Yeah, the full text (actually multiple tweets) was classy and said all was forgiven and that he came back in I think the 1990s and learned about the Alamo, etc. I thought it was cool they posted that, because a lot of people do remember/associate him with the Alamo negatively and don't realize that he later apologized and toured the Alamo, etc.

Yeah, they clearly built it as a copy of Ted Lasso, but it's a solid enough show. In the summer when there's not shit on, it's even better.

Welp, you've got it pegged. I mean, that's the play they're already running with respect to....Ozzy....who was clearly the picture of health, a marathon runner and such, before he got "the jab." It's their play. They run it every time an EKG goes flatline, it will be no different here.

A judge denies the Justice Department’s request to unseal Epstein grand jury transcripts in Florida. Image Jeffrey Epstein appeared in court in West Palm Beach, Fla., in 2008.Credit...Uma Sanghvi/Palm Beach Post, via Associated Press A federal judge in Florida on Wednesday denied a request from the Trump administration to release grand jury transcripts from an investigation into the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, stymying efforts by President Trump to dispel a storm of criticism from many of his supporters. The quick denial came in response to a request by the government last week asking the court to unseal those documents and to transfer the case to New York, where Mr. Epstein was indicted after a grand jury investigation in 2019. In its request, the Justice Department cited “extensive public interest” and “transparency to the American public.” Mr. Trump and his subordinates, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, have come under enormous pressure to release further details about Mr. Epstein. Ms. Bondi had promised to do so but reversed course after a joint memo issued by the F.B.I. and the Justice Department on July 6 indicated that no more disclosures about Mr. Epstein’s conviction would be forthcoming. The memo concluded that after an exhaustive review of evidence in the cases against Mr. Epstein, the government had uncovered no new evidence “that could predicate an investigation into uncharged third parties.” Judge Robin L. Rosenberg wrote that the court’s “hands are tied.” The government had not requested the grand jury’s findings for use in a judicial proceeding, she wrote, adding that district courts are generally prohibited from unsealing grand jury testimony except in narrow circumstances. She ordered that a new case be created “in the public interest” that provided access to the government’s requests and the denial order, as the Epstein grand jury docket is still sealed. But she ordered closed the case where the government filed its request, which started with the investigation into Mr. Epstein in Florida in 2005.

If my roster was decimated by injuries, I would probably make adjustments to the off day schedule to make sure 2 regulars weren't out of the lineup on the same day.

i saw it yesterday and agree that it didn't really have a firm grasp of what it wanted to be or what it was trying to say. it was entertaining and intense at times, but also required quite the suspension of disbelief in others. Joaquin Phoenix was excellent, but that is to be expected going in. it was a very, very strange movie in that it has sat with me ever since i've seen it but i'm still not exactly sure how i feel about it.

Interesting. If I'm interpreting all this correctly, it means Bond could be feeling the accommodation would go in his favor -- meaning Roe perhaps drops her complaint? Or, alternatively, he knows this is a failed gambit, a frivolous and flaming piece of shit, on his part? And I'm guessing the opposition to sealing the summons could only come from the defendant? Can it come from a third party? I'm obviously not an attorney, but I have been spending too much time figuring out how the law works, especially in context of your observation that government is "at its most powerful against the individual." Also glad that site you linked is pay. Would have gone down the rabbit hole of reading those PDFs.

GDit I get so mad at Jeff Fisher every time this thread is bumped.

Well, yes and no. Although the Motion to Dismiss was filed by the plaintiff, the substance of the one page motion had both mouthpieces agreeing and e/signing. Plaintiff's attorney is based in NY. Defendant's attorney is James Bell. I've worked with Bell on a case before. A bit quirky but knows his stuff pretty well. If the criminal case goes forward, the terms of the civil settlement will inevitably come to light in the criminal case. With Bond's playing future in the air, there inevitably is a lot of maneuvering going on. For example, there may be structured terms in the settlement such as ... "should Bond sign a free agent contract, the alleged victim would receive X amount... with further stipulations as Bond makes more $. Keep your eyes open as to whether the criminal case is dropped in the near future. stip.pdf

Yeah, it’s unpopular but my Mom made it. I didn’t even know there was a hamburger version until I was at UT.
