Celebrating is fine. Staring down and talking shit directly at the opponent is not fine, although admittedly perhaps there were previous interactions that made it okay. But you can't run around the bases talking shit to everyone including the entire dugout, his ejection was absolutely the right thing to do.

One of the umpire crew's responsibilities is to maintain control of the game. If you allow that and then the next batter is plunked, what do you think happens?

“News: Michael Earley is hiring former Texas A&M shortstop and long-time Major Leaguer Cliff Pennington as an assistant coach,” Brauninger wrote on Twitter. “He will oversee the infield defense as well as coach third base on offense. Pennington spent the last 4 seasons as an assistant at Dallas Baptist.”

Interesting. Wonder if he still leaves had they beat Murray and made it to Omaha.

The UVa AD was waiting in a cemetery in Oxford, NC for last night’s game to wrap up.

Big news for Kansas. Hopefully this is a good sign that more and more programs are going to start committing to college baseball. Thought for sure Dan would only be there for 2-3 years then be off to greener pastures.

Tim Tadlock appears to have the new pitching coach for the Texas Tech baseball team, and it's someone with a professional pedigree.

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball reported Friday through social media that the Red Raiders are bringing on Steve Foster to be the team's new pitching coach. The move comes after parting ways with Matt Gardner, who served in the role for 12 seasons before Tech opted not to bring back Gardner, who has since been hired at Houston.

Foster spent seven years as pitching coach for the Colorado Rockies of the MLB, being hired before the 2015 season and stepping down after the 2021 season to serve the organization in another capacity.
