FYI if anyone posts anything negative in regards to Quinn you will be getting neg bombed to oblivion. The kids camp is legit worried that he is unwanted and will be shit all over when something bad happens. This could be the best thing thats happened for Texas since at least 2009, do not shit all over it57 points

What has Ewers done to cause drama? I can't think of a single thing. He let potentially interested schools know he was going to transfer. Then he entered the portal. Then he visited some schools after taking a visit from a coach. He hasn't been on social media about it, his family has been tight-lipped about it, and they are going through a process that has so far taken about 3 days. In fact, the main reason you are seeing so much drama is specifically because Ewers and his family haven't caused any so the people who make money off of information are just filling the vacuum with a large amount of guesses and bullshit.38 points

I wanted to say my thanks to the guys that started this thing, @immamac @RGBIII @closetojumping and all the others that set up Burnt Ends, The Pancake Factory and Clark Field Collective. Thanks for showing the rest of the world what this great university is all about. It truly is one of the best and it attracts and educates some extremely bright minds. Being too proud to play the dirty game that the Bamas and OUs of the world play has really become an anchor around our neck. You guys didn't level the playing field, you walked in the casino and flipped the tables over and pistol whipped some bitches. Not only did you fully weaponize the NIL, you guys did it record time with almost no one in the same arena. It is a truly amazing feat and something I am happy to see and happier to support. And that is the coolest part. We all can be part of it now. All of us idiots typing on keyboards all day long wishing our BMDs would just go buy players, can now just set up our PayPal to funnel to the machine that will buy the revolution. And we have more alumni with higher paying jobs and genuine interest in football than almost any other brand in college football. Cletus will have to decide whether to buy his pack of Marlboros and Natty Lights or send $20 to the Bammer fund. I just don't see how the black market can ever keep up. Like CTJ said, the rest of the football world will figure it out (probably just copy) but I can't think of a better school to maximize it before somebody stops the party and introduces caps. This is the best thing to happen to Texas Football in my lifetime! Let's Go!!!32 points

I don't think Banks holds off because Jimbo Fisher is attempting sleight of hand. I also think this hilariously validates our assumption and intel that ATM hasn't been doing a fucking thing on NIL, is disorganized regarding it, and wanted to keep things exactly as things were now that they had the bag game infrastructure installed. Whoopsy. In truth, if they can actually organize and if they can actually find deep enough pockets who are willing, they'll have a fine NIL program. No one gives a shit. The whole point of putting together an NIL program was that it will dwarf the dark market money, reduce dark market participation because incentives have changed, and players will get a larger share of the payout pie. That, in turn, nullifies, more or less, the longstanding competitive advantage that those willing to cheat held over those that weren't. Then it all gets back to good old normal recruiting and extolling the values of programs, traditions, staffs, performance, etc. You know, the way it's actually supposed to work when cheating motherfuckers like the try-hards next door aren't ruining it for everyone else. BTW, one other element of NIL having positive value for groups like us that I didn't really even foresee is the inadvertent pressure it applies to coaching staffs to produce. Want to get paid more? Win. Why does a HC need a $1million raise when that money could go to a new annual program for defensive backs instead? Better win, buddy. There are alternatives that are sustainable and evergreen for the alumni bases of universities that suddenly look pretty attractive.31 points

If the fucking burnt ends zealots are going to continue shouting down anyone that doesn't have the flair, immamac might as well just boot every person not in burnt ends off the board and y'all can have your circle jerk amongst yourselves.29 points

For those of you commenting that it "feels very aggy", maybe y'all haven't noticed but aggy is likely to sign the #1 recruiting class in the country for '22, so maybe get over yourselves.18 points

https://chng.it/7hTsGDBdMz Legitimately sign this petition and share it to every single person you know. This means more than you think, if you want to do something real and substantial sign this and pass it around. It will get in front of the Ewers camp18 points

This is fucking stupid. The staff loves NIL. They don't love NIL getting passed at the 11th hour with no one knowing what the fuckin rules were and the players not planning and managing their time appropriately. The admin also loves NIL. This post is stupid. You should feel shame.18 points

