I didn’t have a ticket for the finals that day and in the hotel lobby I was asking around some of the Pitt administrators and staff if anyone had an extra ticket. One of the assistant coach’s wives tr

Sure is.   The UNC v FSU game should be interesting  to earn the right to play Tech

Hogs deserve to lose just based on their shitty, stupid uniform.

May be scum of the earth as a person but boy can Pitino coach, Iona up 18 on Niagara at the half.

Iona blows a 24 point lead, but hangs on to win 70-64.

Seton Hall and Georgetown going down to the wire with Gus Johnson on the call.

Prepare yourself.  Ruined might be a bit strong, but we'll likely see a forfeit or a team with only 5-6 players get beat by an inferior squad. I'll just be happy if I get to watch some March Madness. It's the COVID tournament with no Duke or Kentucky, possibly no Kansas or Virginia.  Shame for Gonzaga if they finally put it all together and have to have an asterisk. But I suspect not one single Spokanite will care. I sure wouldn't. The only truly ruinous thing that could happen would be if the FF got derailed. I don't care if it's Purdue, Rutgers, Liberty and Clemson.  Just give me my one shining moment.

I have never seen an asterisk next to a champion’s name, only next to a blank space.

If Gonzaga wins the tournament, they will be the champs.

I am fully onboard The Fighting Juwan Howards’ bandwagon if The Fighting Shaka Smarts don’t win it all.

Would have loved having Howard teach Sims & Jones how to work the High-Low Post.

Akron/Buffalo(CBSSN) about to head to OT if Buff doesn't hit a game winner with 1.1 left.

And we have OT after Buffalo made a horrible turnover under the Akron goal giving the Zips a chance to win in regulation and they had a good look.

Oregon state thumping Oregon right now. Need to hang on. Nothing is ever wrong with the ducks losing.

Michigan's Senior (and leader) Isaiah Livers is done for the year with a broken foot. This is a huge blow to Michigan and their chances in the tourney. Going to be tough to replace his ball handling, and 3 point shooting as well as losing a dude who has been with the team for 4 years and went to the championship game already.

Agreed but, it's Michigan, so I take a perverse pleasure in their troubles.

Holy S.

UNC went on a 42-4 run against Notre Dame.

Score went from 59-47 to 96-49 at one point.

Wow. Really touching moment on the CBS pregame show where they had Damian Chong Qui from Mount St. Mary’s on a zoom call and then connected his dad on a zoom call and they both got pretty emotional. That was great tv.

You could also say Michigan is hanging with Ohio State.

I could make a wisecrack that I was wrong and Michigan isn’t hanging with Ohio State but I’m a realist and maybe a little bit of a pessimist in order to counter my implicit bias. I assume the game will be close at the end, just like it was during their regular season game. I don’t know the stats but I’d bet the Bucks had the lead for most of the time in both games. Michigan was just raining threes in Columbus. It was heartbreaking.

Marty DipSmith - "It feels like a Bama football game here."

That's because the SEC refs are doing their usual thing.

Also, tOSU has a habit of giving up leads late in the game. I’m never comfortable.

Well, Buckeyes are looking good with 13 point lead with about 4 minutes left.

Yeah, I’m betting you didn’t watch the Minnesota and Purdue games. You’d be surprised by how easily they can let a lead slip away.

Haven’t seen Buckeyes play but looks like #32 is trying to give the game away to Michigan.

Couple of big misses at the FT for UTenn, chance to take lead late in game.

I hate this era that every game winning attempt has to be a fucking 3. Why not drive in and draw a foul...

Yep.  You called it 100%.

That was a good look, looks like Bama may survive, not too sure they deserve to but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Contested step back 3 for the win? That’s some Shaka Smart play design

I can't even tell if this is about Michigan or Tennessee

Didn’t get why they did not go inside to #1.

Why not both

The dirty secret about college basketball is that most final possessions in close games are terrible. Go look at some of the famous buzzer-beaters in March Madness history.
