So far Indiana and Tech aren’t having any problems with the portal, yet all I see is us losing players. Not thrilled about how we’re handling things considering we’re supposed to have the reputation as the richest school out there

None of this should be a surprise to anyone. Why would any offensive player want to play in this fraud's keystone cop offense.

Next season is going to be ugly at times but thankfully it'll probably be Sark's last and we can try again to find that elusive coach with the chops to win it all. Sark ain't it folks.

I generally agree with your sentiment. But I'll add a few rays of sunshine that I hope brighten it up a bit.

We've done a solid job of meeting our needs in the other two phases (defense and special teams). The DB from Rutgers is a known quantity to Orphey and Muschamp likes what he sees, so that's especially good. I'm also higher on the TE from MSU than a lot of people - I think he will set a solid floor for that room, which has a lot of inexperienced talent.

Also, the track of this portal season as it relates to OL is similar to how things went with DT last season. We shoot our shot at top targets (last year, the two DTs from Michigan) but can't overcome the homefield advantage. So we move on to our next targets, who all turn out to be pretty good. The timing of these things matters, and going to our second options late in the process isn't necessarily bad, as the home school has less money available to dedicate to retaining guys they didn't know were in jeopardy. I'm not saying that is what is happening, but the pattern is similar and we could see Sark use the same strategy. Maybe we miss out on our top OL targets, but there maybe a few others waiting in the wings that will still be a nice pickup.

Regarding RB...I hope someone pops up late. I just don't see a quality every-down RB going in the portal at this stage, but we're retaining Clark and maybe we can get by with a player who throws a solid jab if not a knockout punch. Regarding WR, I don't really think we need Coleman, at least not at the price he's commanding. Losing him to Tech and losing him soon would almost be a good thing, because we could focus on meeting more pressing needs. I think Sark is distracted by the shiny object and would like it off the board so we can move on.

I hate that Sark picked up a blocking TE, because that’s just gonna give him more reason to trot out his piss poor 12 personnel.

I think this is a general misconception among fans. The reason 12 personnel did not work was because the TEs have generally struggled to block. There is nothing inherently wrong with 12 personnel, if you have the correct personnel to run it. Texas has not had a legit in-line TE, since Swaim. The use of 12 personnel is growing faster than any formation in the NFL. It is a response to defenses playing more DBs and smaller faster defenders. If you can punish smaller fronts in 12 personnel, defenses are forced to bring in heavy sets and then you get the mismatch of Townsend on a bigger LB.

I'm waiting to complain until I see how well pulling the TE to block NFL DEs works out next season.

In pass pro, that is my favorite.

Yea blocking is the worst

Ohio State just lost their 2 top freshman WR (one a 5 star) to the portal I wonder if their fans are worried about their future relationships with those high schools

Man, I want to be so optimistic about next year but the lack of portal acquisitions is concerning. Like, are we only focused on the “top” players in the portal?

I know the kicker and punter weren’t 4* but damn.

I almost doubt that Texas will be able to fill the 105 slots for scholarship football players at this rate.

Connor Williams is still only 28 years. Maybe he’s interested in grad school at UT?

Again, Gibson is a fumble threat. The dude put it on the carpet in 2024 a bunch as well and got pulled for a few games for it.

You can’t fumble as much as he did and expect to stick around.

I agree 100%, but he looked to have cleaned it up this season with only one confirmed fumble. It sucks, but we have to keep moving forward and go with what we have now. I personally like the Juluke hire because his players really like him and he's a player's coach. It stung when Gibson left, and I understand why Sark didn't fire Scott immediately, but it became obvious the guy was out of his league. You live and you learn.

The position you play doesn't determine if Sark is trying to get you the ball. We move people around too. Progressions change depending on the play design. For example, when we run the fake screen where the blocking receiver fakes his block and then goes, he is the first reed. Sometimes that guy is a TE.

Your catches are determined by the amount of times we try to get you the ball. We weren't throwing him the ball dude. Nothing you say can make that different. Again, I will tell you the same thing I said earlier. I have the All22 for these games. I can easily put all the dropbacks up while he was on the field and prove it to you. What you will see is us using him to clear space. Then 2 or 3 times a game we will look his way.

Lastly, Mosely played the last 9 games bruh. He was back for the SEC opener.

You're right about him being back for the opener, but he was still more effective as a receiver than Livingstone. But, you are more into the X's and O's, so I'll take your word for it. But I will die on the hill that Livingstone isn't worth the tears no matter where he goes. He has no elite traits. He's a JAG. And that's fine. He got NIL, pussy, and could have a Texas degree, but it's moot now. He never impressed me, but I'm just one person. I don't need a verified superstar to be impressed. Just look at Mosley— he's not a superstar but he gets the hard stuff done. That's all I care about. Livingstone is an easy upgrade, and if we're being honest, he was being replaced by Lockett next season, imo.

I'm sure ou will love him, but their offense is inept, and he clearly doesn't understand taking $800k and winning at IU, which is a good school, and pretending he's making the NFL (he's not) at ou. I'm fine with him being gone as a player, not a student. I'm in the I don't care one iota what happens to him from this moment on.

We'll agree to disagree on his value, and that's all I will say about Livingstone anymore. He's not worth the discussion.

Texas staff needs to fill OL needs quickly to stop this run of portal recruiting defeats.

Then follow that with a couple wins at adding quality LBs, and roster for 2026 will be fine for Horns.

#Texas LB Elijah ‘BoBarnes is entering the transfer portal. Barnes appeared in four games for the #Horns, where he had four tackles and one sack.

Texas sophomore tight end Jordan Washington is set to enter the transfer portal, a source tells

@CBSSports

. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder was a Class of 2024 four-star recruit and made two starts this season.

Even though my job resquirea math, I don't need this shit in my personal life. I leave math at work (I'm at work, but whatever) because I get paid there. After I get home I don't want to worry about the numbers and shit. I'm sad Barnes is leaving after a season. What the fuck is happening on the defensive side of the ball? We look handicapped now.

Some are reporting Barnes might come back.

Sounds like the money has to be to his liking.

Another nonsurprise, after the other Michigan lineman stayed there, always seemed like a package deal.

I’m starting to wonder if sark is pulling a bit on us.

What is the bit? He has everyone signed and ready to go to fill all the vacant slots and then some but he’s holding off on making announcements? 😂 There are a lot of people in the portal and the TARGET should have been O LINE which will make any playmaker we TARGET shine. It seems like it was like Coleman as a weapon and what? Special Teams looks good I guess for some praise. The absolute first item on the list should be targeting OLINE period. And then grab your weapons or use the fact that you have a fucking Oline to grab some portal transfers. We have either thru attrition or pushing them out lost a lot of players. I don’t know what the fucking plan is but Indiana made a haul and seemed to go after and target precisely who they wanted.

What is the process here? Is there one? Cuz we will fill the holes left bc of the massive amount of people in the portal but how many of those were targeted selections and how many of those will be “oh shit we gotta get someone cuz so and so is gone?” Selections. Great trolling job by Sark if this is all some planned deal. But it looks like a sloppy fucking mess. Or people have warned everyone not to come here? Or they saw our shit Oline the past few years and realized sark is keeping Flood (something that is dumb as fuck no matter whether you like Sark or question him or think he’s fool’s gold) keeping flood is a dumbfuck move. It’s dumb. Moronic. Flood should not be on the 40 acres. I fail to see how keeping attracts anything other than flies.

How come only Texas is losing so many playerzzz?!? Toxic cesspoooolllll
