  1. I know I am somewhat biased when it comes to Card. I coached him for a few years in 7s and my kid lined up next to him in the backfield. That said, my loyalty to Texas overrides any personal feelings once a LT kid enrolls at UT. I havent spoken to Hudson since he arrived at UT. I honestly dont know what happened last year. All I can say is that is NOT the QB we saw for 3 years at LT against the highest level competition in TX High School. He played in the 6A state championship game against Allen and then back to back semifinals against North Shore. He didnt bat an eye to pressure from any of those defenses and he used his legs very efficiently. Kid runs a 4.6 and put up a 3.99 5-10-5. He excelled at attacking the middle of the field with the deep ball. I cant count how many times he hit Garrett Wilson or one of our other WRs on deep posts or Go routes. i think he posted the highest velocity on his throws at the Elite 11, NFL scouts were comparing him to Aaron Rodgers 18 months ago, and Sam called him the Natural. His ceiling is a multi-year college starter and 1st round draft pick. At LT, he was confident and poised and always a fighter. He never backed down from a challenge nor did he ever spit the bit. he was a gamer through and through. All of the above makes what we saw last year puzzling. Im not sure if he was coached to be careful and he took it took it to the extreme and tried to be perfect? I really dont know. But running to the sideline or not wanting to run down the field or not wanting to throw the ball down the field is absolutely opposite of the QB he was in HS. Being hesitant and indecisive are also very different than how he was at LT. It could be that he took Sark's coaching too seriously or literally. It could be the stage was too big for him last year. I really dont know and I wont make excuses for him. I just know that I believe he can be SO much better than that and want to see him succeed whether it is here or some other place. But he is going to have to do it - whether its overcoming himself or the coaches or both. If he can't do whatever it is that he needs to do to be successful, then he never will convert all the potential he has into a reality. I expect Ewers to start. I dont think you go get a QB like him and not start him. I will be surprised if Hudson starts. That said, I want a true competition between the two and then start the one who wins it. I just want Texas to win again. I believe we can with either Quinn or Hudson and think we will probably need both of them to play this year regardless of who wins the job. I also want Sark to pick one and ride that one all the way through the season. QB is such a position of confidence and momentum. Pick a starter based on who wins the competition and then stick with that QB unless they get hurt.

  3. Trump isn’t losing FOX, FFS. His words about lowering the temperature aren’t a gotdamn olive branch, they’re a fucking threat. Come on, people. “Vito, this shop is great. Beautiful. But all this olive oil, all these boxes. A fire could really spread. What can we do to make sure that doesn’t happen?”

  10. At this point, taking that job is like being the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s a desperate state of existence with no hope for success because the guy who pays your salary will constantly undermine you with his delusions of grandeur and goofy-assed bullshit.

  11. So, calm down a minute and think this through. You've got FBI field agents, and they are collecting super-secret-spy shit. Shit that they don't have the clearance to see. They were instructed (as the warrant shows), that if they see any classified shit in a box, they should seize the entire box. Because they (the field agents) aren't supposed to rummage through the secret-spy shit. So, they open a box full of shit, they flip through it, and they see "CLASSIFIED" marked on a single file, they close the box and load it onto the truck. It's not their fault that the fat fuck had his passports in the same box with spy shit that he FUCKING STOLE from the white house. Currently, the Feds have qualified people going through all the shit that they seized, and they will undoubtedly return everything that isn't relevant to Dotard's crimes, such as the passports. The fat orange fuck is trying to distract the morons from paying attention to his actual crimes by screaming "THEY TOOK MY PASSPORTS". Don't be one of those morons.

  12. Sounds to me like these boxes that held the classified documents also held some non-classified things mixed in as well. That is not a fuckup by the FBI, it is a description of the lack of care with which the classified documents were stored. And such non-secret things that were in these boxes are being sorted out and returned. And my passport does state specifically that it is the property of the US Government and can be reclaimed at any time. The only valid complaint is that Trump & Co were so sloppy in illegally storing the secret documents that they mixed in non-illegal things with them. That is 0% on the government and 100% on DJT.

  17. I still expect Ewers to be named the starter after the next scrimmage, for myriad reasons. That said, I've examined my thoughts around my outlook if Card were named the guy, and it's very grim. First of all, I'd be worried about our future on the NIL front. Only fools and aggies are ignorant or indifferent about NIL at this point. I know for a fact that Sarkisian isn't. Therefore, he'd be naming Card the starter with good information in his head around ramifications, so it be a really big bet. People on the boards can whine about donors and such all they want, but there isn't any heartburn over Neyor going down from folks who helped on NIL for him. We have realistic support compared to what the media and Internet thinks. Ewers riding the pine behind Card would be a whole 'nother thing. It won't even be so much about who has already helped, but more about trying to convince the inactive blue hairs that are happy to give to the program to have their name on shit, but don't think players should be given a damned thing and be grateful for it. Hell, a good chunk of the big money actually fucking played at Texas and they've responded like that. Second of all, I know players can get better and should get better after their freshmen seasons. I called Sam Ehlinger a loser on this board after his meltdowns in 2017 and he turned out to be a hell of a competitor when he wasn't concussed. So maybe Card shows up and goes fucking nuts this season as we win the conference title. It could happen. I just don't see it in the guy, and in-game mental issues, to me, are tough to fix in the offseason. Third, there are cultural implications inside the locker room which could be problematic. No one is expecting Card to be the man. That would be quite an audible for folks. Finally, that shit will matter in the future with the transfer portal, as well as in recruiting.

  19. Card against Kansas followed up his fumble with an immediate pick 6. We lost the game by one point and he gave them 14. At home. Why anyone defends this kid or pushes him as a potential legit QB1 is beyond me.

  25. I have made zero claim about anything related to Card/Ewers or even the entire football team. I made a random cryptic meme-y post in the sub's sports thread that y'all are (very entertainingly) stretching into the stratosphere. If Sark announces a starter between now and then, I'll enjoy the ironic timing just as much as I enjoyed @OnAComputeraccidentally breaking the Arch Manning commitment. It's really not that serious, but my Venmo accepts $9.95 all the same.

  29. I've never thought that the tweets have to be funny. Ketchum reads them. He attempted to get the handle switched over to him via Twitter itself years ago and he also sent someone a threatening letter or email at one point. He's too narcissistic to not be reading them. So trolling his fat ass is as much a driver as anything.

  30. I remember when Muschamp beat them in college station in 2012 (manziel’s first game?) and he said something like “disappointing all these people is a lot of fun.” Personally, I’d point to a career record with only two losses registered as more indicative of a “Jordan-esque” will to win, but then I’d show the tape of vy bringing his team back from down 28 at the half in Stillwater, the 4th and 18 conversion in Lawrence, the crazy flip pass to benson with four guys wrapped around his legs in Fayetteville, and the late 4th quarter game-winning throw to limas in the loudest part of the horseshoe to add color to his two clutch rose bowl mvp performances (both of which featured a game-winning drive in the final two minutes to complete a comeback)..but to each his own. When you think about the fact that he went through that entire final season with Nordgren as the ONLY backup (pretty sure one of the mccoy twins was nominally ahead of colt at the time), in the context of the last twelve years, it adds to the “Jordan-esque” aura of vy. Note: To think bohls witnessed all of that (excluding the USC game) and still decided to fuck vy is rage-inducing. That motherfucker had seen the best player in college football perform up close every goddamn week for two fucking seasons. What a dick. Manziel was great, but he was more like Allen Iverson.
