Welp, yesterday was 1,250 days sober for me. Today is 1,251. I don't talk about it much because it's a bit of a cliche and generally frowned upon (relationships in early sobriety), but I fell in love with a girl in rehab, gave her a ride back to Austin, started dating her pretty soon afterwards. She moved in after I bought a house at the end of 2016, and this was last night my faithful companion who has never given me grief about how bad I used to be, or how I still sometimes make him do shit like this. didn't bark during the ceremony or anything 😂 my sister's husband pulled me aside after the ceremony. I stayed with them for awhile when I was fresh out and in early recovery. He pulled up the notes he took when he sat me down three and a half years ago to ask me what my goals were - where I wanted to be in a few years. A place of my own, promotion at work, in a solid relationship, having purpose in life. Today's reading comes from page 83-84 of the book -20 points

This isn’t hard to see... Trump may be an idiot but he’s not going to get caught trying to influence a campaign with Russian collusion... and more likely ... he didn’t even try. Over zealous operatives may have done as much, and there is a wake of indictments related. Folks flat out lied at a speed like rats jumping ship. No way it’s just nothing. Muellers investigation was limited to Russian interference in the election (and related obstruction) - that’s the gravest threat to our government right now. He didn’t find much. Thank god. We don’t have an entire government acting as a secret agent. Whew. Now can someone please deal with them as the external enemy they are? Trump is still being sued and likely in violation of the emoluments clause. He’s not exonerated on obstruction at all he just has a handler in a position to block further action. The financial crimes - for which there are likely many - are still fair game. Violation of campaign finance law - that’s essentially proven. We understand spin off investigations are on going. SDNY for example. If you were hoping he was a secret agent of Russia or if you thought that was really what was going on then shit guys I don’t know what to tell you. He’s still a crook and that’s not repeating the party line that’s pretty freaking clear from what’s already out there.14 points

I'll help you wrap it up. 1. Candidate Trump is an assclown who will embarrass the USA and damage the USA's standing in the world. 2. Russia and Putin want the USA knocked down a notch on the world stage. 3. Russia works to get Trump elected. 4. President Trump embarrasses the USA, damages longstanding alliances, weakens the US' position in the world, and even allows Russia to gain a foothold in the Western Hemisphere. 5. All this can and likely did happen without Trump himself colluding with the Russians. Their goals align. 5. Russians will absolutely try to do it again in 2020, and that's where it will get murkier. Now President Trump, who knows it is happening, is in a position of power where he can limit Russian influence, but will he? So now we are going to get to the intentional blind eye phase of this if we aren't already there. Trump has something that he wants. Is he going to try to stop a nefarious actor from delivering it to him? What Trumpists really need to ask themselves is why they support an administration that wishes to weaken American influence and reputation for personal gain.12 points

It's the damnedest thing. She falls down a well and her eyes go crossed. She gets kicked by a mule and they go back normal. I don't know.8 points

I'm confused by some of the reaction to this on the right. The FBI cleared Hillary, countless Benghazi and other investigations turned up no actionable criminal evidence against her, and Republicans still consider her a major criminal who should be locked up. But Trump is completely innocent because of a 2-page summary by his political appointee of a document that, at minimum, came up with evidence of criminal obstruction, and who knows what else on collusion that simply wasn't enough for a charge? Please.8 points

The report found that Russia directly attacked our democracy. The President does not appear to be an active player in that attack, which is relieving, but I'm now more interested in how we plan to retaliate against Russia. "The 80's called. They want their foreign policy back" has really aged poorly. Time for all of us to accept the fact that the Cold War is back and Russia nneds to be batted back down ASAP.7 points

Clapper, Brennan, Comey, et al. Totally full of shit. Imagine trusting these fucking spooks and entrusting them to practice sound judgement in the deployment of a vast, largely unchecked, and unconstitutional surveillance apparatus.6 points

Clots can be present for years before breaking off or actually occluding enough to finally cause the stroke/MI. In other cases, like the Dotard, they just stay put. That is chance. Thousands of people a day ride those scooters without helmets. Only a fraction end up in the ICU with head trauma. That is chance. What is the point of this nitpicking? Do you want me to go through the whole list of tragedies I'm covering right now to make sure they meet the semantic standards you hold? Maybe the kid who was skateboarding home from school WITH A HELMET who is only capable of lifting up his left arm to pull the oxygen off his tracheostomy? Does he pass your purity test? God, you're almost the worst.6 points

