Barely beat us, that's some fucking aggie logic for god damn sure.

The original argument was that nobody would want to face us. I said yeah, even if they think they will beat us, they know it will be a dogfight and carries the risk of a loss. You said, nope, not OSU or UGA. Then I said, they are the only teams that give us problems. So your big trump card is to point out a loss against Washington that came down to the final play of the game as to why we would not be feared in the playoffs. Go fuck yourself, you are an idiot.

I've argued that Georgia is the reason we had an insurmountable deficit to overcome in the CFP.

I'd argue that us dropping all the way out of the top 25 after the UF loss is what fucked us.   Just too much ground to make up.  I know it wasn't the playoff rankings, but the other polls matter when the playoff rankings come out.  Dropping us from 9 to unranked after a road SEC loss is just dumb.  Yes, FLA is bad, but I cannot recall any other top 10 team dropping like that.

You mean aggie at #39 in rush defense that's had an issue with good rushers all year long?

And you think our rushing issues come from poor QB performances. Brilliant!

Where was aggy before we played them? So you don't think teams being able to load up the box because they have no fear of the pass has anything to do with poor rushing? Brilliant! Okay, you win...no teams in the CFP would fear us...even though we already beat aggy and OU. And only lost by 7 against Ohio State at their house, back when our QB was scared to throw it to black people.

I'm pretty sure the committee is going to move us up to 13 or 14, just like the polls, give themselves enough wiggle room for next week's games to play out in an attempt to kill any and all questions/controversy off quickly.   From their point of view moving us up to 11 or 12 would be unbelievably stupid going into the unknowns of the final week.

Yeah, they'll penalize aggy for losing more than reward us for winning. They'll also keep Miami outside to avoid the Notre Dame issue.

For sure. Georgia could win by 50, Ohio state win by 50 and tech win by 50 and the ACC could be a clown show won by Duke and the committee could say- wait- we don’t want Texas and Arch Manning in here because why again? Same thing could happen. Again, not likely but possible.

AP and Coaches either overreacted to the Georgia loss or correctly reacted to the Georgia loss, and those same voters clearly underreacted to the Texas A&M win. That's obvious bias, and they know damn well that they're being hypocritical.

We were 10 in both the CFP and AP going into Georgia.

#14 in the AP behind Vandy

Hilarious that we only moved up 2 spots after beating the #3 team, who had been undefeated, especially when Michigan losing automatically moved us up one spot. A bye week would have almost had the same effect as beating the #3 team.

As an unbiased observer, Texas has a strong argument, but you also have the worst loss AND needed overtime two weeks in a row to skate by the absolute bottom of your league.

We don't have the worst loss at all.  Teams above us have lost to Louisville, Arizona State, and Florida State.

Spare me the "just don't lose to Florida" crap. Yes, obviously that game is an issue, but like Sark said if we're 10-2 right now and never played that Ohio State game, we're in.

Just a thought exercise, let's say hypothetically, Alabama loses to Georgia in the conference championship.

What's the difference between Bama and Texas?

Texas - bad loss to Florida

Bama - very bad loss to Florida State (who just got manhandled by Florida)

Texas - top 5 loss to Georgia (who lost to Bama)

Bama - top 10 loss to Oklahoma (who lost to Texas)

Texas - highest win vs #3 A&M

Bama - highest win vs #4 Georgia

Literally the only difference is that Texas played at undefeated Ohio State and Bama hosted 4-8 Wisconsin.

Yet Bama will be in the playoffs and we won't

(This is obviously moot if Bama wins the conference)

Our resume is being punished for having the balls to choose to schedule the best teams and then go play in the most difficult conference in the country.

This post needs to be pinned for all of the mouth breathing imbeciles claiming we’re not being punished for OSU loss. This is nothing more than an exercise of counting losses.

Set expectations for next year accordingly. Have to go 3-2 against Ohio St, OU, @LSU, @A&M, @Tennessee and not drop any game against Florida, Ole Miss or Miss St.

