Again I will say I think it's pretty telling that Adam stayed on the team after Leach's departure when he easily could have transferred, and was seemingly well liked by his teammates.

He actually made some big plays in the following season. Not many, but I remember him making a couple of huge plays when we beat a top 5 OU in Norman.

We have had a chance to laugh at Tech a lot, despite them spoiling a couple seasons like 2008 and to a lesser extent, 2002.

But one of the funnier things I ever saw was when we played at Lubbock in 2004.  I was doing some hunting in the area so went to the game.  This is when VY started taking off and when Greg Robinson was the DC.  (Robinson's scheme was as good against the Air Raid as Carl Reese's was bad). We were absolutely skull fucking them up and down the field.  It was 48-14 in the fourth quarter and one of their midget WRs had just picked up 20 meaningless yards against our third string corner.  The WR got up and started talking shit to the DB right in his face.  The DB just pointed at the scoreboard.

I discovered the Austin360 board, back in ‘96, on Netscape. The AAS had message boards for all the major Texas and B12 programs. The Longhorn bbs was the most trafficked, and it was real easy to view the others.

The TT board on Austin360 was interesting. The small community was in harmony about:

Texas had nothing over TT

TT fans were better fans than Longhorn fans.  The Texas fans were jerks

TT had overtaken Texas, as a program, if people would just pay attention, and was in process of surpassing the Horns.

It’s funny how much time can pass without things changing at all.

Naw, man. In 1996, they believed they were in top. They had gone to the Cotton Bowl three years in a row (‘91-‘93), won the conference four in a row, and believed their ‘95 loss to Texas was a total fluke after beating UT 10 out of 11 from ‘84 to ‘94. They were a total smug bunch.

They hadn’t done shit, nationally, but they were beating Texas and that was mattered the most.

They excelled in being sanctioned by the NCAA with bowl bans for blatant cheating during their “best years ever” record.
