He said himself he didn’t know if Quinn was going back in at the half.

. . . and (bear with me here) he put Quinn back in at the half.  I know it's hard to see shit right in front of your face and understand the implications, but we have the facts right in front of us.

How about we be concerned with the fact that Quinn was so mind fucked he had to be pulled you dense skulled mother fucker! Generated 17 yards of offense in a half. Unfucking acceptable.

It's a perfectly legitimate concern.  Now tell me that you think Sark is either (a) too stupid (b) too egotistical or (c) on the take.

Every team has a relative weak spot.  Ours is QB.  Deal with it.  All we should be wanting is for the QB who gives us the best chance of winning to be on the field.  That's all that matters.

The fact is the ship has sailed on making the switch to Arch. I do think Arch would’ve given us the best chance at winning if he had remained the starter from Georgia on. Half a season of reps would’ve been enough to get him ready for the playoff. I don’t think we would’ve seen worse outcomes to this point because let’s be honest, Georgia is the only good team we’ve faced and they pushed us around.

But now, with two games left in the regular season? You have to roll with Quinn. Opportunity missed imo. But I am very afraid that he is going to piss down his leg against aggy. We might win bc of our defense but I’m not expecting much from the O. And I can’t see Quinn leading us to wins against anybody in the playoff outside of a byu or Boise state

If we could pin this post it would drastically limit the back and forth on the thread.

Sark tells you what he thought when he had to pull Quinn in the UGA game. If Arch scores points you never see Quinn again.

“If Arch played better he’d be starting”

yea that’s the mans point.

It's a terrible point. He was thrown into the lion's den with no starter reps all week with an offense that was already sputtering.

I wonder how some would feel on here if Arch never entered the UGA game. Those 2-3 drives are doing a lot of heavy lifting in the "Arch isn't ready" camp.

No, Sarks opinion based on 2 years of practice and in game reps is doing the heavy lifting. Either you trust that or you don’t in which case Sark isn’t the guy.

I know how I'd feel. I'd remember the crazy-stupid shit he did when he wasn't throwing bombs in his two starts and say "he isn't ready." Do you think he should start at Kyle?

I think he's stubborn. I get why. It's ideal for the QB transition to play out the way he wants for recruiting purposes. It's healthier for the program this way.

I just hope it doesn't burn us in these remaining games, but all the signs are there right now.  If we're gonna stick with Quinn, take off the training wheels and kid gloves and expect more out of him.

I think Sark should do more to make sure he's ready as a contingency plan at Kyle Field.

Let's not forget that Quinn did far better in the 2nd half against UGA than he had been doing when he took a seat.  60%, 194 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, UT outscored UGA 15-7.  Mind-blowing?  No.  But he somewhat redeemed himself.

Exactly how is he better than Sam?  Are you basing that on winning a championship in a mediocre big 12?

Could you imagine Sam with this level of talent and this Oline? He would have won a fucking Heisman.

yep. if you bench ewers for arch at any point this season then anything short of a national title is a disaster. it would be such a huge and unneeded negative storyline for this team to have to deal with. it’s makes sense why sark would believe in his own ability to guide this team to a title with QE at the helm, and it’s certainly a much safer option than the alternative. still, barring some sort of divine miracle or disney movie, freaky friday, rookie of the year situation occurring with quinn, he is who he is, and who he is is not the type of qb or leader who can guide this team to reaching its full potential.

I get your point, but isn’t it a negative storyline that Sark is keeping the better QB, who gives us the best chance to win on the bench? Who the fuck wants to play for a coach that does that?

I still think one of sarks biggest mistakes when he got here was running Sam off for the likes of Casey and Hudson. Sam's NIL money would have been Astronomical.

No idea how this all went down.  I don’t think Sam ever gets recruited by Sark, but I bet he’d do damn well for him.  If he wasn’t serious about bringing Sam back, that was poorly done.

I loved Sam but I'd go with Parcells on this one.

I think I remember seeing something about Sark asked Sam to come back but  Sam was ready to move on

Yeah, remember what happened year 1 of sark?

Yep, and everyone LOVED Sam. He was also not a complete potato in front of the camera and had a pretty good amount of charisma.

This is like saying Bijan didn't make any NIL money the first year of NIL lol.

