We didn’t have cable, but on a moment’s notice, when a friend (who was a Grateful Dead & Drug Taking Enthusiast) needed me to ride along with him from Dallas to Chicago so that his dad would let him take a car (Diesel, NOT Turbo Diesel Mercedes station wagon that topped out at about 62 mph), I said “Sure, I’ll go.” Arrived to Chicago on a Friday to check out the ticket scene a day before the show, then Saturday came and… 1) I saw Ryne Sandburg hit a home run in Wrigley Field followed by… 2) Harry Carey singing “Take Me Out To The Game” followed by… 3) …seeing The Grateful Dead. All on the same day. It was one hell of a Saturday in late July in 1990. R.I.P. Ryne Sandberg R.I.P. Harry Carey R.I.P. Jerry Garcia

We need some more nastiness on the interior like we had with Studdard/Sendlein. Those guys would tell the D what the goal line play was and score anyway. -
TLDR: 3 dudes assault women and a good samaritan trying to defend the women. Good samaritan gets jaw broken. Fuck theses scumbags. My money is that they are not from Austin. Yes that area of BC is a shithole. That's not the point. Fuckheads. Dude in orange shorts, dude with cowboy hat, long hair dude with green shorts.

It sucks to not land Benjamin. That guy looks good. All Dogs Go To Heaven is a movie I watched with my oldest daughter probably 20 times in a one year period. Good lord. -
That happens when you stand for nothing people need to help them in their daily lives. GOP lite creeping towards GOP proper as a brand is showing itself as one of the worst ongoing product shifts ever. Think New Coke, but if they had just kept coming up with newer Cokes every couple years rather than getting back to what worked. Fuck centrist feelings. Embrace what Mamdani stands for, which is policy innovation and/or experimentation for the people. Suck it up and take the good with the bad. Lord knows Trumpers have learned to do it. We need a vibrant and organized opposition, not a Clinton/Obama wunderkind executing yet another delaying action against the slow march of the oligarchy as it pushes liberal democracy into the sea.

I think I was 12 the first time I saw The Ring. Didn't catch it in theaters, so by the time we could rent it on VHS, the middle-school hype machine had already built it into the 'scariest movie evar'. I watched it with my older brother and sister and managed to keep my cool. They were visibly freaked out by the ending, which was a major win for my fragile pre-teen psyche. That night I fell asleep on the couch watching TV. At some point the cable went out, and I woke up at 3AM to TV static exactly like what happens in the movie before the cursed video plays. THAT freaked me the fuck out. If you've seen those videos of cats touching aluminimum foil, I imagine that's what I looked like trying to get out of my living room as fast as humanly possible. -

I could say some words about the utterly inadequate support structure that exists in the United States for mentally ill people, but if we implemented that, who would pay for all the bombs, eh?

Here is the thing about it as well, it's such a tiny issue on the whole when you talk about it the actuals (e.g. competing in sports, in everyday life, etc.) so you would think that if something that is a 1% issue is causing a 33% negative yield (or whatever it is that you account it to be from a political consultent and the loss of votes that would otherwise be there and neutering the MAGAT talking points), then shouldn't it be an issue that an embracing of should be punted until it's more politically fruitful in the name of pragmatism and winning? It reminds me of the metaphor people use about a small thing they are willing to let sink them because it's so important to them called "dying on the hill" but with the dying being losing elections.

I'm sure most of you who studied under Mr. Crisara know that he also played on Paul McCartney's "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" but did NOT play the solo, that was Marvin Stamm.

Bobby Burton Posted 38 minutes ago Today is an appetizer. Tomorrow is the meal. Today, we get to speak with Texas coaches, from all of the coordinators to the newly minted assistants, and all of those in between. ** Tomorrow, we get a first look at the 2025 Longhorns. Here are some pre-camp thoughts: - I’m betting long on Christian Clark. Something about the young runner tells me he could be a real factor this year. - I like Parker Livingstone and Emmett Mosley. A lot. Folks who discount either of them, or think they are necessarily a rung down from DeAndre Moore and Ryan Wingo, do so at their own peril IMO. I think Texas has a very, very strong first four. - I think DJ Campbell has turned a mental corner. He will be an elite player in 2025. - I also think there’s a real chance for a slight upset somewhere along the offensive line in fall camp. Someone we think is going to start may get passed or beat out. - I get the feeling Emaree Winston is going to find himself in the TE rotation, somehow, some way. His blend of athleticism, toughness and ease of catching the ball on the move is much rarer than his recruiting ranking would suggest. I’m not making the exact comparison here, but there is some Bo Scaife in Winston. - Likewise, Graceson Littleton will play this season. I don’t know how or when, but the buzz behind the true freshman is too loud to ignore. Could he leapfrog someone talented during fall camp? Or, more likely, will he see some game action early and then work his way into more snaps as the season progresses? - If you want a prediction for a breakout player on defense, I’m going with Colton Vasek. If he can stay healthy, he will effect the game as a strong-side end, especially against run-heavy teams. - Based on special teams workouts, I’m told that we should expect punter Jack Bouwmeester to be a difference maker. ** Gerry and I were asked yesterday about who would “get off the bus first” for the Longhorns. I decided to make a list longer than just one name, because, frankly, the Horns have a number of players who look different than the regular guy at multiple positions. - Travis Shaw - Trevor Goosby - Nick Brooks - Lance Jackson - Justus Terry - Anthony Hill - Jelani McDonald - Colin Simmons - Jonah Williams - Nate Kibble - Alex January - Maraad Watson - Emmett Mosley - Arch Manning - Zina Umeozulu - Ryan Wingo bobby calling out @closetojumping
