What does Caserio have up his sleeve? Lots of cap space still available.

He already created space before this move, which some speculated could have been to have space available pre and in-season moves like he had to do last year, but this is now more space than would be needed for that

We all know he'll sign one of these safeties, but it seems like there might be an additional move along with that one

We’ll be signing guys right up to training camp

There’s a certain date where free agents stop counting against your comp pick calculations where Baltimore always waits to sign a bunch of guys. It’ll be interesting to see if Houston starts doing that

Top 30 visits for Houston so far... these visits don't necessarily mean this player is a priority, sometimes they're just to fill in holes in the evaluation that the team might have missed, but frequently players drafted visited the team (it also varies from team to team). Also, teams will purposefully not have some players visit to keep them off the radar

Adisa Isaac- Penn State Edge

Jamal Hill- Oregon LB

Edgerrin Cooper- A&M LB

Qwan'tez Stiggers- Toronto Argonauts CB

Travis Glover- Georgia State OL

Michael Hall Jr- Ohio State DT

Mohamed Kamara- Colorado State DE

Javon Baker- UFC WR

Not sure totally accurate, but as of March 15:

Here’s an updated list of Houston draft picks in 2024:

  • Round 2, 42nd
  • Round 2, 59th
  • Round 3, 86th
  • Round 4, 123rd
  • Round 4, 127th
  • Round 6, 188th
  • Round 7, 238th
  • Round 7, 247th

After having two top-three picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans are officially out of the first round in the 2024 draft. Houston traded its 23rd overall pick and a seventh-round pick for the Minnesota Vikings’ second-rounder (42nd) and sixth-rounder (188th), along with a 2025 second-round pick, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Texans already traded their first-round pick this season when they moved up and selected Will Anderson Jr. third overall in 2023. The 23rd pick was originally the Cleveland Browns, but they traded the pick to Houston, along with other draft capital, for Deshaun Watson in 2022.

Right around now is when the draft should be happening... pro days are all done, so I don't see why a whole extra month needs to elapse. But no, instead it's several more weeks of talking heads repeating the same shit. And stupid disinformation campaigns.

On second thought, maybe the extra time for overthinking/S2 shenanigans is why we landed Stroud...

Still have Top 30 visits and player ranking boards being built by each team over next week or so.

Then the real fun begins where NFL teams practice running mock drafts and build possible trade scenarios in along with planB, planC, planD options.

Also lots of talks behind the scenes on where to move up if player X is still on the board and what will it take to move up.

Not much sleep next 3wks for a lot of NFL teams draft staff, scouts and certain coaches.

There's several draft twitter accounts talking about Jermaine Burton today. I like him in the 3rd or 4th round for Houston if they don't draft a WR earlier and if he's still on the board

Kind of Amon-Ra St. Brown type where he was a very highly regarded recruit who was pretty productive, but seems to be a bit down the board in the draft presumably due to mediocre height/weight while not blowing out testing, but being a very skilled inside/outside WR

Caserio is a P5 football snob

Some things Caserio seems to have prioritized over his past three drafts

- P5 plus Notre Dame
- Team captains, especially this past draft (perhaps Demeco influenced?)
- GPS game tracked speed over testing speed
- Avoiding players with injury histories
- Younger
- Participated in senior/shrine bowl

So… they did tho so they didn’t have to pay Nico right?

No, they did this so they could win right now while Stroud is cheap for the next three years. They'll still pay Nico, imo

This year’s Texans team is the best NFL squad our team has ever fielded. Better than the 93 Oilers by a lot. STEFON DIGGS BABY!!!

Let's see this team pull off a double digit win streak while the coaches have a fight on the sidelines.

It's a 2025 2nd, so it doesn't hurt your 2024 draft viewing experience

Texans get the Bills 2025 5th and  2024 6th rounders as well as Diggs

The Texans are what the Astros used to be. The best run and smartest team in the city.

They key to this is Diggs has to still be very good

So they effectively gave up a mid 3rd for Stefon. Seems like a good trade.

Texans continue making good moves. I believe that Diggs will be cheap as the Bills have already paid a lot of that contract.

About $18.5mm this year

If he's peak Diggs, that's a bargain. If he's last year's Diggs, it's probably a slight over-pay. He'll probably be somewhere in the middle, and it'll probably be about right

None of which is guaranteed. So if he sucks or gets badly injured then you can dump him.

I mean, they just traded a 2nd for him. They're not going to cut him this year

That’s not what I said. But they can, if necessary, in the next 3 years with no cap hit

You responded to a post about how much he's making this year

I think his 2024 salary guaranteed on 3/17, but we were gonna pay that anyway. This can basically be a one-year deal if we need it to, and the cost was basically trading our 1st rounder this year 19 spots…
