I can’t believe the Social Work people went quietly. I assume they bought them off with a new building?

Yes, and that building was a 1000 years old so they probably jumped at the chance.

I heard from a UT business professor that they are moving to the BEB once the new business building is finished (site of old Dobie Mall parking garage).

I just looked at the parking situation on campus these days.  It is an ass ache deluxe.  Holy shit!

Shit, parking has been fucked on campus since the beginning of time... Well my time... 1979.

In fact my only act of vandalism ever, was in a dead end spot over by the swim center that was going to connect in eventually.   So curing finals I parallel park at the end of the dead end, like the guy on the other side.  The dead end went up into a hillside (which becomes important later).  So I come out of my final, and some prick in a VW just parked in the middle of the dead end blocking me and the other parallel parker in.  AND I had another final I needed to study for in a couple hours.  I was fucking furious.  I end up doing like a 32 point parking maneuver to get my car out, and not hit the other cars as I got out over the median.

Well I dug around in my trunk and found an old carpet knife (no idea why it was there) and I went to work on that SOB's driver's side rear tire.  I took about 10 steps back toward my car and then turned and went to work on the rear passenger tire as well.  I was going to teach this asshole, that sometimes, it's really inconvenient to be an ass hole.  But really, jamming in two people because you are an asshole.

But yes looks cool, but can't we just always now make it a rule to add parking bigly to ANY large footprint buildings?

Nothing makes a college campus more pleasant to walk around than massive parking garages!

Where we're going we won't need any social workers.

I used to park by the Stadium at San Jacinto & 21st most of the time for class.
Sometimes close to Littlefield Fountain if I had a class in the 6 Pack.  (Early ‘60s)
