Confirmed that deal publicly? Wild shit.

Fire that agent immediately, and massive bullet dodged

Fire the agent? What? I want to hire that guy and see what he can get me in the open market. He must be some sort of wizard or warlock or some shit.

Wow. I didn’t realize it was that bad. Texas probably stays aggressive on Utu if they’d have had better clarity.

Still, like Mack with Perrilloux, signs of seriously bad character and playing Texas for leverage were there all along.

Dude is eating up 1.7m of their entire AD revenue share funds allocated for football so they can avoid the clearinghouse. Truly insane for a project guy that got his ass beat every way imaginable at a camp with equal talent.

He signed the deal before July 1st. No impact on rev share. It’s all Double Eagle, it sounds like. Or maybe that’s just year 1.

I wonder if the deal has an out for a coaching change?

Unless he develops into the best tackle in college football, he’d not opt out of 1.7mil per year.  It’s more likely that Cody Campbell won’t see good ROI of that 5.1mil.

Seems like pretty good advertising for both the agent and Tech. But, yes, totally agree that we dodged a huge bullet here based on what he was telling the coaching staff

I wonder what his classroom habits are- or at least will be now that he’s got that much cash secured. I doubt there can be an eligibility requirement since it’s “all NIL” so I wonder what happens if he just doesn’t show up to class. Would the profs get in line to pass him?

Explain this to me. They’re going to say that an oil company paying a college football player 1.7mil is market value? Or do you mean it’s just a problem for next year’s payroll?

Nothing ahead of 7/1/25 is subjected to House compliance/clearinghouse/rev share allocation shit.

Posts like this are so weird because there has been plenty of worrying, whining and gnashing of teeth on this board. What is it that you want?

This is now the 2nd recruitment, at least, in which McGuire has leveraged a recruit’s status to make a fool out of Sarkisian and Texas. I’m not sure what the recourse is, but off the top of my head, telling a recruit if they’re going to visit Tech in any way shape or form, Texas will remove their offer seems like a possible path. Couldn’t do that with most places, but Lubbock and Tech are special circumstances due to the shithole, dumpster fire nature of that place and regime.

itll never happen even tho it should

Mack would've done that

Let’s keep real. He wouldn’t have gotten that money anywhere else. The issue is he played Texas. Bad. As of Monday he was telling Sark, commits, and his high school staff he was committing to Texas.  Texting Turntine saying they would have the internet going crazy if they both commit same day. All while already having the deal with Tech signed. Tech didn’t come out the blue this week. If he didn’t play Texas they most likely sign Lee or the Aggie commit. Ojo was from Texas and said he was committed so the staff allocated the money and set it aside for him. Two staff members thought Lee was better but overall the staff wanted to respect what his family told them.

This.  Be a decent human.

My experiences with documents that contain both "fully guaranteed" and "millions of dollars" leads me to suspect that events may not turn out to be what some people likely expect.

Tech played Texas bad, not the kid.

Staff needs to wake up to today's game if this shit happens again.

so a rough guess is tech can spend about what 50 million over the next 3 years for the rev cap right? that means they have given a project tackle 10 % of all of the money they can legally spend over the next 3 years.  thats pretty fucking ballsy

just asking questions here, but in my naive understanding of the last month's events, can you please share what, exactly our camp was supposed to do when being flat-out lied to?

I don’t mean pull an offer. I mean state openly the minute Tech is involved that if the player entertains them at all, Texas is out.

See above. Not sure questioning the past month, but just noting the reality of Tech’s behavior in the market and what that should mean for Texas any time they’re involved.

tceh are the most aggrieved rig school from our departure.... in their minds they are equals and we owe them forever

kind of like aggy after they stole the orphan 5 money, had an affair before they divorced us, and still wanted to fuck

this is the recruiting version of bleachergate and they can kiss goodbye to any chance of a football game unless it's in the playoffs

Don't wanna start anything but I feel like any kid would pick that kind of money up front.

Tech likely told him to play Texas and do that stupid hat shit
