Fuck bama.  How the fuck are they always good

Oh, they weren't. Yes, the past 17 years they have been because of Saban, and I'm still in wait and see mode with Deboer, but let's not forget that they were in absolute shambles before Saban's arrival.

Gene Stallings (yes, a NC in 1992, he resigned in 1996)

Mike Dubose was fired after three seasons 1997-2000 (Albert Means haunts him)

Dennis Franchione left after two season to coach at aggy from 2001-2002, then resigned I believe for giving inside information to boosters

Mike Shula was fired after 6 seasons and had wins vacated lol.

They struggled with coaching worse than we did before lucking into Saban.

Ah, shit!!!! I knew I was missing someone and the name just refused to come to me! Ah, what a time to be alive when he was there, too. Yeah, people tend to forget since Saban was there for so long that those guys wandered the desert for a long, long time. It was a beautiful site.

Same with Richt underachieving at Georgia almost yearly.

Not many people know that Mike Price never lost a game at Alabama, then again he never coached a real game, and technically was never really employed by them as he never apparently signed his contract.

Isn't he the one who went to the strip club or is that another one of their amazing coaches? I knew he "coached" there, but I did not know he never lost a game. Pretty amazing and pretty stupid on his part not to sign the contract.

Depends who you believe,  if you go by the story about him written in SI the answer is yes.

I don't remember all the details, but I seem to recall he went to an event in Florida where all of this supposedly took place.

Regardless of what did or did not happen, Price was hired in January 2003 and fired May 2003.  He sued Bama and lost because it was reported he had never signed his contract with them.

He also sued SI and settled with them.

Finished his career as the HC at UTEP and as all Texas fans knows, you can get a hand job in that stadium and no one says shit.

Hey, if Mike Price is stupid enough not to sign a contract, I have no faith he's smart enough to get a handy in those mountains. Only one man, and one man only will be etched into history with that awesome job. I wonder what he's up to today? We know they aren't together.

The way I remember it, he took a stripper back to his hotel room, passed out drunk, she ordered $1000 in room service and maybe some other stuff using the athletic department credit card in his wallet, and bailed out on him.

I have always thought it was a little bit like George Costanza meeting the woman on the subway that ended up handcuffing him to the bed and stealing his $8 and the suit he got at Moe Ginsburg.

SHSU > Oregon St > Wazzu > SDSU > Cal > Louisville > Miami > FSU > Bama

SHSU gets a bye in the 2025 CFP!

This is a little bit like Chandler solving the trail Ross needs to shut down so Rachel doesn’t find out he boinked the girl at the copy place (who was also Seinfeld’s maid/girlfriend, and was Sandler’s girlfriend in The Wedding Singer - she gets around).

People don't remember that Rich Rod was their first candidate.  He turned them down to stay at WVU then moved to Michigsn the following year.  They settled for Saban.
