I want to bump us up to the next version of the board software, it was a complete rewrite and was released about 5 months ago and is stable and feature rich.

https://preview.ipsfocus.com/change-theme/?id=2

This is the new theme for it, the colors are not burnt orange, but let me know if this is too far of a departure from the look/feel and I'll try to figure something else out.

Will it include the jump buttons on the top and bottom of the page?  Navigating back to home when switching between forums would suck.

In general, how customizable is it for you to make it a close to this one as possible.  We don't like change.

just some of the look and feel will change. I can customize it pretty heavily.

Definitely a huge departure from how forums and topics are currently displayed. I'd have to see it more fleshed out but, based on that preview, I would keep status quo or go a different direction.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I CAN'T TAKE CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I expect that this was posted in jest, but this is my initial reaction to 10 seconds of looking at the demo link.

I would prefer to keep the interface as as simple (and as consistent with the current layout) as possible. The only thing I would change about the current setup is to bring back rep comments.

*Disclaimer - I really, truly, and perhaps even irrationally hate "change for the sake of change." Not saying that's what motivates @immamac here, but I'm a big fan of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it," especially if "fixing it" requires learning a new way to do an old and familiar task. To me, that's not improving the user experience, it's inconveniencing users for the sake of vanity and/or "validating" the importance to the organization of whoever has implemented the change.

The version of the forum software we are on is deprecated. The new one is just better all around.

Im gonna make a test site and play with it.

If at all possible, please make plain-text pasting the default setting, so that those of us who use dark mode don’t have to see a bunch of janky posts from carried-over formatting. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure this is also fixed.