Get fucked, you fat embezzling piece of shit. Get fucked and stay fucked. If anyone wants to see a selfish asshole who is an impediment to everything Texas can accomplish in this space for his own personal gain, look no further.17 points

Liucci can say what he wants, but Dewberry is legitimately a guy who can be swayed by the momentum shifting to Texas. And he and Banks have talked about playing together with some other kids. So if we lock up banks publicly, the odds go up for Dewberry as well. We literally just need one guy to jump right now.17 points

Christ almighty guys, lay off. If he misunderstood the staff’s temperature on NIL, is it that big of a fucking deal? If the staff can’t talk about NIL, it’s valid to ask the questions about who can communicate what to prospects. Full disclosure, I don’t know the rules about what the staff can and cannot “officially” communicate to recruits re: NIL and I doubt I’m the only non-expert here. But going off the rails for asking innocuous but mildly uninformed questions doesn’t foster an honest and open dialogue. And the hostility and smugness is downright Luicci-esque. We are all learning through all this bullshit. Cut everyone some fucking slack.17 points

Because fuck it, why not, another hit of speculation: Found a plane (Tail No. N512LL) that's wiped itself from FlightAware. It just touched down on the east side of Austin Bergstrom on a trip from Dallas Executive. It's co-owned by the McMinn Law Firm and the CEO of an Austin-based property management company. The founders of those firms/companies are both UT alumni, and one of them (Jason McMinn) was a Spur. The flight took off from Dallas right about noon today, roughly 15 minutes after LotusCorn posted the news re Ewers purportedly from the Spurs group chat.16 points

Lol I have a Xmas baby. When he was a baby I suggested that we celebrate his bday in July and Xmas by itself like normal. My wife suggested we do Xmas in the morning and then his bday celebration at night. So we compromised and now we have Xmas in the morning and his bday celebration at night.15 points

Everyone is eager to see this come to some kind of close, but my advice is to chill. I havent been monitoring much today, and I likely wont tomorrow either. I don't know when this deal is happening, but I'll be checking more Thursday and Friday, even Saturday. If he decides before that then I will be pleasantly surprised. I'm comfortable with our position.14 points

So, I wasted the past 2 hours catching up in this thread to learn absolutely nothing of value. But hey, I did end up feeling poor enough to try to look rich by joining Burnt Ends. I will just say, that it doesn't really matter where Ewers ends up. It is all about the friends we make along the way!14 points

one last story. i've told it before. i grew up in suburban dallas. when we moved there, it was farmland. by the time i left, it was fucking plano. anyways. i grew up conservative. very much so. my ma did her best to make sure i wasn't racist, and i reckon she did her job, but my dad was racist 101. n-bombs all the time. watching football, about politics. did not matter. had he lived to see me marry a hispanic woman...i dunno i kind of wished it happened from a humor perspective. anyways, i used to work out in east texas in the summer during college. think highway 80, where the town is actually divided by the train tracks. well, one day, i reckoned i needed a haircut. i went to the main drag and to the main barber, and there was a wait i didn't like. so i drove around a bit, crossed the tracks, and i saw a barber pole. it was a pretty ramshackle shack, but there was only one car in the parking lot, so i pulled in. walked in the door, and very quickly realized, oh shit, i am on the wrong side of the tracks. black barber, black dude in the one chair. it was like the record scratched, you know? anyways, i don't know what possessed this white boy, except maybe that europe trip, to say, "hi, you cut hair here right?" the barber laughed and said "yes, i do." he shooed the guy in the chair out for me. i said "well, he was here first" and the barber said "he's here all the time. what can i do?" the guy in the chair just sat down next, and i got a haircut and shave while they talked and talked and talked. it was so funny. only about halfway through did i get the cadence and diction. there was something about a drive to california the two of them took in a rental cadillac. there was a bunch of something other stuff. it was amazing. they just accepted me into their barber shop because i said "hey, you cut hair here, right?" but that one little experience also changed my life forever. talk to people. love people. experience people. it's worth it.14 points
