So I came home from a trip today and find an anonymous gift on my doorstep. I had one of my kids open it in case one of my enemies was trying to take me out. Luckily, all clear. Instead, photos attac

His bowl game performance wasn't great, but I felt like Parker was one of our top 3 receivers this season, and he would be poised for an even better year next season. I guess Sark is confident we're getting a big upgrade at WR....Coleman or bust?

Lol. You claimed the kid asked for 800k even after he is posting HIMSELF to say he was pushed out. So who looks to have the correct information here mr check writer?

So you are saying the kid comes to you, the check writer, to ask for a particular amount and then you go to the coach to see if that amount is in line with what they mentally allocated to said player?

Weird, I read the same tweet you did and I don’t read any of that as “pushed out.” I read that as “I’m not appreciated the way I think I should be so I’m leaving.” I certainly didn’t read the words “pushed out” in there. You’re reading what you want to read.

Texas One fund is in constant communication with agents and the coaching staff and discussing available funds, allotment, needs, etc. They have to be, because yes, they write a lot of these checks. Before the 20 million dollar allotment, they wrote ALL of the checks. This is literally Brandon Harris’s job. They or their agent ask for an amount, and then everyone has a conversation.

9.95ers. Talking heads for the admin. 16-17 kids in the portal is not good. We were just making fun of aggy for this not too long ago.

1 - 9.95ers

2 - Talking heads from the admin

3 - 16-17 kids in the portal is not good

4 - We were just making fun of aggy for this

OK, so, 1,3 and 4 have NOTHING to do with "admin pushing the narrative".

As for #2 - Which talking heads? Where are they saying anything? What are they saying, exactly?

The problem that I am concerned about that @Dahobbs and @Codaxx aren't hearing is that a large reason we've been losing games is because we've had to grow up during the season due to a lack of experience. At the end of 2024 everyone said how Arch was going to come right in and be an immediate upgrade. I was screaming from the mountain top about some of the things I saw him struggling with and sure as shit he did struggle early on.

Sark has a bad habit of of not getting backups reps and keeping his rotations small. That hurt us when receivers went down. That hurt us with running backs. That hurt us on the line. That hurt us even with Arch Manning. If every season 50% of your team is learning on the job you are going to take some lumps that have you on the outside looking in.

Now it's going to be 2026. We are going to be breaking in new backs, receivers, and linemen. On D all 3 levels too. That may cost us a game or two before we get settled in just like it did this year. Then 2027 we break in another new QB and 15 more players from the portal.

See where I am going?

Sometimes you just have to coach up your roster and quit looking for shiny new objects everywhere else. Brennan Thompson just caught over 1000 yards this year. We could've used that. Sometimes the answer to your struggles is already on the bench.

I understand your concern. I share it. But Parker isn't the player the panic to over. There are literally thousands of players in the portal. Every team is going to have 10+ defections. Again, if Parker is out so that Lockett gets actual playing time, are you still upset? I wouldn't be.

Parker is out because he wanted more playing time and the money that comes with it. It isn't greedy. He isn't wrong for wanting it. But Sark and staff aren't necessarily wrong for pushing down his playing time in favor of players with more upside (and that can catch).

There’s really two philosophies and both have pros and cons. One is the Texas one where you go pay the elite athlete and hope he contributes for the one or two years he is here and the other is the Indiana one to pursue older, less-accomplished players who are coachable and highly motivated. Butler, of course, was able to compete at the top level in basketball w teams laden with homegrown seniors.

I find the scramble over the Auburn WR to be slightly concerning, and it may be more disruptive to your team than providing value.

I wonder whether Coleman is the right move as well. I haven't watched him in games to tell and highlights alone don't give you enough information, much less about whether he's a culture fit. Mumble, mumble, something about trust the corches here.

At some point too, it gets frustrating that we don't see more of our highly rated recruits developing. Lockett has flashed but seen little duty and nothing but crickets from Ffrench.

I am not sure but if so, that’s awesome. I do know when I watched him vs Penn State have an incredible game, I was amazed to learn he was the backup! He played cause the starter was hurt. That’s some freaking great coaching and effort on his part.

Eh, Thomas played in the NFL and seemed on an upward swing until multiple foot injuries. If Parker could reliably catch, he may have been worth keeping over other prospects. He couldn't do that and doesn't offer the upside that other players do.

Are you suggesting the coaching staff is lying about Parker’s request? That they’ve lied to one fund to push whatever you think the narrative is they want to push? That they willy nilly risked pissing off Manning by cutting bait on his roomie when they guy wasn’t asking for more money at all? When all the staff had to do was pay him what he was making now and then bench his fucking ass next season, but they instead did all this to…accomplish what exactly?

