damn, arkie double with 1 out. Didn't look like a bad pitch, just good piece of hitting.

Meant to type this up after the late March tournament in Austin, but lost track of time. I'm pretty sure I wrote something like the following… And if I didn't do it here, I'll claim I did somewhere else. There is a progression here: You learn to lose - this means you learn how to learn from your mistakes. Mistakes at all levels - on the court, lineups, coaching prep, off the court, culture You learn to win - this means you're applying those lessons learned, but you don't yet have the focus to win consistently. Therefore, you're above 0.500, but drop games you should win You learn to win consistently - At this point the only things keeping you from winning it all are players maximizing their potential, minor adjustments in strategy, and bad bounces. We saw this evolution with football the past few years. I think Metzger has this team setting foot into the "win consistently" tier. I don't think we're firmly there yet despite the ranking. A few other observations from the [looks at calendar and hangs head] Mar 21-22 weekend. Parmelly has way above average vision/anticipation. Odd to see Ava go from Ct 1 last year to 5 this year, but with all the turnover not shocking. She won't wow you with raw athleticism, but she's pretty fundamentally sound, which works well on Ct 5 where opponents tend to make unforced errors I'm sure I said it last year, but I hope Wright works on her focus because she has a lot of physical talent to unleash if she pulls it all together Coach Akers probably used the word "focus" fifty times that weekend when talking to the girls. Goes back to my point above about winning consistently. Charles has a pretty good left hand Maybe it's just me and who I have/haven't watched, but have the 1s across the country regressed this year? Asking because I'm not recalling the Kraft/VanWinkle/Maple types from recent years getting into AVP main draws I'm curious how our 1s and 2s fare against one another in practice. I'd guess they are about even? There can't be many things in sports fandom more frustrating than sitting at Ct 2, watching your team lose a point, turn to Ct 1, seeing your team lose that point, and then turning to Ct 3 and seeing your team lose a point there all in about 20 seconds. Hell, I probably saw that across five Cts the first season and I blocked it from my memory I really like the three Ct setup instead of 5. You can see more as a fan. I'm sure the coaches prefer it as they can be present at all matches. The tension builds much more with two waves of matches.. Even if one team wins 4s and 5s, you can get compelling comeback potential in the second wave. The first year, I traveled thousands of miles to watch them go 1-12. The next year, I traveled thousands of miles to watch them go 7-8. This year, I traveled thousands of miles and watched them beat the #13, #11, and #2 ranked teams all in the same weekend. On my way to Gulf Shores now to see how we cap off this season 🤘 Anyone else going?

I've never done a cruise, because I envision that I will despise the experience. I don't care to gamble, I'm turned off by food troughs, I'm annoyed by a bunch of trashy drunks, and I hate the thought of cattle call activities off the boat. However, we are intrigued by some of the Alaska cruises, and maybe the Viking cruises for olds. Anyone have any experience with the Viking olds cruises?

Do what you think is best for your kid, but there was no chance I would put my kid in at 7. He started travel ball at 10u but his coach was also his little league coach and they didn't really have games during little league season. Also, they didn't really do weekend tourneys. Just scheduled single headers with other local travel ball teams and it was awesome. But it is also rare. Assuming two games and at least a practice or two a week for LL and then a practice for travel then tourney on the weekend.... My kid would have hated baseball in about a month. I know many do it, but I honestly don't know how.

Plus, from the piggy-cheerleading that ESPN2 is already doing, I have the TV muted and have the Craig & Zonk radio play-by-play turned up.
