What just happened on that Mariners challenge with the second baseman being on the grass?

Left heel was barely touching the grass. Both feet must be on the dirt. Result is batter gets first base.

Pretty new rule, only a couple seasons of it. Never seen it called before. I guess they changed the result of a violation (to awarding first base) this year.

Greatest lefty I've seen in my lifetime. Respect.

I’m old so I saw Sandy Koufax pitch. He was from another planet. For me, Randy Johnson edges out Kershaw but it’s pretty close. Steve Carlton is in the conversation as well.

You old.  Yeah, Johnson would be right there.  But peak Kershaw was pretty lethal.

Watching the rockies play "baseball" almost certainly counts as work.

That would have been fucking incredible to see.

Rockies eclipsed the -400 run differential milestone today.  No other team has yet to get to -200.

Next milestone will be 1000 runs allowed, which should happen in around 4 games.

Dodger bully is soooo sketchy.  It’ll be the deciding factor if we win it all.  We have a great starting staff, a great lineup, and a tragic bullpen.  Can we overcome that?

You’re not going to get me to deny he’s had his playoff struggles. But he’s still first ballot.  And there aren’t a lot of those.

Whatever dead years we have for Shohei are going to be worth it.  He is currently the best player that has ever played this game.  I’m certain of that as a long time fan of the game.

He’s neither the best current hitter nor the best current pitcher. How does the fact that he happen to do both well elevate him to “best player ever”?
