Texas Football 2025 - We’re Never Losing Again!
Park Gothic replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
I'm not as down on the run game as y'all are. Maybe I'm being naive, but Clark and Gibson seem improved since last week. Wisner and Baxter are known quantities and good RBs, if somewhat limited. Simon looks to be the next bellcow. Run blocking needs to improve but getting Stroh off the line will probably help with that. I can see a lineup with Hutson at RG and Robertson at C being what we need to finally have the OL all on the same page. They're still weak at the point of attack and lack any kind of push in clear running situations. But that's the same shit as the last several seasons. And our running was more or less fine. Not elite, but good enough to win and make the CFP. I guess what I'm saying is the ceiling is still limited, but the floor is higher than I thought it would be after last week. -
are you me?

Y'all gotta feel pretty good about beating Utah handily in SLC. That's a historically tough venue. Only tough road game left on the sked is @ ASU. I guess UH could step up and give y'all trouble, but I doubt it.

Honestly not bad...no team got completely fucked with tough opponents, or got off too easy, either. The rotation of the other 12 teams and how often we'll play makes a lot more sense. Not sure we can continue to without divisions...but this make a lot of sense so we see everyone without having division games taking up the whole schedule.

Trump administration is going to link Tylenol to Autism even through they don’t have any clear proof. Epstein files ain’t going to burry themselves as long as the House keeps talking about them I guess. -
It's a step in the right direction but it pretty much eliminates the potential "revenge game" factor. If Texas beats Tennessee in Austin in 2026 but the two teams don't play again until 2028 in Knoxville, the makeup of both teams will be largely different. Especially in the NIL/portal era. I'd prefer to play in back-to-back years so teams can form some mini-rivalries. But it's still better than prior SEC scheduling practices where things could happen like A&M only playing Georgia once in 12 years.

Wisner is #1 with 5.0, which is sad. (The 5.0 being sad. After 3 cupcakes, you would hope multiple people would be up around 6) -

I misread it too. I thought they meant home away, two years off, home away. I think it's more what hornbri said which will be really interesting and awfully weird.

Been thinking the same...they can't seem to run the ball and the only real worry is Mateer running around to make a play ala the Ewok. I do think that's where the game will be won or loss(as is most always the case). Can our DL get to Mateer and be sound enough not to let the dude run around to wait for a guy to get open. And can our OL handle a very good DL. Yep heard that too. Didn't even mention how fortunate they were to be gifted 7-14 points, and have 7 taken off the board for Auburn. Any one of those don't occur and they probably lose. Yep and TONS of PI not called either. if Arch is over the "yips" and can hit open guys, they'll have some success. Between them and Aggie from the past week, it's going to be awful.
