  1. We still going to win. Av’s goal minder has been playing out of his mind back half of 3rd and OT
  2. Tech did us zero favors this weekend. They suck. We are going to win a series and still lose ground.
  3. Wait…I was told we were going to win every conference series 2-1….
  4. 1000000% this. Pop started the year saying “Winning is as important this year as learning was in the past. We’ve got to continue to learn, but adding more wins is appropriate and mandatory.“ Within a few weeks it became “well we’re young” and “heh, well, we weren’t going to win a championship this year anyway” and “gee, we gotta see what we have” and other ridiculous musings to make it seem like they had a fucking clue of what they were doing. That Pop quote to me is telling because there’s no way he says it if the front office doesn’t think they’ll be competitive. Something like 35 wins, maybe not exactly in the hunt for a play-in, but also not eliminated in early March. in fact, we’re careening towards something like a franchise-worst 18-64. I’m not sure how they could have misjudged this team that badly, but it’s not terribly reassuring going forward.
  5. Wrong the Broncos. We are going to win back to back Super Bowls like they did after their uniform change.
  6. Give the injured players plenty of time to heal and come back healthy next season. It’s not like we were going to win the NBA championship this year anyway.
  7. Slacks

    2024 NFL DRAFT

    We are going to win.
  8. We are going to win this game, but nothing in this gives you any hope for the program.
  9. It took that cheater 5 years to start making a difference at cougar high....get some perspective. Our program has always flirted with being a top10, but more often than not has been average. It is what it is. And fuck that tweet crying about Rodney Terry getting after those UCF players. If they're doing the horns down, punch them in the mouth. Then maybe we'll see some fucking fight in this team. I see 2 good stars on this team, and the rest a bunch of bench warmers & supporting cast. If you had expectations that we were going to win the conference this season, that's on you.
  10. Not too bummed until I think about one throw to the end zone and a DB with his arm around AD’s neck and what coulda been a TD with just this or that. In the end I had already assumed the game was over. So the last drive was gravy and I never thought we were going to win. Today I’m more holiday hung over. Bad food and lots of drinking and no exercise for 2-3 weeks. So I’m in full detox mode working some mostly hitting refresh on surly in a manner that would make anyone with OCD blush with embarrassment. Back at life 100% tomorrow.
  11. Penix has been sacked 15 total times in 27 career games at Washington and his OL just won the damn Joe Moore award. The thought that we were going to win this game with sacks and pressure was delusional. We were going to have to hold up in the backend to have any sort of chance on defense. We failed and then got ball controlled most of the second half.
  12. No we aren’t dude. Washington D is baby shit soft the refs have assisted every Washington scoring drive with absolute bulkshit our DL is going to feast and we are going to win by 10
  13. Fuck them. We were going to win with 23 seconds anyway. Stop being pussies. So many times the “controversy” has gone the other way. Fuck them.
  14. Glad that we look like we are going to win this but giving up 80 to this LSU team is concerning
  15. Another Tulane assistant not joining Willie Fritz at Houston Gerald Chatman is returning to Tulane as defensive line coach, per a report. ZACH BARNETT 27 MINUTES AGO After it was previously reported that he would join Willie Fritz at Tulane, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman will instead remain at Tulane as part of Jon Sumrall's new staff, according to a report Thursday from 247Sports. Chatman is the second assistant previously reported to be following Fritz to Houston to ultimately make a proverbial U-turn at the Texas-Louisiana border. Offensive coordinator Slade Nagle did the same earlier this week, though not to return to Tulane. Chatman helped Tulane D-linemen Darius Hodges and Patrick Jenkins both earn First Team All-AAC honors this fall. The former Wisconsin-Oshkosh defensive linemen has coached previously at LSU, Colorado, the Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee State, and Butler, and as a GA at Texas A&M and Ball State. New Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall pledged to bring a national championship to New Orleans. "I'm telling you right now, I'm speaking it into existence, we are going to make the College Football Playoffs, and we are going to win it," Sumrall said.
