Sour grapes and all but this is the customary team comes in with something to prove and puts it on us, then gets blasted in super without even scoring a run. Keep fighting guys

Nothing about flaming out in the Regional is surprising to anyone who understands the game, really knew what they were looking at all season, and knows what it takes to consistently perform at a high level when it counts.  We saw this coming and called it weeks and weeks ago, back when we were on a roll.

The team that caught lightning in a bottle and won the SEC was the imposter.  The team we watched all May and now in the Regionals accurately reflects their makeup and their ceiling.

Better luck next year.

I basically agree. I didn't call that we would flame out but it did seem like we had some kind of magic behind us and we were playing beyond our capabilities.

I hoped that somehow we would recapture it when it mattered but no.

I still think losing Spencer was what ultimately did us in. Hard to easily replace your Friday guy.

We are their super bowl. 99% likelihood they get swept by the Cali boys.

Maybe I do and maybe I don't know what I'm watching, but I was never really convinced this team was that good.  I guess because it was mostly the same old guys that weren't quite it for a couple of years.

Maybe UTSA is better but it's also true that our performance was hampered by some extremely questionable coaching decision on personnel and strategy.  We got out coached badly.  The talent disparity doesn't reflect the outcome.

Start the thread. Someone has to.

Shouldve had enough to get past UTSA. Not putting in Volantis when we had the lead was the mistake that cost us this regional.

Okay, pound K State and we'll see what these guys have left for pitching.

We've still got a shot.

But god damn it's so much easier if you win the first two.  And we had it right there.  Shit.

Agreed, we knew it would be a razors edge to even win three games in a regional.  This team was not built to go through a losers bracket.

Couldn’t Pierce have accomplished this?

No. I mean he did better in the past but his program was falling apart. If he was here this year it would have been a 2019 type disaster.

Schloss is turning this around.

I remember thinking  back in March that there were no easy outs in this lineup. Now it’s full of them. And it’s the same guys.

I think I said at one point that coaching must really matter, because same guys.  But while saying it, I was skeptical that it could matter that much.

Nope. We lost to UTSA with Harrison starting and Grubbs relieving. Unacceptable loss. You literally cannot ask for a better setup.

Again how can you look at this Regional and see us scoring 7, 7, and 15 runs and think "oh damn the hitting let us down"

If we had the pitching performances we had in March we would be wrapping up this Regional.

So Volantis in the top of the 6th? I thought Grubbs was your first move out of the pen? You’re all over the place. Easy to bitch after the fact

Yep, pitching got us to this point. We had a 6-1 lead against these guys and got rocked. The same thing happened during the regular season
