  2. An Oilers franchise in Houston is worth $2 billion more than a Texans franchise in Houston, just some calculations off a cocktail napkin.
  3. You're going to intentionally feed him alsup burritos beforehand, aren’t you?
  4. Why make housing more expensive for everyone to provide a benefit for only some classes of workers? If you’re doing a job in a community, that job is clearly needed by someone and it’s not obvious why those people shouldn’t also be able to afford to live close to work, too.
  5. Wordle 1,616 4/6* [emoji834][emoji834][emoji834][emoji834]🟨 [emoji834][emoji834]🟨[emoji834][emoji834] 🟨🟩🟨🟩[emoji834] 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  6. Reminds me of that old Henny Youngman line: Guy catches his wife and his best friend in bed. He says, "Bernie, I have to; but you?"
  7. It’s been a long time since I worked on this type of airplane but that looks like part of the horizontal stabilizer support. I worked on one that had a similar crack. The McDonnell Douglas engineering team was pretty freaked out by it and insisted on fixing it themselves. They said it was not very many cycles from letting the stabilizer break off.
  8. I couldn't make it after the 2nd last night so saw that highlight this AM. Badass. Man that trade looks better by the game. Do we have any idea at all on the Duchene injury and how long he's out. I know there was freak out about the move to LTIR but that was retroactive and he's eligible to come back at any time so don't think that is necessarily indicative of anything. But also not seeing any rumors about expected return and pretty sure he's not on this road trip so doesn't seem like it's close.
  9. Yes, that would satisfy my hope for pain.
  10. from Home Slice… FIGHT!
  11. Yeah, programs to help certain classes of buyers don’t do much to address the issue of prices being too high to begin with. The only way out is to increase supply and encourage efficient use. It needs to be economically not tenuous to park money in a single family home and then pay the mortgage with rent while treating the house as a long-term investment. It makes houses more expensive, it puts capital into piles of wood and shingles that aren’t making anything real for the economy. Ma and Pa investor need to be looking at index funds and business opportunities, not snapping up bungalows to extract rent. Obviously some carveouts for things like resort communities with no residents but once a certain number of single-family homes in an are become rental properties, penalties and incentives need to kick in to force sales t real people.
  12. Who is this guy, Bertrand?
  13. The Big 12 still isn't beating the "truck-stop conference" allegations.
  14. I hate to channel my inner Vic, but fuck the Hogs! TEXAS!
  15. There ya go
  16. All they want to cover and, therefore, everything they want to see is part of the political horserace. The premise of the question is, "surely you see the world as I do, that is merely blows dealt and received by the Dems and GOPs." It passes for subtlety among the meat puppets on the TV. So intellectually vacant and narrowly focused coverage of the news has, IMHO, promoted the transformation of American politics into the NFL. Particularly, obviously, for the right.
  17. Those guys would get their shit pushed in post-haste. Crazy eyes notwithstanding.
  18. Well, well, well: https://substack.com/@vilniusschoolmaster/note/c-179410223?r=3agz2m&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action
  19. Username checks out. I'd go with Whataburger if they had it here. I think I'd have to go with Jack or Sonic because of the variety and they both have breakfast too. I am really craving a good sandwich for lunch now after catching up on that thread and then being reminded of Potbelly's on this thread.
