election to motivate Trump voters and demotivate Hillary voters. Fact 3: The 2016 election was decided by 107,000 votes in 3 states. Seemingly unexplored question by Mueller/others: Were voters in those 3 states specifically targeted by Russian social media campaigns in such a way that could have resulted in a 107,000 vote swing in their absence? You might have to force FB and Twitter to hand over some data,, but that is an answerable question. If the answer is yes, then that is a smoking gun — anyone involved with getting Russia that Cambridge Analytica data are guilty of conspiring with Russia to defraud the US and hand the election to Trump/keep Hillary out of the White House. But fuck, Cambridge Analytica is like 53773674774 news cycles ago. Ancient history. Being a mindful citizen is fucking exhausting.5 points

But the reality is I continue to positively impact hundreds of lives each year through my job and enjoy the mutual respect and gratitude shared with my students and colleagues. And now I’m going to go pack for my family's 10-day trip to Orlando.5 points
