Chase Sapphire Reserve new fees and benefits
wild_turkey replied to wild_turkey's topic in Food and Travel
I’m going to Austin for the aggy game and staying 2 nights at The LINE downtown. I’ve stayed there before and liked it, but our friends who gave us the game tickets are already booked there, so it’s also the easy choice. It’s listed for $413 on Expedia (surprisingly good price) or $645 on the Chase portal (typical price). Chase has it listed as both a points boost hotel and The Edit hotel, which means daily breakfast for 2 is included and also $100 hotel credit. Still not enough to offset the $232 price increase, but I called Chase to ask about the $250 credit for The Edit hotels, which they assure me will apply to this booking since I will be staying after my Oct 26 activation of new benefits. So I chose to book through Chase and pay $305 on my card and 17,000 pts. I will get $250 back as a statement credit, as well as the $100 hotel credit and breakfast. The breakfast is the least important perk because I like that Veracruz tacos place they have, but oh well. As a new benefit of CSR, the $250 x 2 credit for The Edit hotels is only partially helpful in this case, due to the Chase price being higher than Expedia. It would almost be a wash, except that the $100 credit helps, and the points boost helps. -
5, 3, 2, 4, 6, 1 The 80s girls look AI generated The 2025 are... worth punching in the mouth. At home, we'll call someone a koala, so say they're smooth brained if they do something absolutely stupid (yes we're kinda mean to each other that way). Pretty sure this has been posted before, but still funny.

The Band of Heathens formed 20 years ago in '05, but it was this weekend in '08 that we "discovered" them. This was the weekend that they rescheduled the Arkansas game in Austin because of Hurricane Ike, and may have been the first time a home game was played during the then 1-weekend ACL Festival. Limited hotel capacity used to be a thing in Austin. They played a day show at the Festival...we went to the game, regrouped, and looked through the Chronicle for live music. Saw "The Band of Heathens" listed as an ACL Aftershow at the Saxon Pub, and decided that sounded cool. Holy Mother of God that show was the best small venue show I've ever been to. The dudes were juiced up from the ACL show and brought the house down at Saxon. Shit I was 42 years old then and it changed (or at least fine tuned) the way I listen to music. The band has changed, grown, evolved over the years since then....but at their core, they are still the same band. They regularly play all over Texas in the Fall, and I encourage y'all to catch them if you can. https://bandofheathens.com/tour/ -

MN wasnt gonna do anything with Collier rolling around on a scooter with her leg in a boot. tough break, she was probably the MVP this year and the Lynx were doing really well. now the Lynx aura with Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus days are over....the Lynx are inching towards MN sports purgatory of bad luck.

This nose-in / backing-in debate by itself could last longer than the Quinn Ewers thread.

I will say this, having seen some damn good looking wrap jobs on the Cybertruck - the vehicle's biggest failing, for reasons beyond: Staining, Corrosion, Need for constant cleaning/polishing/maintenance, The need for specialized cleaners, Fingerprints, Smudges, Difficulties to Repair, and Appearance Variations, is the fact that you can only get it in that stupid silver. If they offered that thing in colors - they probably have a hit. The last few times I've been visiting my folks in Dripping Springs there is a red CT and an Army green CT and they look really good. I wouldn't buy one, but they aren't the eyesore that stainless CTs are. Just saying. -
Bijan is better than Barkley he just plays for a shitty team. he should hold out or not do a franchise tag or whatever he needs to do to get off this shitty ass team make it happen