If you think I am a tunnel vision guy then you haven't been paying attention. This isn't about Parker, this is a trend that I am not liking across the board from Sark and as I said, it's hurt. College football isn't the NFL. You have to come out swinging. We get Ohio State game 2 next year and Tenn, OU, Florida, and Ole Miss game 4, 5, 6, 7. If we come out sluggish we could be looking at 3 quick losses and be out of the CFP halfway through the season. We are losing over 20 players through portal and draft so far. Fifteen of which were on the field for us this season. That's a lot of replacing that needs to be done to be playing at full tilt game 2. That is my concern.

How is Brenen Thompson of all players an example of a guy we should've coached up? He spent 2 years at OU doing what? You think he would've willingly stayed at Texas as WR4+ for multiple years?

And that's not even touching on the fact that he's one of the very very few players Texas lost to the portal and had a good year somewhere else. It's cherry picking. In 2024, should we have coached up Kitan Crawford and BJ Allen instead of grabbing Andrew Mukuba?

I'm suggesting the chain of command doesn't have to report to you if it decides there was no negotiations to be had. You guys come into play when there is interest of working something out. You 9.95ers are something else man.

This 100%. Each season we get the usual verbal diarrhea from the 9.95 crowd about why this year’s recruit class is the best ever, yet so many of them seemingly disappear and never sniff the field. I guess the 9.95s understand what their audience wants to hear.

Just getting rid of his mom is reason enough.

So I can’t figure out how Sark fixes that. If he gives guys more minutes, he does jeopardize a few games, and he creates a situation where he helps those backups get bigger offers elsewhere in the portal.

Maybe Sark could blow out more teams, especially the ones in which Texas is favored heavily, then he could give second and third teamers playing time. And I like Sark, but there's no question he seems to make things harder than they have to be.

How am I a 995er? Are you under the impression I make a living by covering Texas football? I assure you, I do not.

You’re right, the chain of command doesn’t report to anyone. And, by your own admission, if there was nothing to work out then the conversations about the ask never would have taken place. No one would have heard a thing. And yet…

Anyway, you’re going to believe whatever you want to believe to support the conclusion you’ve come to, so I’m done wasting my time.

Stick to making cute gifs pretending like you know what's going on during a given play. You're clearly out of your depth here.

Why hasn't Will Randle portaled yet? Surely we would push him out in order to make room for Jack Endries.

What a clown, but it's mildly entertaining so keep on I guess.

Unless he was told you no longer have a scholarship for next year to play football at the University of Texas, which I would find very difficult to believe, then it was absolutely in his control.

Exactly. He pushed himself out. And that's okay.

Out of my depth? You just watched an entire season that went sideways because we didn't get kids properly evaluated due to small rotations and lack of experience. Yet you still don't recognize what is right in front of your face. So a few questions for you?

Why was Arch, a guy who had been here two years already at the start of the season, not ready to go day one?

Why did we not know whether or not we had a LG or C who could play coming into the season?

Why were we playing Baxter all year only to find out that Clark can run the football?

Why were there a ton of mistakes in the secondary when Taafe went out?

For a guy who according to you is "pretending to know what is going on during a given play", I sure as shit have been right a lot on this board huh? I called this season last year when you guys were beating your chests about how 2025 was the year. Was it a lucky guess? Or was I telling you last year that Arch was staring down the deep routes, and the interior O-line has been a problem since Sark has been here? Oh, what? I was? Then shut the fuck up, because I don't remember you being the voice of reason AT ALL.

Texas starters were signed out of high school by Texas to the tune of 82+% over the last 3 seasons. Do you have any idea how uninformed and dipshitted you sound when you try to discuss actual football being played at Texas? It doesn’t seem like you do.

Inherently, 50% of any signing class isn’t panning out, for anyone. A class that ultimately produces anything north of 65% producers for a program is considered something akin to a unicorn. In the age of the portal and NIL, having more than 4/5s of your starters signed out of HS on 10+ win teams is extraordinary.

In short, stick to your AI slop and shut the fuck up with your ignorant nonsense when it comes to UT football, you ignorant Westlake honk

The attitude thing gets brought up a lot on boards. I always believe that these are legit red flags, but you never really know how a player will react on a new team. People talked about Conceptions (a&M wr) last year and he killed it. We have seen the other side of that with a couple Bama players. Coleman is a first round talent. Coaches probably feel they can get him locked in, especially before what should be his money year for the draft. There is always risk, but you would think the floor on Cam is still above the average SEC WR

Sure. But to connect that to this thread, in modern college football that experience doesn't need to come from a player you originally recruited. Indiana is literally a team of transfers.

