It’s possible he’s a specific kind of alcoholic. One of my grandfathers could have a beer with anyone but that’d be about it. Almost. About every 2-3 years something would trigger him and he’d disappear for a 6-20 day bender that involved who the hell knows what. I was 6 when he died, so I’ve only heard the stories. They’re pretty wild. My grandmother would act like nothing happened.

The Sarkisian stories kind of remind of these.

Why did you edit it to brah from “miserable twat”? That word usage doesn’t support your white knighting I guess.

uk: stoops; our win was gifted

saturday we were still losing by 3 scores with 11:12 remaining; we failed on 4th and 1, but klan aggy got flagged for roughing arch

it's a miracle we're not 4-4

we have concerns

You say something like this, with appropriate caveats like “it’s possible” “kind of remind me,” and people without any reading comprehension are going be arguing “well CTJ said Sark goes on 20 day benders!” Im not blaming you but that’s how this shit gets started.

And then we have 40 pages of this absolutely embarrassing bickering.

I have a boyfriend. Bless his heart. ❤️ he listens to me. Which must absolutely strain every brain cell he has. He might be a saint. Also @scramblynsaid he’s happily married. I ain’t some shameless hoe that chases married men. Thanks for the defense though. Much appreciated @scramblyn

Second point and this is a HYPOTHETICAL : IF sark’s mysterious 30 day absence was unscheduled and if during said unscheduled absence he did go on a bender and said alleged bender caused Sark to miss four weeks of winter practice and everything connected to Junior day in which recruits notated his absence it does fucking matter. Further IF he did go on such a bender and said alleged bender also impacted spring practice and his failure to fix the o-line in the offseason  it does fucking matter.

Most normal people could reasonably and logically comprehend that IF he went on  said bender  IT absolutely had a direct correlation to 6-2 and getting beat by Florida in the swamp.

Some of you would ignore all common sense  and swim past the sandbar on a vacation to the beach, get your leg bitten off by a shark only to blame your travel agent cuz she’s a chick. Logic. How does it work?

This isn’t “let’s pile on Sark because we are 6-2.”

And spare me the violins for criticizing a heavily paid man who has been gifted with every resource at his fingertips to have made this team a feared monster this year and so far we have lost in the shoe and the swamp and gone to two OTs with the bottom 1/3 of the conference. This isn’t Sark’s first rodeo. If he wants to disappear like a magician for 30 days and allegedly bender up he can fucking do it after the spring game.

His wife was how many months pregnant?

My third is due before the end of the year. I’ve bailed out of work to do stuff for her or bring her somewhere or take her something tons of times.

It could have been complications during pregnancy where he legitimately had to be there for his family.

If sark is on 30 day benders and missing multiple practices because of alcohol. Missing recruiting functions…….than I blame his boss. Sark is being sark. It’s up to his boss to fix that shit. He should be fired for cause already. Do any insiders know why he is still employed and his bosses putting up with this shit? I’m sure all these sources and bmdonors know the truth right?

Duly noted. Positive assumptions about his missing junior day and being gone 30 days are ok to say. assumptions that paint him in a bad light are not ok to say. Because “reasons.”

our hiring process for football is all kinds of fucked up.

I would disagree with this, at least with regard to the last two hiring cycles. For Chuckles we can blame the previous administration, including Steve Fucking Patterson who I knew personally long before he came to Texas, and who is a grade A asshole. Anyway, let's look at the two most recent hiring processes.

2016-2017 College football carousel

Tom Herman was the hot name after the 2016 football season and Texas rapidly identified him as the man and moved swiftly to make the hire. (It was graded an A by CBS Sports at the time, just to give you a sense of how it was regarded). If you look at who else was available, the pickings were pretty slim. Matt Rhule would arguably have been a better hire, but his only experience at the time was three years as HC of Temple. The only other guy of the coaches hired that you that you go, oooh I'd like to have him is Lane Kiffin, who was hired by Florida Atlantic. At the time Kiffin was something of a joke, having been run out of USC and spending three years in Saban rehab. Bottom line: In retrospect Herman was not great, but at the time he was seen as a home-run hire and Texas' process allowed the team to quickly secure him after he went 22-4 at UH.

