Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?

Sh1t, it was warm for the '97 Fiesta Bowl. I like the underground bars, tho. Enis went bananas in the 2nd half. -
It is not baffling. It is just training for the gestapo. Just like how the party of fiscal responsibility and business, is quite horrible at both of those things.

Talking with some friends at breakfast this morning about Austin memories. Both were natives, I was the Johnny-come-lately, September of '65. We were trying to remember the bar that was housed in an old house on the West side of the old Intermural fields on Speedway. I think it was Roy's or some other man's first name. Also discussed the Grotto, an Italian restaurant on the Drag immediately north of 26th St. Had a little waterfall over the plate glass windows in front. I think the University bought it and used it for some offices for a while after it closed. The owner ran a small bar in the back. Some days, I guess I'm lucky to remember when I was at school at all.

What about from May to October? -
I am baffled how stricter enforcement cuts down on smuggling and human trafficking. Seems to me it would only make it more lucrative. Open borders would destroy their business. I don't think you can get rich smuggling people between San Marcos and San Antonio. But I don't know. If some evidence sending ICE to round up people in Portland has reduced human trafficking to zero that would be a data point to consider.

Because they know Elko's a one year wonder benefiting from a shit schedule -
Agreed. Definitely the worst of the 3 I think glass onion is the worst, but neither holds a candle to the original.

I'm surprised Michigan hasn't at least let Elko beg for the job. -

Minter not their first choice, but best available option this late after whiffing on DeBoer and Dillingham. Kiffin and Matt Campbell spoken for and the good G5 names like Sumrall and Chesney already off the board. -
Yeah, but I consider Babcock extra.

Minter being on the list indicates the university administration is not quite ready for the colonic necessary for proper AD cleansing. My "safe choice" was somewhat tongue in cheek. And it indicates UM believes this might be the tip of the iceberg. -
The return of Fred Hoiberg. Still undefeated and picked up a good win last night @ illinois. This pbp guy cracks me up with this call.

it’s become apparent to me that, for whatever reason, CDC doesn’t give a shit about men’s basketball. maybe the BMD’s don’t either so there’s no pressure on him, but when you look at how he’s approached his hires of other sports vs men’s hoops he just clearly doesn’t care. he kept RT when he could have gone after any number of young, qualified coaches (and don’t tell me we *had* to keep RT and just crush our program, because no we did not), and then after RT is gone he makes a comfort hire that he’s been wanting to hire for years. just zero ambition, and apparently very little pressure from the BMD’s to perform any sort of real, honest coaching search where we truly went and scoured the nation to find the best candidate. again, oats, hurley, golden, otzleberger, lloyd, may, etc, etc were all recent hires that didn’t blow anyone away when they were made, but they were great hires. same goes with mccasland, mccollum, byington, kelsey, and more. there might be a shortage of marquee names, but there’s obviously no shortage of great coaches out there who would love to coach at Texas. we just didn’t go searching for any of them. it’s fucking terrible.