Are there any real red flags with Coleman? I mean, his QBs have been atrocious, so his production hasn't matched that talent. But he didn't seem to be a negative for Auburn's locker room or anything. The main issue as far as I know is that he is going to be really expensive.

Implying that I beat my wife as a reaction to me writing a post calling your stupid take a stupid fucking take is the kind of weak shit I would expect from a dipshit like you. You’re terrified of confrontation of any sort, so your defensive reactions when confronted for having shit takes are bad attempts at indifferent AI and graph comedy and/or attempting to shame someone with your projection of what might gain sentiment in your favor from other readers.

I know it hurts to be such a fucking imbecile and to be called on it, but there are two easy ways out:

or

2) when called out of for having a shit take, just admit that you don’t know shit and had a shit take.

I’m sure plenty can, it’s just that you definitely aren’t one of them. There’s nothing “tough” about calling you out for shit takes, in any event. It feels aggressive to you because you’re an emotional baby, but it’s pretty standard shit for keeping proper forum hygiene. Bad takes should be called out, especially when they’re shading the program the board exists for in the first place.

We talk a lot of shit but you know I have no ill will toward you. Same with @Dahobbs. Truly, my worry is us being a revolving door where as soon as we get someone in, we are losing just as much or more. That's kinda what is happening. We came into this season with 3 decent LBs, Hill, Smith, and Lefau. Two left, and now even if we get one decent one we are still thin.

Plus kids talk. Shaun Rogers daughter is a friend of my daughter and is at SMU playing volleyball. If the SMU program is bullshit and my daughter was thinking about committing Kennedi would tell her do not come here. Like football, all these kids been playing against each other or on the same club teams(7 on 7) since middle school and keep in touch. We've lost a lot this season for a blue blood program who had a strong year with a strong finish.

We used to have people portal out, never to be heard from again. However, now are losing serious contributors at a time when we are winning and we just brought in one of the best DC's around. That's all I am saying. I've flamed this thread enough. Time to move on.

Parker had one fewer TD than Wingo (6 vs 7) with nearly half the number of catches (29 vs 54). I don’t blame him for leaving if they told him to park his ass on the bench in 2026.

IMG_5462.jpeg

It's free agency. Players come, players go. It's a civil right they were long denied. Thank you Parker for being a fresh face who made impact plays when Arch was struggling. You helped turn the season around. Go get yours where you can. I'll root for ya.

I think Sark understands the assignment. Moar than evar, if you aint moving forward, you fallin' behind.

I got emotional about the Wisner deal. Then I realize that Sark and staff are trophy hunting in the portal thinking they can upgrade positions. I think Jagger could be something really good. Sucks for Livingstone and Wisner. May suck for Wingo. But fuck it, I'm all in for trophy hunting.

I get trophy hunting. We just have to hope it works. I will never understand changing the approach to the 2025 season. What we did in 2024 was produce an elite offense and defense ranked roughly #3 in the country. A couple of penalties, mistakes and shitty red zone play calls couldn’t get us past Ohio State. Injuries can make a sure thing into a nothing. No team is immune from this. I would have loved to keep Parker but if a player we get in his place busts or gets injured it would have been imo smart to keep him in reserve. I want to know what we are going to do to get an OLine that will help make our play makers shine. Because if we whiff on that fuck it. Trophy hunting for Olinemen. Get some big ass Iowa boys to hold the damn line. And yes I freely admit I don’t really know who to go get but just get some fuckers.

I think he wants to change the perception of a play calling HC by having his cake (being called HC but deferring to the DC 💯 on defense and having fuck all to do with one side of the ball) and eating it too by also calling plays.

We all want it to work but I don’t remember PK screaming into Sark’s headset to call some of the shit Sark did in the red zone against Washington when we should have won or against Ohio State in the red zone when we had every chance to win. All Sark needed to do was praise Pk not act like we lost bc Sark had to hold PK’s hand 24/7 bc the tape don’t lie. Sark’s RedZone play calling was yellow short bus special.

His play calling in general may be his superpower but his inability to call the right plays for the right players and against what a defense is giving him had CONTINUOUS weakness for him from his Pac days and the blame should be 100% on him if his new strategy doesn’t work.

He wants to be able to sit with Arch and squat and deal with Millwee and Banks and Flood and for Muschamp to handle the rest. If it works yay for UT fans and he might leave and pitch this same setup to the NFL I guess? If it doesn’t work then we should cut bait and let Icarus burn his wings 🪽 and drip his bullshit wax all over some other football program.