The committee will absolutely keep Bama in at 10 if they lose. We weren't harmed by losing to Georgia last year. The SEC and Big 10 loser still gets a spot because Ole Miss, Oregon, and aggy didn't do enough to qualify.

We have lost exactly 1 game in the last two seasons to teams not named UGA or OSU, a 1 score loss to Florida. We took OSU to the wire in both losses we had against them. We 100% are a team that is feared. Insisting we are not a feared team makes me question whether or not you are a longhorn fan at all. Might just be a sock or troll account.

Also we assfucked Vandy.

Nothing broke Texas' way yesterday and as a result IMO Texas is on the outside looking in re: CFP.

It is a bummer but will give Sark time to get transfer portal hopping and focus on off season.

I will be thrilled if Texas somehow gets in but I just don't see happening especially given the committee's statement that championship games don't matter.

We played 5 games against Top 12 teams, with a combined 54-6 record. We were responsible for 3 of those losses those teams took. We played a team on a 16 games win streak, the defending National Champ, their closest game of the season by far at their house.

No other team comes close to having the elite wins we do, and there are only a handful of teams that could have hung with Ohio St in the Shoe.

We won't get in, but if the playoffs started next week, we would be favored in any neutral site matchup except Ohio St, Georgia, possibly Indiana.

This would be interesting and likely infuriating.  The only argument for a 3-loss bama over Texas is that they beat Georgia.  They clearly have worse losses.   However, their "best" loss would be in the SEC championship, while ours was in game 1 on the road against the defending champs and current #1.

Didn’t take long for certain members of this fanbase to start SEC’ing themselves with some of these takes on scheduling and the season. You can’t lose to FL (not even counting OT against MSU and KY) and make some of these arguments with a straight face.

Common opponents: Georgia, Vandy, Oklahoma

Alabama Record: 2-2

Texas Record: 2-1

By the SEC's own tiebreak procedure, Texas would be ahead of Alabama.

ND struggled to put up 25 BC with like 5 take aways

OU struggled against coachless LSU

A&M barely beat Arkansas

Alabama was a few butterfingers away from losing to Auburn

People can pick on some our struggles but they are not unique.

What is unique is texas has been trending uupwhile everyone else is still on the struggle bus while rocking up wins against much stiffer competition.

Aggie also skated past MSU by 1 at home

and UGA beat UF by 4 at a neutral site

we had close wins on the road in the middle of our 2 month stint away from DKR.  We also lost to #1 and #3 on the road and wft UF on the road.

We are a bad road team, that’s for sure

It doesn’t always work like that, based on years of watching this shit it does not work like that. First it will depend on the type of game Bama plays. They lose in OT, they don’t go anywhere. They lose by 30-40 and their QB is lost for season, they are out. The committee will latch on to something this year to explain their picks. Some years it is best win, sometimes worst loss, the only hope for Texas is the committee head comes on and says OOC scheduling and SOS 40 times on the ESPN playoff show

Struggled how? They never trailed. We put a garbage time TD up to make the score look closer. They were up by 14 into the 56th minute of the game. I agree, our D did a bang up job keeping them out of the end zone but they never struggled. They handled business

The CFP result is what it is. But all things considered, 9-3 with a terrible OL and secondary and inconsistent Arch in a transition year with this schedule is damn solid. If not for Ryan Niblett's late game heroics at UK and MSU, the season could have gone sideways.

With a good offseason in the portal (rebuilt OL, new RB, TE, and CB) and a more mature Arch we should be vastly improved.

We don't need a portal TE, we get Endries back, and Washington, Winston, Townsend. If we get a portal TE, something has gone terribly wrong. We also have that kid we flipped from Minnesota coming in, who I think was a great pick up. I like Midwestern TE's.

Our postgame win expectancy against tOSU is higher than Georgia's postgame win expectancy against us.

And posters here are convinced UGA thrashed us, so we must have utterly dominated tOSU.
