  3. Lol even funnier when you realize Shaka was 3 coaches ago. Not like its last year's coach and the wounds are still fresh.
  4. Heading to the Jesuit/Lamar game tonight. I wonder if I can pull any moms wearing my old letter jacket?
  5. Seriously. Realizing that a 34 yr old naturalized immigrant democratic socialist with a net worth of less than you have invested in living room furniture just played a 100X more masterful hand of poker than you did against the same opponent.....jesus, how humiliating and emasculating.
  6. Heh, so you took our DM to the thread? Fair enough. I don't think this is the best thread to debate how KC utilizes X vs how Sark did and just agree Sark took too long to figure it out. Let's focus on the thread topic. Sark is terrible.

    NIMBYism

Yep. There is no "affordable housing" solution without significant government involvement/subsidy/regulation etc. It's not like it's unsolvable, you can look at how other developed nations have tried to deal with it, with varying degrees of success. See council housing in the UK, municipal land control and gov't subsidized mortgages (and related measures) in Finland, etc. It's not something that "the unfettered market" can or will ever solve, because that market says "maximize the dollars on every square foot of dirt." I'm not saying that's wrong or a bad thing, I'm just pointing out the obvious: a mechanism that works like that isn't going to deliver much affordable housing.
  10. Also, (too late to edit): The correct word is relational- not circular - because it's not starting from a place that gets it back to that same place. It iterates between teams that have played until it produces an acceptable outcome. I can clear my model and start with Okie State preseason as the greatest team of all time and all the SEC teams occupying the lowest places, but it'll work back to the exact same place that it is right now.
  11. They use X the same way we finally figured out how to use X in year three. Mostly around the los with the rare attempt to take the top of the defense with him just to keep teams honest.
  12. Yep, thanks for the memories but it was time.
  13. If I am ranking the habanero sauces I have in my fridge right now, L to R. Marie’s still takes the cake.

  15. So what is everyone's wish list for the offseason? I know a lot of fans want to bring Bregman back but I'm not sold on that unless we are getting him much cheaper than last season. I would rather use that $40 million elsewhere when we have Mayer at 3B. My wish list in order of preference is as follows. Power bat at 1B/DH (Schwarber) #2 starter Another power bat for 1B/DH (Alonso) SP RP utility infielder This is assuming we don't do something crazy like trade for Skubal or Skenes. That would be the top priority if it was realistic. We have to get more pop out of 1B/DH this next season. Really need 50-60 HRs from those two positions. We are pretty set everywhere else position wise but there just isn't a lot of true power. Anthony and Abreu could both hit 30 HRs but we shouldn't expect it. I really like Duran but would be ok trading him if it addresses a need on the wish list. Would also love to be rid of Yoshida but I doubt that happens. I'm good with Romy platooning at 2B with someone else. Think we are set at OF, SS, C and 3B (Mayer). Crochet is obviously a stud ace but there is no guy we can rely on to be the next man up. Bello is fine as the 3rd SP but that could be upgraded. I don't want to go into next year relying on Connelly and Tolle to both be good starters. Closer is set but you can never have enough relievers.
  16. Heartbeat's Website has a page for locating retail locations near you that sell their product. Went today and grabbed a bottle of the Scorpion and a bottle of the Red Habanero. The scorpion is amazing. Less heat than Tabasco scorpion and way more flavor. The red hab is average - to me it tastes like many other red habs and is at the bottom of my current stash of red hab sauces. They were out of the Camp Sauce, so I am debating buying online or just waiting for Christmas and asking for a bottle of it. They had the Dill Pickle Serrano sauce, but I already have a couple of dill pickle based hot sauces and wanted something with more heat. The scorpion sauce lived up to the hype - do recommend. Looking forward to getting my hands on a bottle of the Camp Sauce.
  17. Randomly saw this on Reddit. Nice pressure rates for our dudes Murphy and Ojomo.
  18. LOL, of all the shit, this might actually be his downfall with maga. Being a pedophile and protecting other pedophiles is one thing, but saying something nice about a brown muslim communist jihadist mayor? That's not gonna sit well with the cretins he's developed as his base lol.
  19. I agree on these two points, but models do a decent job of churning all the data and spitting out estimates that are pretty close to reality. The more quality non-conference games that we get the more reliable it becomes to do this. However, having done this a number of years, bowls just don't majorly change what the model thinks about teams or conferences, even though that's when half of the good games happen. The issue with SOS specifically is that there are several different methods trying to measure different things that all call themselves SOS. When people colloquially use it, they are trying to answer, "How difficult is it (or how good a team do you need to be) to play through a schedule and make the playoff?" Not all models are even trying to answer that in their SOS rankings, though. (And people will cherry-pick.)

    NIMBYism

Interesting article. Wish I could be a fly on the wall listening to all those BH folks squirm. As someone who has been a residential housing developer for nearly 30 years, I constantly chuckle at all the hand wringing over the “housing affordability crisis”. We can talk about encouraging building, passing laws, relaxing red tape, blah blah fucking blah. But the reality is there is no solution for the “housing affability crisis” that is remotely palatable to the populace or politicians. You want affordable housing? Go list your house for 50% of what it’s worth. Don’t like that idea much huh? Didn’t think so.
  22. So it appears to be LSU that got him? I am shocked, I thought he would go to Florida for sure. Next Saturday (8 days)