This is such a shitty take. This isn't a made-up conspiracy theory. This is a substantive investigative report that has lead to multiple indictments, convictions, and guilty pleas. The house voted without objection to release the entire report, which is a central piece of a national public interest. Fuck your false equivalency6 points

I almost surely wouldn't read it. However, I would read articles about it and listen to the opinions of those I respect. Presently, a summary being presented by a presidential appointee is all I have to go on. The AG's interpretation provides enough "light" for the chorus of deplorables to emerge from their gloomy safe places and gloat about exoneration. It's possible we are witnessing the old right wing ploy of providing a moment that seems like a victory followed by a claim of "that's all behind us now" when the full, filthy story comes to light. Bizarro Benghazi, if you will. We are being treated to a supernova of old school rad right ejaculate. They feel safe to laugh at serious things and dismiss any opposing opinions as idiotic because they originate from the snowflake hearts of ebil libs (the new Juden, jah!) who mean only harm to the dear old USA. They gather to dance the familiar choreography of repeated untruth and ridicule which they believe will scare away the ebil spirits and make sweet America great again. It wouldn't be the first time it's worked. The owners and overseers have regained control. The USA is bound for greatness again! Huzzah! Now tote that bale and shut up!6 points

It’s a bad precedent to set to accuse a president and all of his family of being Russian operatives for over two years with nothing but claims from Twitter and social media. Basically treason which is a crime that is punishable by death. Although Joe McCarthy would be proud of you.6 points

the 2018 thread was on the previous platform but I feel like this needs to be seen... Aggy is very excited about Bobby Brown's 320 pounds. As we saw with the short video clip last week during their first workout. Lots of SEC ready and Schmidt doing work talk this entire off-season. Tarp through a pic up from practice to get that Ag excitement going. I included a high school shot for comparison. Schmidt. Doing. Work. SEC ready.5 points

Lol no. Ojomo would not have been near Leal at all even if he was a 2019 recruit. This is the kind of nonsense that gets spewed when people can’t handle reality, i.e. aggy. Ojomo is a good prospect, but he’s not near the #16 player in the country. Another thing people ignore is that these raw 3 stars we take that can be developed into all-conference level guys take a while and may only give you one really good year, like Omenihu, whereas a lot of 5 stars, like Ed Oliver or Dexter Lawrence, are ready to come in and contribute at a high level for 3 years.5 points

If there's no proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he colluded/conspired with the Russians, he should still come out okay. In fact, he can claim victory and laugh away all the other charges. I've been following the law recently, and I think that's how it works.5 points

Trump won’t resign. Trump won’t be impeached. He’ll finish his term. We all know his team helped/encouraged Russia even it wasn’t actively coordinating. But he and probably his sons and Kushner will eventually be taken down for illegal business practices of some sort after the Trump presidency. Trump is a crook and has been for years. Now every aspect of his business is being looked into. He’ll eventually be fucked.5 points

There is apparently still more evidence that he left's messiah colluded with the Russians than this current administration. Maybe if he hadn't been so friendly with the Russians we wouldn't be in this mess?? And of course, Hilary would have been much tougher on them than anyone I'm sure.5 points

The piss dossier was opposition research and was the basis for the entire investigation getting started. Then you had the average joe FBI agents do their job while others in the IC and a senile Senator with a brain tumor decided to leak information to the press. If it wasn't for Jake Tapper at CNN, the piss tape story would have never made it to the mainstream and you guys would have been doing something much more productive over the past 2 years other than furiously masturbating over political clickbait.4 points

It's a fascinating case study in the strangest case of Stockholm syndrome I've ever seen. The two people Hugo defends the most on this board are James Comey and Hillary Clinton, who are the two people most responsible for the fact that Hillary Clinton isn't president today.4 points

A bit more video from aboard than the 10 seconds the morons at CNN, Fox, etc. insist on looping over and over and over: 1300 being rescued by chopper.