2020-2021 College football carousel

If you go back and look at the names hired that cycle there are a lot of people who you say meh to, including Bryan Harsin (Auburn) and Bret Bielema (Illinois). Texas was by far the highest profile job that came open that year and the team had its pick. Among the alternatives, the only other names that make any sense in hindsight are Jedd Fisch (NE Patriots QB coach hired by Arizona) or Josh Heupel (hired by Tennessee from UCF). Texas would have lost its collective fucking mind if Heupel was hired. Again, given the choices at the time, it is difficult to argue against the choice of Sarkisian. In October of last year, grading in hindsight, CBS rated him the best hire of the cycle.

So yes, by all means, spread all sorts of libel about Sarkisian, his wife, former UT players, and babies. Talk about all of his (alleged) drinking. But even in hindsight I would argue it is difficult to say that Texas hiring process is "fucked up."

Maybe this is the solution to all our problems: natty?

1. Winning a natty would clear the sand from everyone’s vaginas here.

2. Natty Light is basically water. Thus, Sark can drink and still #allgas.

GDGD, this place is a fucking beating. Do y’all really think if Sark skipped out on all of those things because he was on a month-long bender he’d still have a job?

Fred, John, Charlie, Tom that’s a whole lot of success right there. From the mid seventies til now Mack (almost hired Gary) and Sark (third choice at best) are the best 1 of the top 5 programs of all time could do.

What about the scenario where he just got cocky and complacent and ignored obvious issues because he thought they could be fixed using his process? That seems just as likely if not more than going on a 30 day bender and CDC deciding to give him an extension immediately after.

Neither one is acceptable, but I think it’s over simplifying things to just call him a drunk and blame everything on that issue. I’m not saying he is or isn’t drinking, but I doubt the situation is so black and white.

Astounding. By that rationale we shouldn’t expect to beat any top ten team in their house. Is that what you are saying? Like how a fairly shitty Michigan team went to the shoe last year and beat them on OSU’s road to the MNC? With somewhat of a similar score to our game? Like that?

Texas hasn't been very successful this year, but they are somewhat relevant. There is reasonable hope they can be competitive next year. That hasn't been the case for the last 12-14 years, and you guys are shitting all over the man that ended that decade plus misery. Let's just run the fucker right out of town, we've had such great luck finding coaches.

That’s something I’ve also said multiple times. My scenario was a hypothetical. Sark has frustrating and maddening tendencies in his coaching hubris. Learning that he potentially and allegedly put out feelers to the NFL at the start of our season after an inexplicable change to a shitty NFL model brought the fire breathing dragons out. People no longer care to keep the gossip under wraps. There is a precedent for his disappearing from his two stints at Bama. And because of that people naturally have a right to be suspicious of it during what has been a let down of a season so far for a 5th year coach. Who has all the resources and the talent to not be in a dogfight with Miss State and KY.

I think our chances of making the playoffs are essentially zero.  We all see what's happening on the field.  Football is weird, though.  A&M flipped the script in one year.

I will say this:  losing 23 key players to the NFL over 2 years is not easy to overcome.  Ohio State has done a better job for sure, but you can see that programs like UGA and LSU and (especially) Clemson are struggling.  Clemson has a boob for a head coach, but UGA and (until Saturday) LSU have/had coaches that are totally capable of leveraging NIL and the portal.  But, things happen.  I think we're suffering a similar fate.  I have no reason to believe it's permanent.

A&M has improved but hasn’t played anyone and hasn’t flipped anything. Clemson and LSU are down, but UGA is not. Clemson’s boob head coach has two titles, and coaches circles around Kelly, who famously ignored the portal and isn’t capable of leveraging NIL.
