Beto was in a cult that engaged in ritualistic animal sacrifice!  Now you know the left means it when they say we should kill all the farting cows!  They named it cult of the dead cow for crying out loud!

It will be something even dumber.

So Cruz and his machinery couldn't unearth them, but somebody else will be able to do it?

Maybe you meant that the made up skeletons haven't been pulled out of the closet yet.

Oh there will definitely be things made up about him.  That's politics.

That being said, you are assuming that opposition research was done by someone competent.  Look at the Virginia governor/Lt governor etc.  None of that shit came out during the election.

Second, you are also assuming Cruz revealed everything they uncovered.

It's been less than 24 hours and we already have Beto writing about murdering children with his car (obviously fiction).

These candidates are going to go scorched earth on eachother.

This isn't probably known by the general public but hacking groups like cDc and l0pht were nothing like what hacking groups are like today. Back then there was an ethos that was adhered to, see "the hacker manifesto" for an example. There was a desire to improve tech beyond what it was designed to do, remove barriers to information, protect privacy, force software companies to strengthen their code, break international borders and unify the world sans government.

Anyways, the term hacker became associated with a negative connotation about 20 years ago despite attempts to label malicious actors as crackers but the media liked the term hacker and ran with it. Beto was involved during the idealistic era and this shouldn't be confused with the criminal groups that exist today.

Tonight, I am going to smoke some weed, play Doom and do some war dialing in Beto's honor.

Am I wrong to assume the lack of release on his amount raised in the first 24hrs is a bad sign? Maybe he was only popular, because he was going against Ted Cruz.

Yeah what up with that

what does this mean in plain English?  Beto is a beta?  I know Toad The Wet Sprocket (wtf does the name mean?) with their big hit from the 90s, Joshua Tree the U2 album? Never mind the details, Beto comes across as a choir boy, not alpha at all.

They’re already doing it.

See the posted tweet above. And note the context “the other candidates (read democrats) are going to make up and twist stuff to tear each other up”.

PSSSSST - that narrative from that tweet is not being pushed on social media by a single democrat candidate or their supporters. It’s being pushed by accounts with QAnon usernames, MAGA trolls, and bots.

Yep.  I can't run either.  Onetime I took acid at Canyon Lake.  I didn't transcend consciousness or time or touch the stars.  I got a stomach ache and took a shit behind a cedar tree and wiped with the editorial section of the San Antonio Express News.

None of us can run. We post on surly.

Like, the account that tweet is from, BreakingNLive?

The name makes it seem like an actual news source.

But dig deeper.

First, no blue check mark. Not a verified account.

Second, do a little googling.

@BreakingNLive, a viral “news” account with more than 70,000 followers on Twitter and no association with any known journalists or news organizations. An analysis of the account by Robert found that it previously claimed to share only “Real News - Pro Trump” but changed its bio to be more general in 2017.

Finally, that source has an account on fucking Gab.

You just used a literal fake news, propaganda twitter account as proof of your false premise that democrats are making up and twisting facts about other democrats.

You’re trash.

You could have convinced me that photo was Harvey or Allison or something. It is only going to get way more difficult to discern legit sources from fake ones too. Sigh.

Pos rep for setting the record straight.

Posters like him make me suspicious as hell. Just went back through his posts: signed up in May; didn't post until July but exclusively in nonpolitical subs (I assume to build up rep). He then suddenly switched to NOTHING BUT politics starting in late September.

I don't mean to be paranoid but it follows the patterns we saw in the old CR with bots and other socks.

Eh, I wouldn’t poster profile too much.  Regular folks don’t usually start talking politics until around election seasons.  However, we should be vigilant and source check shady information like Bama Chick just did.

This also comes with the sentiment that we should hold each other accountable on information/disinformation.

Beto is backing off universal Medicare. Dude is going to crash in the primary faster than a 737 Max

Him and Howard Schultz can go circle jerk each other in the centrist party

what did he say to back off M4A? do you have a link? what might have been his motivation?  M4A is a central theme for all Dem candidates IIRC.

i don't interpret that as backing away from M4A.  It's actually common sense.  Medicare can be implemented by large carriers such as UHC who also administer employer group plans. I'm curious about those who have no insurance at all, what's his solution.

It’s day two. His first real test will be in the debates in June.

That will help him how?  In the debate he could be pressed about why does not support particular policies with high popularity among democratic voters.

That's almost exactly what Mayor Pete said. Make Medicare an option on the exchange. As more people buy in, it becomes better funded and a better option.

This is a good approach politically and pragmatically. You can't have people screaming that ¡¡¡SOCIALISM!!! is being imposed on them, but you get that option out there. If it's competitive in the marketplace, it becomes normalized and increasingly successful.

I'm sure a lot of employers would appreciate a worker not bringing along the burden and hassle of dealing with insurance companies with them. Seems like that would be an added bonus to sign up - make you as an individual more attractive to prospective employers.

What changed from his senate run that made his position change? It highlights he has no positions and only wants to be elected.

He is an empty suit with a skateboard.

Republicans are going to cry socialism no matter what D runs and policy positions put forward.

Pretty sure he had already backed off in his Senate run, becuase he was running against Ted Fucking Cruz in Texas. Also, public option is a perfectly reasonable position take and actually achievable in our lifetimes. The healthcare lobby will never allow M4A.

The big picture decision point here is, do we want someone who tries to heal this country, and actually believes that we can undo some of the great damage and division?  OR, do we want someone who realizes that there's a poison in this country, and fights against it?

I honestly don't know yet which option I side with yet.  I like the positivity of Beto's message on this.....but I also think it's pollyanna bullshit.

And here’s a full transcript of his Medicare answer.

He’s emphasizing the fastest way to get the most people covered and explains he’s researched and learned of this new proposal.

A candidate that does research and cans admit he found a better way and he’s open to new ideas?????

STONE HIMMMMMMMM

He wasn't for M4A during Senate run either, but don't let that get in the way of your histrionics.  Pragmatism is important in this situation, especially if you actually want to do anything to address the problem.  Going Bernie on this issue just gives lobbyists a windfall in killing off your movement.

I'd like to think Beto really believes in structural reforms like getting the money out of politics, term limits and ending gerrymandering. If he can use his positivity to unite the country to enact things that will actually start to fix shit, then maybe that's the place to go. Or maybe we're all fucked. I don't know. I'm going to go drink.

i hear ya. i like his message...

but i keep thinking how awesome and invigorating and powerful it will be to see someone call Trump on his fucking lies and bullshit and grossness right to his face, cut him off at the knees without giving an inch... and i don't think Beto has it in him. he certainly didn't with Cruz. several of the others could/would/will.

on the other hand...i want to see that, but does everybody? those Obama-Trump voters...do they?

and... will Trump look WORSE playing his schoolyard bully idiot role facing someone like Beto?

does America want an ugly fight, or a change?
