If he's miserable, he's doing a great job of hiding it.

Lmao. “We prepared all week to score we just didn’t”

might as well start saying that. On and on and on with this clown. One thing we don’t prepare for in big games after a bye week is being prepared.

From things I've heard the NFL does not have a positive view of Sark so his interest in going to the NFL isn't met by teams.

So we just have to hope that he's willing to change. Hope he's willing to shed the loyalty to assistants who aren't doing their jobs. Hope he's willing to coach his players harder. Hope he's willing to hold people accountable when they aren't doing what they should be doing. I'm not holding my breath.

A 9-3 season being disappointing is still better than the shit we dealt with in late stage Mack, Charlie Strong and most of Herman's tenure, but at this point I'd be surprised if Sark ever won a title.

Well, that makes it all ok then.

No. That's not what I'm talking about at all. Every coach in the world looks miserable on the sideline when they are losing. Most of them look miserable in game when they're winning.

Sark is just trying to save face so he doesn’t look like he got totally out coached despite that being plainly obvious to everyone. It’s a pretty disgusting move honestly. Just take responsibility and don’t the blame the players, Sark. Flood, Akina and Sark failed this team this offseason and only two of those will get fired for it.

True.

I am frustrated with this season, too.  And I have a lot of questions, like how the hell did an offensive guru forget to get an offensive line?  Etc.

But it is also true that we won a conference championship for the first time in over a decade and made it to the semifinal twice.  Obviously, we wanted to finish one or both of those runs, but it's worth remembering that for all of Ohio State's nonstop success for about 25 years, they've only won 3 championships.  It is really, really hard to finish the deal.

It's also worth remembering that most of them wanted to fire Ryan Day a bunch of times over the last two or three years.

I have a feeling Sark will make this decision for us.  But if he doesn't, all we need to do is portal in experienced O linemen and watch Lockett and Ffrench bolster the WR corps, and we're probably right back into playoff contention next year.

Or, Sark's deficiencies as a coach are such that the last two years were as high as he can take us, and we might waste two or three more years proving that.

I honestly have no idea anymore.

Why are our options Sarkisian or Herman or Strong? I don’t recall Ohio State hiring any of the three.

I don't know that he's miserable due to his personal life issues, and if he is, I think he probably knows he can't do a geographical to fix them.  Geographical is drunk code for moving/running away from a situation.

If he's sideline-miserable, I think it's because he knows he fucked the dog with the OL and maybe some of his other decisions in the off-season.  With the OL and a brand-new QB, he put himself in a situation that any coach, including Kirby, would be hard-pressed to coach their way out of.

It's too bad it has come to this, whatever the reason, but the tale will be told this off-season.

Trey Owens got passed by a scrub from Troy. That’s nobodies fault but his own.

The fact that a player whose entire development came from outside the Texas program from such a well known QB school like Troy (this scrubs 3rd school where he didn't start) over the Qb this staff evaluated, recruited and didn't develop is very much the fault of the staff not the player.

I actually see that situation differently. I wish the staff would ruthlessly bring in outside talent from the portal to challenge players they recruited from high school. For some weird reason we do that a defensive line, wide receiver and quarterback but not at other positions. I do not view the Trey Owens situation negatively at all. I only wished we did that at corner, running back and offensive line as well.

I fully agree that pulling in players whose fundamentals and skills were taught to them by a different staff yields better on field results than players who are not taught fundamentals and skills by out staff. What I don't track is how the reality of players with skills and fundamentals from outside the system being substantially better than those from within isn't an a Texas coaching issue.

What's worse at the QB position we've seen players taught fundamentals outside the system get worse during their tenure at Texas.

By your  logic we should stop all recruiting efforts of high school talent and just get portal talent from other coaches who actually know what the fuck they're doing.

I’m done with sark. He’s lost all confidence from me. Hire an OC or GTFO. He does not have what it takes as the head of the offense. He needs to manage an organization, make sure we have the best coaches for fundamentals, philosophy, opponent research, and game prep. He needs to make sure along with a GM that we are getting the best players and leaving no holes in the roster, and he needs to let go of the fucking play calling because he’s becoming bad at all of it because he insists he’s the best. He’s not. He’s mid. Mid don’t cut it with me, it may cut it for Texas but not for me.

I’m not going all in with this mother fucker of a program again until sark hires an OC or he’s gone.

That’s not what I said at all. You took what I said and ran off somewhere else with it. Texas should recruit the best players AND continue to look at the portal for players to compete with your home grown talent. It’s not necessarily an indictment on your development. That’s the Dabo Sweeney line of thinking. Players are all on different development timelines and you want to make sure you are not limiting your roster. Sark punted on offensive line, corner back and running back this offseason and we are paying the price now for it.

I have three major concerns with bringing in an OC. First, Sark would still be in charge of practice schedule and keeping the NFL style and a clear lack of focus on fundamentals would likely continue. (No development changes)Next, there is a massive flaw in talent evaluation and that ends on Sark's lap. Bringing in a new OC doesn't fundamentally improve that because Sark tbe genius is still making the call. (No evaluation changes) Finally, its the HC who determines how and when accountability is met out for players who consistently fail. Wingo is the clearest recent example of making massive mistakes and being right back in next series, but there are far too many just like him. This won't change under a new OC. Hence, discipline issues will most likely continue which is a massive one for this one. Close to the most penalized team in the nation.

On his claim on preparing for the onside kick, has anyone looked at the prior couple of kickoffs?  I bet they show our front dropping back too soon and someone on the uga staff noticed and let Kirby know the opportunity is there.  And of course we didn't self scout and realize we were doing anything wrong because, well, we're not the most detail oriented staff.

Kirby's dragged his nuts over most everyone's face.

Honestly for a second when they completed the onside kick, when he started celebrating I thought he was doing that gesture with his nuts like they were too big lol

Here's the thing.  I think if Sark was purely OC, he could do it.  But problem is, he needs a functional OL that can actually get some run game going.  He needs a good back and a true #1 WR.  Player personnel evaluation is THE job of the HC and he failed that this off season.

Here's what I would do in the off season:

1. Transfers for OL, change evaluation approach to "big humans"

2. Fix RB room (will that be Cooper?)

3. Off season need to be even more physical

4. Take all the money from Wingo and Moore and PAY CAM COLEMAN.  Need to have that one true WR#1.

5.  Fix DB coaches.

6.  Get rid of Banks (because he's clearly not doing his job on the special team front while Sark is devoted to play calling during the games)

He said that before anybody saw this team in a live action game. If you still believed that after the Ohio St game you have no one to blame but yourself.

You don't hold Sark responsible for our current QB in system being far worse than a non-starter from Troy.

You think we should get more players from the portal because there are issues with Texas current players at multiple positions being worse than the talent taught outside the system.

Its okay if you like getting talent not taught by our staff because its obvious that players coached elsewhere have better skills and fundamentals. However, if you can't understand why players from outside the system being preferential to players evaluted and developed in the system at QB, OL, DB and RB is a major coaching issue I can't help you.

Penalties and telling the broadcasters it would be a special teams trick play and then letting the onside kick happen is proof enough he’s in over his head. The difference between good and the best may be a lot of things but it for damn sure involves attention to detail.

His teams don’t have it; he doesn’t have it.

While everything was going to shit he was honed in on the next offensive series. A 4th down conversion, a 4th down free play, busted coverage TD and recovered OSK later and offensive play calling didn’t matter
