  2. I talked to a guy in the $10m club and his advisor had moved him pretty aggressively into gold and silver. He’s by no means in the elite wealth club, but it got me wondering whether some financial advisors like Morgan Stanley are doing a better job of asset allocation because they have a huge research organization behind them. When I asked several friends who use small boutique financial advisors, not one of them was told to diversify into metals. I manage my own money because I have a pretty strong investment background, so I didn’t have an adviser to ask. But it made me pause and wonder whether tying into a large firm with huge research resources could pay off financially.
  3. Absolutely It's also music rights. So many shows and movies either can't released for streaming, or are being re-edited with different music, because their right's contracts were written before the internet/streaming was a thing. Do you mean PCU? Great college comedy movie. PCU DVDs at one were going for @$50+ on ebay. Bonus trivia - This douchebag: Directed PCU. Hart Bochner
  4. I think the world environment today has become much more negative with much more bullying, fighting, lying, etc. That’s due to social media, disinformation, and politicians, among other things. I used to think Surly/Shaggy was special because it was such a rough board, with people get hammered by posters. It was funny. Refreshing. Exciting. But, I think given the environment we have today as a country, which has turned so negatively, I’ve evolved my thinking. I feel we all need to take a step to be a little more kind to others. And that includes me. I used to flame posters pretty harshly and probably still do more than I should. But at least now I think more about being kinder to people.

  6. The past couple of years he's been bad at it. He doesn't have Prime Tyreek with 20 yards of separation and who can run under any deep shot he takes. Yes, there are a lot of problems with the Chiefs offense. Their O-line ain't great. They have no running game to speak of. Kelce ain't Kelce anymore. Still, Mahomes is not good at throwing deep as of late. Worthy's one legit skillset is running deep. So whether you want to blame it all on the team instead of Mahomes or not, Worthy is just a bad fit there. For what it's worth, of the Chiefs games I've watched this season, Worthy has been open plenty, he just doesn't get the ball. Again, maybe that's on Mahomes, maybe it's on Reid's play-calling, the O-line not giving him time, whatever. But Mahomes being dogshit down the field isn't just my dumbass opinion. It's pretty well known at this point.
  7. I don’t doubt that birth rates are down and etc etc etc but also I can tell you that in Wake Forest at least (I guess think Round Rock for Raleigh) you can spend years on the waitlists for the good daycares. We had our 2 year old on the waitlist for where he is now since my wife was pregnant and he only recently got in, I know that a couple of the other ones nearby are similar. And then there are other places where they consistently have vacancies.

  15. I heard at least a couple of economists, one of which I believe was Klugman, speculate the AI bubble is so massive, and the US economy/debt so shitty now, that the government wouldn't be able to bail out an AI bubble burst.
  16. Thanks. Hope it’s legit. I’ll be in Charlotte this weekend, need a feed to watch the Texans and the Dolphins.