Arch threw a few of the worst passes I've ever seen in my life against ULM, just total fucking idiot throw into triple-coverage passes. I think our coaches know what they're doing in this matter.

And the next week against MSU he stopped and started looking to the intermediate routes, while still delivering the bombs in stride.

People can’t get past that ArKansas game but after that the pass protection improved,  the run blocking had moments of some pretty damn good stuff.

Sark doesn’t want his QB to run.  That first year wasn’t so much about winning as building.  Probably easy in his mind to say screw that.  I’ll bite the bullet and build towards 2024.

His touchdown down the sideline to Deandre Moore is a throw Quinn has NEVER made

There’s plenty of valid criticisms of Ewers I don’t know why y’all resort to things that can be proven wrong. 2022 Bama to Worthy. Opposite side of the field I guess.

I swear some of y'all can't really remember stuff and it really feels like a lot of you don't watch a lot of football and rewind and Rewatch and watch on slo mo and look at what happened. Just watch once in real time and highlights.

The one where he had a clean pocket and didn't get hit? I'm talking about the throw where Manning stands in the pocket delivers a perfect throw knowing he's going to get destroyed....Quinn has never made a throw like that.

Quinn has never made a pass like this, period.

Yep Sam's worst season as the QB1 is better than every season we've seen from Ewers, and he was running an antiquated offense that beat him into submission.

Yea I mean it was the same throw but sure if you want to add things to change the argument. Par for the course in this thread.

I didn't change anything....I said Quinn has never made a throw like Arch did to Deandre Moore for a touchdown. You're the one who rant to a throw that is nothing like what I mentioned.

Was he laid out during that throw and still delivered a near perfect pass? The throw to Worthy was a poor throw that Worthy made a great adjustment to catch. Ewers absolutely can not throw back side posts to save his life. Just like the 1st drive on Saturday, Ewers threw the ball over the right shoulder of Golden, who was breaking open on the post route. It's incredible just how poor he is at throwing that pass considering it's a staple of the Sarkisian offense.

Hahahaha I’m sure that was the sentiment on here when it happened. True he hasn’t thrown anything close to that down field since. This whole board was convinced he was the one during those couple drives.

I probably went off the rails a bit but not sure what you mean here.

My point was that we had QB issues.  But also concern that had Sam returned Sark would have tampered his running, which would have limited him.  But I think he kicks ass anyway because he’s a competitor.

Ive watched roughly half the games in the past 25 years live then a majority again.  Don’t recall missing a single game over that time.  Probably played a shit ton more than most on here growing up.  But hey who cares.  Certainly didn’t mess my drawers against those mighty Marlin Bulldogs like some here did.

Ok man. Owned. Lulz. He fucking sucks at throwing over the middle and we’ve had to almost abandon it entirely as a piece of our offense. Be thank you for the pedantry.

You’re such a clown.

He threw a 15 yard dig on the money to Bolden against an 8 man drop. You guys hate him so much you can't member traumatic experiences.

I don’t care about that I care about under the circumstances we find ourselves in which QB gives us the best chance for a title run. It’s an imperfect solution set but I think it’s QE. Now I’m not happy about our odds with him but I do think the chances are near zero with arch and above zero with QE and if the QE we know is there can show up I think we are the favorite.

Agree, but that is a mighty BIG “if”.

Wait, what?  This throw?

Yes, that was a shitty throw bcause Worthy had to adjust his route to come back to the ball. Ewers absolutely can not throw the post where it needs to go which is in front of the WR's outside shoulder. Every time it's thrown to the WRs inside shoulder. Worthy made a great adjustment to make it look like a great throw, but had Ewers put it on his outside shoulder Worthy runs under it without falling down. The best thing you can about this throw was it was general vicinity of Worthy as opposed to 5 yards in front and inside like the throw to Golden on Saturday. The ball needed to be where the A starts, not between the A and L, but that's what happens when you have shitty footwork like Ewers does on that throw.

The camera angle from behind Ewers which shows Cook celebrating the play shows just how bad a throw it was.

Holy shit you are peak Texas fan.  Just the worst collection of whiny, know-nothing misanthropes on the internet.  Remind me to never listen to your hot football takes again.  By the way, Kirk Herbstreit has forgotten more about football than you've ever known and he clearly disagrees.  Maybe stop drinking.
