  1. Past hour
  2. The cosby show was solid entertainment. Good writing and acting. As bad as Bill Cosby was personally, he was so good at entertaining. Hopefully after he dies, the show can be separated from his poor and illegal behavior.
  3. It's like the sign at the door of the funeral home said, remains to be seen.
  4. I used to fuck strippers like that in prison.
  5. This is really it. The world spent months discussing whether Israel was "going too far" in its war against Hamas. Now, these actions aren't remotely close to military actions. They are strikes against civilians. By a government which has numerous mouthpieces who have stated their intent to cleanse Gaza of all Palestinians. It's just indefensible.
  6. I'd prefer Memphis to UCF and probably also Cincy and UH, but the numbers obviously didn't work because they were bypassed for those three. If this money had been on the table back then I wonder if it would have worked. They're renovating the Liberty Bowl which helps I guess but they still are seemingly stuck in G6 permanently if even this offer can't get them in.
  7. He walked on air.
  8. Notice how all the staunch, principled Israel defenders have abandoned this thread. There is nothing left to defend.
  9. The Hugh Freeze golfing made me chuckle lol
  10. Maybe aggy is paying him in pennies out of spite, and that’s just from him carrying it into the bank.
  11. Not exactly - it was probably something along the lines of defining moments, facing adversity, stuff like that. My pop's is an old English teacher. He's working on another book right now, and he always preached a great story trumps great writing 100% of the time. And great story need not be "great" in the conventional sense, but it needs to be compelling, memorable, and for students, unique. Stephen King made a fortune off this. His writing is meh, but his storytelling...he's masterful in bringing the reader in. Still undefeated.....;)
  12. The conviction was overturned today for the 1979 disappearance/murder of Etan Patz. Major news story at the time. For those too young, this is the disappearance of a 6-year old that was one of the reasons for missing kids on milk cartoons, stranger danger, and why parents became more protective of kids leaving the house. GenX kids love to talk about how their parents let them roam free, but his disappearance (& others) scared enough parents to slowly change that stance. Background 6 year old NYC boy walking 2 blocks to the school bus. He was alone on this walk for the first time. He didn't make it to the bus stop. No body was ever found. In the mid-80s, a child molester was the main suspect with limited evidence. There was a reported jail house confession to another inmate. The suspect admitted to raping other young boys but couldn't recall if Patz was one of his victims. He was clear that he left his victim alive. Disgusting. A civil judgement was won by the parents against the suspect. In 2012, a low-IQ, former convenience store clerk confessed to the murder before he was mirandized. He claimed to toss the body in the trash the day of the disappearance. First trial was a hung jury, second trial led to a guilt verdict with a 25 year sentence. Verdict was overturned today due to jury instruction errors by the judge: https://archive.ph/NLxkg In today's world it would be unheard of to let a 6 year walk to a bus stop but the 70s were a different time. It wasn't NYC but I walked to the bus stop on my own at that age. It was very common. I have a definite memory of the Patz TV news stories. He would be 52 years old now.
  13. It wont stop at $20. At some point, it is going to be straight up PPV for each game. We have already unbundled nearly everything. It will all be unbundled, and you will need a separate subscription for every team and sport you like watching. Teams will never stop wanting new revenue streams, and it will eventually get there.
  14. I just renewed my annual ($80). Worth every penny.
  15. Michael j Anderson, and he’s not in rest stop.
  16. Jimbo looks like he's been working out during those portions of the day when he's not counting the millions in aggy money he's been paid.
  17. Mr. Terrific was great. And I loved the quick glimpse we caught of the exterior of the Justice Gang's Hall of Justice.
  18. Georgia just scheduled a 4th OOC team for 2026 which seems to indicate the SEC is staying with 8 conference games. They scheduled Tennessee State. They already have Western Kentucky, @Louisville, and Georgia Tech. I supposed they can always drop Western Kentucky or Louisville if 9 games is agree to but Louisville is their only home OOC game in 2027 so far so I doubt they'd cancel that.
  19. 👆 Went to the Fan Fest shit today and talked to a couple of Canadian retirees. Probably in their late 60s They went to 4 or 5 different starts in the Pyrenees and would watch the starts and then go back to their hotel and watch the rest of the race. I don’t which tour group they are with, but they said that after tomorrow they are heading to Oaris and then waiting to watch the final day in the stands on the Champs, so they are locked into something. Here is a Time Lapse from today. I start behind the stage where they will likely introduce the riders and then I walk straight on a walkway that bisects the half circle of buildings that is a lot like the Royal something or another in Bath, England, then I walk to the Fan Fest thing. 20. I know what you mean. When I watched Jeremiah Smith at the same high school I just knew he was overrated. And after that piss poor freshman campaign now I know he was. It's easy to dominate in 1A Florida football, but you get to the big leagues and it doesn't come so easy any more.
  21. So we’ve hit all of this in week one (besides fly fishing, they wanted $1k for half a day and I don’t think we have sufficient interest to justify that expense). Major Dad fail on the whitewater park-I didn’t do a good safety brief on where to exit and the kids ended up going through the wake boarding section. The 8 year old was fine but the 6 year old was terrified. Lots of great coffee options here and Silver Whisker Bakery is A+. We also had fun at the farmer’s market and Salida Art Festival. Next door in Buena Vista is Simple Eatery, which I really enjoyed as a dining out option that has healthy meals. That whole main street area has a pretty different feel from Salida, considering how close they are.
