It's gotten so bad that the entire national media, who never gives a shit about the Falcons btw, has been clowning on how awful Zac Robinson is at calling plays.  Every week Kurt Warner watches the tape and then tweets about how stupid the entire offense looks.  It's just great players being hamstrung constantly by poor coaching.

Past just the offensive woes, Morris is a do-nothing, word salad loser.  The NFL is a parity league.  The difference between the bad teams and the playoff teams is actually pretty thin.  So the small shit matters.  But the Falcons never get any of that right.  They're reactive instead of proactive.  Everyone knew Koo was cooked last year as a kicker.  But people liked Koo.  The fans liked him, his teammates liked him, and Morris liked him.  So instead of being proactive about solving their kicking issues they kept him around and gave him another chance.  Turns out, yeah, he was still cooked.  So then they had to scramble to find a kicker and they're rolling out this idiot Romo who missed the game tying XP yesterday.  Same deal with their woes in getting the play calls into Penix.  It was a problem in the 1st game of the season versus Tampa.  They did nothing about it.  It was a problem against the Vikings, but they won, so they did nothing about it.  Then they go to Carolina, can't get the play in, call a timeout to avoid a delay of game, and then off the time out STILL can't get the play in and get a delay of game anyway.  Penix is panicking because he has no time to read the defense before the ball needs to be snapped, he melts down, and the Falcons get blown out 30-0.  THEN, after that debacle, they decide to make some changes.  Find a scapegoat to fire in the WR coach and move ZRob down to the sidelines.

The organization is ass from the top down.  Blank has this halfwit Wormtongue motherfucker in Rich McKay whispering in his ear and they always go the easy route.  Wanna find a real coach that can change the culture?  Nah.  Let's hire Blank's billionaire buddy's nepo baby son, Arthur Smith who has never been a head coach.  Well shit, he didn't work out, what now?  Find a real coach to change the culture and turn this team around?  Fuck no.  Let's hire a guy who was already the coach for us before and was ass at it.  We know him, we're comfortable with him, and he says all the right things.  Can't coach worth a lick, but hey.  Now the Falcons are staring at eight seasons without a playoff win.  They traded their 1st round pick away for next year.  And they're going to start having to pay big time 2nd contracts for all this talent they're wasting in London, Bijan, Pitts, etc. while doing nothing to develop their young QB.

A Wormtongue reference in a discussion about NFL franchise leadership.  I love it.

Does that mean Jerry Jones is Sauron?  He definitely hasn’t seen a ring in a long time.

next play is a terrible pass attempt to pitts, bijan never looked at. 3rd and 5 now.

3rd and 5, they again never look at bijan, penix throws into double coverage looking for putts, drive over.

bijan’s one touch: 11 yards after getting hit in the backfield

every single other play combined: 5 yards

i had to watch vince young play for jeff fisher, i had to watch jamaal play for todd haley, and now ive had to watch bijan play for art smith and raheem morris. WHY GOD WHY.

See, that's what good coaching staffs in the NFL do.  They lean on their good players.  JT had THIRTY TWO carries in the game.  Bijan had seventeen.  I guess the Falcons are content with letting Penix throw wildly inaccurate balls all over the field while they repeatedly go 3 and out.

Good news is we're one step closer to Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson being shit canned so maybe some competent people can come in and coach the team.  Though knowing Arthur Blank I'm sure he'll find a way to hire another moron.  Maybe Eberflus is looking for yet another HC job after his bang up defensive coaching in Dallas.

I blame the guy that broke down how he’s going to break the most all purpose yards in a season record..  It’s been all down hill since then.

I had a roommate that told me that the Saints contract Ricky Williams signed with Master P was genius because it was so incentive-based that there was really no limit to how much money he could make based on how much he would produce.

If he’s a scheduler/planner, it might be the same guy.

first half: 16 carries, 93 yards, 2 td, falcons score 21

3q: 2 touches, 2 yards, falcons score 0

b/t 3q and 4q: falcons run six consecutive offensive plays w bijan in the sideline, bring him in on 3rd and 1 and hand it off five yards deep in the backfield where he’s immediately tackled.

raheem morris is black art smith.

3rd and 1 for the falcons, bijan is on the sideline, and they run a toss to allgeier for no gain. someone wake me up from this nightmare.

4th and 1, bijan still on the sideline. why did they even draft him?

Watching allgeir steal TDs from Bijan has pissed me off all year. Doesn't help that I drafted Bijan first in fantasy.

I don’t really understand why he is apologizing. The game was commonly referred to as STQ. He shouldn’t ever reference the game, but if you do, just shut up. There is zero reason to apologize.

Of course there is. Apologizing when you make a mistake, which he did, is the grownup thing to do.

Why do some now view apologizing as a sign of weakness?

I view apologizing when you don't need to as a sign of weakness.

We used to call that “Kill the man with the ball” growing up, but that might have been a regional difference in nomenclature.

Heard it called by all of "Kill the man with the ball", "Tackle the man with the ball" and "Smear the queer" growing up in DFW.

Fun game. So was "King on top of the mountain".

Whitewashing childhood games now?

Millennial gray-washing, please.

Of course we all called this game smear the queer when we were kids. Of course that was always homophobic and societally we've recognized that. Tying up your masculinity in refusing to acknowledge, apologize, and move on from a minor gaffe like this would make you a giant pussy. Bijan is not that guy.

I don’t view it as weakness. I view it as him being a nice guy. I do think it caves into pressure from idiots. Bijan didn’t name the game. He did nothing wrong.

That's just because you're a sociopath.

Nah I just dont believe in apologizing for something Im not sorry for just because people pressure me to do it. I think its weak. Bijan was probably actually sorry.

So where does Bijan play on his second contact? It damn sure will not be Atlanta. What a waste of a generation talent.

Atlanta needs a new coach. I like Penix, I think. Bijan and London are studs. Pitts can be sometimes.

Yes, he did. He feels he did too. It wasn't intentional. But when you accidentally hurt someone, you apologize.

I encourage to look up what a sociopath is.

Smear the queer was a game long before homosexuals started using the word to self-identify.  So, no, it hasn't "always been homophobic."

Bijan is rolling his eyes and just wants unwanted attention to go away. The reaction to his comment was much more harmful than naming the game itself.

This and Justin Herbert’s hot mic attempted rebuffing of hot Laura Rutledge are the two biggest non-stories that we as a society trump up to be big things. They aren’t. A lot of self-important people in media, and that definitely includes social media.

Calling the game that wasn’t homophobia. Playing it certainly was not homophobic. It’s self-assured accusations and labels like that that would cause me to ignore my PR team’s crafted apology. But Bijan is younger and probably just wants the world to quickly forget. I get it.
