Papers, please. Surly thread of deportation cruelty dominance
Captainant replied to Captainant's topic in Daily Texan
The feds have no control over the posses that they've armed and unleashed. https://abc7.com/post/federal-agents-fire-shots-man-during-operation-san-bernardino-police-say/17562097/ Martin says he was working with his father-in-law and 18-year-old son-in-law on Saturday morning when their vehicle was suddenly surrounded by unmarked cars and masked men. "They hopped out with their pistols already drawn. Then they proceeded to ask us to lower the window and open the doors," Martin said. Martin stressed that they asked, but the masked agents did not identify themselves. Martin and his family stayed in the locked car as agents insisted they come out. Video shows moments later, the agents shattered two windows. "Once the glasses were shattered, my father-in-law feared for his life, from his perspective. And so he... I guess the car was already in drive, so he drove the vehicle away from where those agents were at," Martin said. In the video, three gunshots can be heard. "Thank God the bullets didn't go through the truck. They just went in, got stuck into the door, but they were aimed at my brother-in-law, who was in the passenger front. And so I was just glad he was OK," he said. The family sought the help of San Bernardino police, who soon arrived at their home. "So once they showed up, we made a report with them. They told us FBI was going to get in contact with us," he said. The family says instead, it turned into an hours-long standoff with several federal agencies showing up at their home. They say an officer seen pulling out a weapon on video during the vehicle stop is the same person who fired the gunshots. "He said that he didn't shoot... that those three shots were him tapping on the glass. But we have bullet holes inside of the vehicle now," Martin said. -

So after the inevitable incident happens when some guardsmen gun down some protesters, who is going to write and perform this generations Ohio? Will anyone care to?

Except in November nobody really digs in on a who is a failure. It focuses on who is playing for it all. itβs a smart way to do it. You get to enjoy the shine for 6 months in anticipation and few care enough to autopsy the teams that failed when the season is still going on and there is a chase for playoffs and a title. after the season memories fade and they play bullshit games like βwe were one play away from beating evil TU, Whoop!β And forget that they we dominated like they had a tennis ball gag stuffed down their mouth.

Quinn is great at the less than 20 yard throws. Itβd be interesting to know the % of passes annually in the NFL that are less than 20 yards vs greater than 20 yards. Hookβem!!! -

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
Bateshorn replied to Reagan1k's topic in Business and Markets
In any rational world, we'd be seeing some serious betting action on a rate increase, not decrease in September. You'd think the Fed would be looking at these numbers, decide to go full Volker, and put this last bit of inflation down for good, being willing to live with a mild to medium recession by Summer-Fall 2026 to be done with it. But we don't live in a rational world. Long term, tariffs and zero/negative immigration aren't classic inflation, in the sense of too much money chasing too few goods, but they will cause a price shock, which will likely excerbate any recession. Long term, if tariffs were to stay in place, they would suck even more money out of any already weakening economy. Like, in 1930-31...... -
You are correct, sir!

Well Written Content Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)
RomaVicta replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
I'm late to this thread. Skimming some great stuff. Compliments to @closetojumping I wonder if A&M making themselves largely unignorable despite nobody much caring about their football program places them in a unique position to be over-rated just about every year. I think they are likely the only team of some prominence in college ball to have alumni constantly touting themselves as the next blue blood. They mantra the sleeping giant/all the advantages line until the notion finds footing in some minds of the national CFB media. At one time or another, just about all of those sports pundits pick A&M to surprise the world. At no time do the Aggies deliver more than a big upset win en route to their traditional ocho-cuatro. Now, they have established the pitiful narrative of "is this year finally the year the Aggies break through?" Nobody really wants to spend any more time on A&M than they do Michigan State or Pitt, but the annual question, just as the annual failure, remains: is this the year? They get an obligatory and cursory look flavored by the Aggie hard sell leading to this notion that they will be better than they are. The reasoning is usually applicable to all above average schools: if their QB breaks out, if the OL finally gels, if linebackers can stay healthy... Other than OU's aging MNC, I don't think the breaks have ever gone well enough for the miracle to happen. The Aggies just set themselves up, unfailingly, as a November punchline. The wages of self-promoting a self that sucks. -

Glad I skipped this one. I had Khamzat by boring decision in my head, and I'm too old to stay up until midnight for that anymore.