  16. Whichever staff handles the distractions better can prepare better. I loved seeing Vince on TV yesterday. I don't know if Vince has 100% access to the team, but he sure can help the players stay focused, I believe. lm sure everyone here remembers Vince "Whoever wants to beat Ohio St. show up at xxx hour". Obviously I don't remember the exact quote but the Ohio St. victory and the Alabama victory this year are comparable. I am not personally in favor of any additions to play packages. I think the team changed when Brooks went down. I remember typing that when he went down we weren't going to win the Big12 without him. Did Sark really discover over the middle passes after Brooks went down? I have seen a few over the middle passes since Brooks. I think Washington will have trouble preparing for all we can do offensively. And Ewers hasn't run the ball, except for the one run yesterday, since getting injured, so with him 100% healthy that is another aspect Wash should prepare for. This team reminds me of possibly only two teams, the 2004 and 2008 teams. No team should ever be compared with the 2009 team, being held together by a dominant QB and one receiver on offense. I believe both the 2004 and '08 teams had a will to win and a next man up philosophy this team has. This team has improved vastly as the season went on much better than any of Mack's teams. I think this team is much more versatile on offense. This team has enough good RBs to run the wishbone, and enough really good receivers to run the run and shoot. Of course none of that matters. At this point, there are only three factors remaining. Luck, injuries, and the football gods. And we all know the football gods owe us big time for January 2010. It is payback time.
  17. We are going to win, so it’s a moo point.
  18. It would be nice if our last Big XII road game was more like the game in Waco earlier this season in which it was never really in doubt that we were going to win comfortably. I think Baylor was 10x as motivated to send Texas out with a loss, but they're fucking awful this year.
  19. All this handwringing (I’m doing it too) for a team we have a .750 record against. Of our 5 losses to them, 3 were in Ames. Texas has whooped that ass in Ames 7 times. We are going to win. Likely going to be ugly and come down the last couple of drives, but we are winning.
  20. OK people, hear me out. We are going to win this game. Why, you ask? Well pull up a chair and listen to this truth serum. 1. Iowa State is a pretty good football team. They have good coaches, they have good schemes, but they do not have players that can really threaten us outside of maybe Jayden Higgens. Last year they survived on running the same pass route to the same guy over and over again in critical situations to move the chains. That guy is gone, the QB who threw those passes is in gamblers anonymous. The skill talent is not nearly as dangerous as last year, although they have two quality receivers. Rocco Becht has become a serviceable QB for them this season, but he is not a run threat, having run for a total of 81 yards all season. That means we get to play things a bit more honestly instead of selling out to stop the QB run like we did against Houston - which opened up all of those deep crossing routes. 2. They do not have an explosive run game. Their leading rusher has 460 yards on the season. I think we will shut that down very quickly and make them one dimensional. 3. Referees - What?! Fuck B12 Refs amirite? Yeah, you are right, except this. When we get late into the season and there is a B12 team in the running for the CFP or BCS, historically the refs tend to give some calls to the teams in the hunt. It means money for the conference, it means money for the schools, and they get to decide that maybe a missed PI or holding call will be soothed by a couple million dollars extra to the school that season. 4. You know who won't be soothed? Matt Campbell. I fully expect his head to explode off of his shoulders and shoot into space due to the blood pressure when we start beating their asses. Death of a coach on the field is always distracting for a team. 5. Sark has figured out the 3-3-5 flyover defense to an extent in the passing game. He spent a good portion of the game in trips sets, which forced the defense to come out of their shell and declare their coverage. Gundy did this earlier in the season and I think Sark caught on and used it against TCU. That is why we were getting those deep shots in the first half, and how we got 1 on 1 coverage to AD Mitchell on the crucial third down play late in the game. Ewers went for over 300 on Saturday against a team running exclusively 3-3-5. I think we do it again this week to clean up the reads for Quinn pre snap. 6. Iowa States top 3 leading tacklers are all DBs. That is a problem. Their top LB has 21 tackles on the year. That tells me that they have front 7 issues. If they want to keep those safeties back trying to confuse the pass game, we should have some room to run provided Sark doesn't get as predictable as he got last week. I was literally screaming for an RPO in the fourth quarter. I expect Iowa State to come out with their safeties deep and prove that we can run the ball before they break their shell. So long as Baxter and Blue run patiently and not up the backs of our linemen, I think we will see some quality rushing yards this week. To me that all adds up to a road W provided we don't run into some bullshit 40 MPH wind with a -5 windchill.
  21. BYU - 25 pass, 35 rush KSU - 37 pass, 37 rush It needs to be closer to 35-40 rush and 20-25 passes if we are going to win with MM. KSU 34th in rushing defense, TCU 70th They lost DL Winters (14.5 TFL, 7.5 sacks) DL Horton (15 TFL, 10.5 sacks, 1 FF). Their defensive numbers are down across the board along the front 7. KSU ran for 343 yards, ISU ran for 215, SMU 158, WV 201, Tech 146
