They've done one of those for every senior and potential early Draft guy today

Yeah, I noticed that when I clicked on their Twitter page. But they've also been posting other CJ things recently, such as that PFF graphic and some of his USC highlights.

Ok, I'm new here. Can someone please explain why the hatred of Fuck Chip Brown? I mean, I know that only 5% of his predictions come true and about the story about the Texas program at signing day. Why the hatred?

He ran an active measures campaign against UT because his feelings got hurt.

Well there was the time he released a hit piece on the program right before NSD that convinced a 4-star recruit (Nik Bonitto) to flip to OU. That was neat.

Big road win as I recall.

Not sure if sarcastic but it was a big win considering the Clones turned out to be a pretty salty team.  The game I’d like to forget but can’t seem to is the Halloween night game 2 Year’s earlier. I usually remember it at 3 am when I wake up in a cold sweat screaming.

Oh you mean when we got blanked by Iowa State? Yeah, I try to forget that, too. That and losing to Kansas. And then Maryland.

Mehringer seems like the kind of douche that would schedule his wedding on a Saturday in the Fall.

My very good friend did that for Maryland game last season. A bunch of us were in a Catholic church in Dripping Springs streaming the game in the back pews. In my friend's minimal defense, the priest conducting the wedding service was the bride's brother. We'll never let him live it down.

I strongly support him in doing this. I even more strongly support him naming Beck as his best man. Perhaps an October date?

Giles can bring a date but at the last minute she'll find something else to do.

You know the story about signing day and you still ask the question, why the hatred for Chip Brown? Obviously, being in Arky has diminished your mental capacity. Also, Fuck Chip Brown!

Chip sucked off little Lincoln for money and was still short on his gambling debts.    He then conspired with Boren, Switzer, Stoops and Riley to drop a hit piece against Texas that any sane person would know would have a negative effect on Texas recruiting.  His boss Bobby Burton was clueless and was told about it.  A 4 star Florida linebacker picked OU because of the hijinks.  (allegedly)

Chip got a line of credit at that Oklahoma casino and is still in a major hole.  (allegedly)  Switzer's old wrinkled balls are next in line for attention.

Jeff Howe: Anonymous coaches dish on Texas ahead of Herman's second season

A must-read portion of the team previews within the annual Athlon Sports Big 12 preview magazine is what opposing coaches have to say about a specific program. The publication got information from anonymous coaches about the Longhorns entering the second year of the Tom Herman and published the thoughts of some of those coaches about a team Athlon predicts to go 9-3 during the regular season and play for the Big 12 title. One coach stated what’s been obvious to anyone who has followed Texas in the post-Colt McCoy era. Whether it was Garrett Gilbert, David Ash, Case McCoy, Tyrone Swoopes, Jerrod Heard, Shane Buechele or Sam Ehlinger, the Longhorns haven’t received a desired or appropriate level of consistent quarterback play needed to win in the Big 12.

“Let’s be honest here, too. Texas has struggled because Texas has been average at best at quarterback,” the coach said. “You can’t play in this conference and be average at quarterback and win big. The quarterback is everything at every school in college football, but even more so in this conference. It’s the lifeblood.”

To the coach’s point, the Longhorns won their two most recent Big 12 titles (2005, 2009) with arguably the two best quarterbacks in school history — Vince Young and Colt McCoy — pulling the string offensively. The 2018 squad doesn’t have either of those legends around to take command of Herman’s pro-spread attack, but one coach thinks Ehlinger could be the answer the program has spent nearly the entire decade trying to find. That’s if Ehlinger cuts down on the mistakes he made late in games last season, particularly the turnovers in close losses to USC, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

“Sam Ehlinger is a tough kid, a battler,” the coach said. “I could see him developing into a guy they can win with. But he has to be smarter. He made some really poor decisions last year that cost them games. Not field position or possession — I’m talking games. His ball security was a big issue. He’s young. He’ll learn.”

One thing Ehlinger did well as a true freshman was he allowed the Longhorns to manufacture a running game with his ability to extend plays. However, the fact that his 385 rushing yards were the lowest total by a Texas leading rusher since 1958 speaks to the hard time the Longhorns had trying to move the ball on the ground in 2017. To that point, one coach Athlon spoke with had some harsh takes about the Texas running game, or lack thereof last season. “You want to talk about Texas tough? That team can’t run the ball,” the coach said. “We were more concerned with Ehlinger running the ball than anyone else. When you can’t run the ball, a majority of the time it’s because you can’t get a push up front. I can’t remember the last time the Texas offensive line scared us. They’re not pushing anyone around. That’s where it has to start for them.”

Nearly the entire section of the Texas preview where opposing coaches sounded off on the Longhorns was devoted to critiques of the offense. It could be that Todd Orlando and the defensive staff gained a tremendous amount of respect around the conference for what the Longhorns were able to do last season, but whatever the case the only mention of the defense was a coach commenting on how much better the Longhorns were compared the final season of the Charlie Strong era. “They got better on defense as the year went on,” the coach said. “They were nothing like the year before.”

That’s a bunch of Captain Obvious crap.

Its not something we all weren’t aware of but it’s truly infuriating. If I were Hand I’d print this shit out, laminate it and put it inside every OL locker until each one earns it taken down.

Is this the best reporter on the UT Football beat, Y/N?

kinda like to read his report.

Burt has always been a favorite of mine...

Stuck in there while excelling at track and watching him block is a treat when he clearly has to be frustrated with our inability to block for QB long enough for him to truly break loose.

yeah, he has had some drops, but I still like watching him play.

hopefully this year

Indeed. The last time I remember the line punking anyone around of significance in the last 10 years was against ou in 2015.

does anybody know if/when USC tickets will be available?  or am i already too late?

They went on sale to season ticket holders only. I guess they may open it up to everyone if they don’t sell out, but they were in pretty high demand.

Not sarcastic at all.  I actually went to Ames because I thought it was a big game.  Defense bailed us out.
