First series loss in May will do that to people

Yea I thought they were expensive when I paid $4 for a bag at a convenient store two years ago. Then I stopped again a month later and they were marked down to $2 something because they quit carrying them so I bought the last four bags they had. I like their chips but I’ve found lower calorie higher protein chips for much less now.

Your experience in the 90s was probably 100% accurate. That was before. -
Schloss runs the offense on gameday. It is his philosophy ruling over everything. He wholeheartedly believes that most college pitchers can’t throw strikes consistently. Us being in the top 5 nationally in pitches per plate appearance is proof his philosophy has taken hold. Tulo is the one working with the players on mechanical adjustments day to day. Same setup he had with Earley last year. I think Schloss and Tulo are pretty aligned. If you remember that 2021 team we had where Tulo ran everything struck out a ton as well. Schloss has said openly that strikeouts don’t really bother him because his overall philosophy requires guys to be comfortable hitting with 2 strikes. I think a lot of what we are seeing are the same guys who struggled with swing and miss last year against Big 12 pitching (Gasparino, Flores, Borba, Farmer) still having a lot of the same issues against better pitching. Which makes sense. These guys are good coaches but they ain’t miracle workers.

Markets still falling like whoa

My company laid off 9,000 or so Americans effective April 17, so the numbers for next month will be reflective. Go to any consulting company subreddit and there’s evidence that this is widespread. I know Accenture, Deloitte, BAH, and dozens of others did the same. But we have over 10,000 openings in India. Thanks for your explanation of what I’m sure is government’s best good faith attempt at measuring employment numbers, but I don’t believe them for a second. All the WARN act did was make companies reduce headcount in stealth mode. I’m in Federal markets, and if those job losses were included then we’d have an even more dramatic shitty employment numbers. I’m inclined to not believe a single metric reported by this administration. Our own VP of government affairs, a former chief of staff to the secretary of commerce under a previous administration reported in an internal call this week that job losses at the federal level are in the hundreds of thousands. Actually, your explanation explains perfectly why the mass firings took place later in the month. And what about the hordes of contractors who simply had stop work orders? -

What lead to the uncompetitive series was no one other than Luka being able to score. As it was we held Boston to under their season average and playoffs average in points scored every game except one. Luka's defense wasn't the main problem.

Is it too soon in the season to say "Fire Espada and shoot Tanner Scott into the sun"?

This thread is in rare form tonight. I guess losing checks notes two in a row calls for desperate measures.

We’re wearing these fucking old men out, just like you would expect over a 7-game series. if there was a bare-knuckle, fight-until-you-drop tournament Ime Udoka would win it without question. He has built his team in his image… -
Just got home from Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, and Die Krupps. This was great top to bottom. Die Krupps hasn’t played Austin since ‘96 even though Jurgen lives here. They killed it. I would love to see a full set. Nitzer Ebb is always good for just being two dorks on stage. Ministry is only playing Twitch, With Sympathy, and earlier Wax Trax singles on this tour and it absolutely killed. Yeah, Al has to use a vocal track to keep up but the crowd loved it and the reworked versions of the songs were great.

I mean, we could just try not walking them. This series is defined by free passes and strikeouts.
