With nobody in front of him, this was supposed to be his stepping out year, and he just didn't play like a primary receiver.  He's a big bodied, fast receiver that at times, shows an absurd catch radius and should be setting the tone for that group of players.  Maybe next year, but he's not that dude yet, and really shouldn't be until he outright seizes it.

I mean, he did get better numbers-wise. He added 300 more yards and 5 more TD's to get to 50/770/7 15.4 ypc for the season so far, and last year he went 29/472/2 16.3 ypc. His ypc went down a yard, but otherwise he's on the right trajectory. Next season (hopefully) he can learn to catch a pass consistently and win 50/50 balls, or else Sark will have to let Lockett give it a try. I doubt that happens since he lacks a spine, but here we are.

Bobby loves hyperbole and keeps yammering that he's like Roy Williams athletically, which is fucking retarded. He's a great athlete, but he's not even in the same stratosphere as Roy.

Strange. He took some time to adjust, but has been serviceable down the stretch. His last couple games in particular have been solid (yes I know Arky sucks). Unless they have someone lined up, seems like they'd want him back.

Do some of you watch these games with the sound off and your eyes closed? Robertson spent the entire first half getting ruthlessly ass fucked by the Aggie DL and nearly got Arch killed a handful of times. The only reason it looked better in the second half is because in one of the more inexplicable moments of coaching malpractice the Aggies almost entirely abandoned the blitz at halftime.

Yes they had some nice blocks in the run game. Doesn't mean he isn't a massive liability or that we shouldn't do all in our power to upgrade from him in the portal.

Wingo has all the physical gifts to be great but doesn't seem to get the position technically or have the sense to practice / learn it. Maybe he'll grow up this year and realize "potential" means shit the further you get.

Correct. He doesn't seem to do the little things to be great, like using the JUGS machine after practice or on off-days. He's a weak blocker, but he has improved his route running. But yeah, like you said—he doesn't seem to "get it." He's an athlete playing the position, much like Terrell Pryor. He can be great, but he doesn't put in the extra work.

I'm not sure how he believes he will be in the NFL long-term if you don't do the work 365 days a year. It's frustrating because I can see he has the tools and he's gifted, but he doesn't have the same mindset of Jeremiah Smith/Ryan Williams/Bryant Wesco, Jr, etc.

If we bring in someone from the portal to play guard next year, they will definitely have experience playing guard.

I say go after this guy. Transferred from starting G/C at UNM to starting G at UH for this season. Has one year left.

Ethan Burke, Parker Livingstone and Jack Endries were 3 star white guys. Michael Taafe was an unranked walk on.  Matthew Caldwell unranked too. Those 5 crackers have contributed this year aside from STs.

4 of these whiteys had huge games Friday just sayin.

I believe Endries was a walk-on like Taaffe who earned a scholarship. So 2/4 were former walk-on's, while our OG earned all American status, too.

I'll take those kind of crackers all day long. Burke being a three-star is fucking comical. Go look at his HS tape and at no point does he look the part of "three-star." If anything, he looked like a four-star with potential, which he lived up to.

I'll admit Burke didn't quite achieve what I expected after watching the HS tape, though he had a very good career. Thought he would be a ripped 275-280 lb by now but I guess that'll happen in the NFL. Too bad he doesn't have a 5th year.

Burke didn’t quite become Hutch, but he did very well considering his ranking. His best football is ahead of him if he keeps up his work ethic.
Was hoping Vasek would be more impactful by now, but we’ll see if he sticks around to take another crack at it.

Allegedly Easton Royal is going to reclassify or try to reclassify. Unsure if he will enroll this spring or not.

Wow that would be huge to get him locked up asap. LSU full court press coming + visit highs wear off fast

Hmm they blitzed plenty in the 2nd half, that's part of what made the run game effective is they rushed up field too fast and took themselves out of the play.

Also I know both Wingo's TD and Arch's TD were on blitzes.

If he’s already bulked up to 281 in high school, I feel pretty confident saying the weight won’t be much of an issue.

Has he though? Gabe Brooks on 06/03/2025 said he weighed 240lbs. On3 has him listed as an edge at 240lbs. Rivals has him listed as a DL at 250lbs. ESPN has him listed as an end at 235lbs. I watched the Temple Reagan game this year where he had 1 sack and 2 tackles and overall didn't make much of an impact. His stats for 2025 were good, though, 68 total tackles, five sacks, six pass-breakups and a forced fumble. Those stats and watching him play scream DT but he seemed to get pushed around too much when I watched him. Anyway, that's why I called him a tweener. Tell me what you see though in the games you watched.

Buddy, you don't have to like him. I don't really care. But Gerry is reporting today that he's 281 lbs, and you're disputing that with listed weights on recruiting site profiles that are notoriously rarely ever updated. Oh. ESPN says he 235 lbs! Why would anyone give a shit about that? ESPN recruiting is run by a lone intern in a broom closet somewhere in Bristol, they haven't cared about that in years.

Also, ON3 and Rivals are the same thing now. I don't even know how you got two different listed weights there.

Google gave 1 weight for On3 and the link/click through gave a different weight on Rivals. Anyway, he supposedly will start out at edge and move inside when he reshapes his body. He won't see the field for a couple of years from what I can tell.

He was ranked a three star because he is white and had a dad bod especially compared to his classmate Vasek.

I always liked that he was multi sport athlete and lacrosse being the other sport.

Can’t teach motor or long arms.  Great career Burke.  You’d done well.  Now go get a second contract in the nfl.

My guess is mid round pick to an NFL team that likes to moneyball it.

Burke was an all American LAX player who was committed to one of the top LAX programs in the country.   He strikes me as a guy who will have a long NFL career.

He might get drafted really late. He'll probably be a UDFA.

Burke has some really good tape against quality opponents and likely shows an upward trend. Combine that with his measurables and potential and he's a 6th rounder at worst.

Maybe. Fans tend to overrate their own players.

If Charles Omenihu can collect NFL paychecks then surely Ethan Burke can.

This isn't to take anything away from Burke, but that's 2018 Big 12 Lineman of the year Omenihu, and who also had nine sacks his senior year (Burke, by comparison, had three).

Last year in the same position Barryn Sorrel had six sacks.

Omenihu was very big and a grinder on the line who was under appreciated at Texas.
