I think the Rockets are figuring it out. Amen should take it to the basket more, but he’d probably prefer Alpie to facilitate the offense and catch back door cuts all game. I’d like Ime to explore Amen with the ball in his hands more when Alpie sits. There’s something possibly elite there and Amen needs to flesh it out before he can integrate it with Alpie.

I assume KD wants the ball more. Right now he’s the closer and bails out the offense with iso buckets when it stalls out. Given the offensive systems he’s excelled in, he probably wants to see more movement and flow.

A win at GSW without Durant would certainly be a good barometer.

Until he starts shooting better at 3FG, playoff level defensive teams will shut this down like GSW did. Of course, it was exacerbated by Jalen Green being zero in all but one game. Just play a match zone when Amen has the ball. He'll have to drive and everyone will have to make the right move and decision every time...

3FG is his unlock to all time greatness.

Agreed. Brooks isn’t a winning player. He had a nice game statistically, but he ball hogged, chucked, and took the rest of the team including their best player Booker completely out of the game offensively.

Also I’m not sure he’s a B+ or better defender. He’s a cheap shot artist, and essentially has to foul to defend effectively.

He plays hard and gets others around him to do the same. That’s valuable on a young team, but the Rockets outgrew him.

He was not a ball hog with the Rockets, was the best 3FG shooter last year, and was the best defender not named Amen.

He was also close to great in the World Cup or whatever it's called.

He gets zero plays called for him and guards the other team's best player every night.

Dude can hoop.

None of this is untrue, but you saw last night how much more effective he can be right now with floor spacing shooters. Want to sag off and have Reed, Alpi, Durant or Jabari shoot an open three?

It looked awful in the playoffs last year because that was a terrible 3 point shooting team that could not space the floor for him. Now they can clear out and let him cook his defender or even back him down post up or kick to an open shooter.

A legit 3 point shot unlocks his top ten in the league potential but he can be incredibly dangerous as is with good spacing.
