  1. Past hour
  2. That cord would be the ocular nerve
  3. Just horribly crowded. A complete mosh pit getting on then having to fight your way through hot stinking crowds to get to your seat. People sitting in the stairwell blocking access, standing around in the drink car because they couldn't get to their seats, etc. This was in the summer so it was the busy season I guess.
  4. I played in a tournament Monday at Dallas Athletic Club and saw some shit I’ve never seen before. It was a scramble and the group in front of us were terrible golfers, but at least they were slow too. I noticed on our 17th hole that one of their carts was parked really close to the green. They finish up putting and the lady just drives right across the middle of the green. Not like she just clipped the edge, she drove around a green side bunker and crossed all the way through the fattest part of the green. One of my playing partners knew the driver and called her out after the round and she tried to deny it. Brutal to see the tracks when we got up there. The greens were in fantastic shape too. #CSB
  5. Brent Venables thinks Joe Mixon is just misunderstood.
  6. Lol there's someone like 7 posts up saying they'll be at the game this weekend but they aren't looking forward to it. Then give me your fucking tickets.
  7. top tier for this thread? or the whole board?
  8. If Brent Venables looked any more inbred, he'd be a sandwich.
  9. You're right about one thing: we are utterly destroying this Republic, to the point that it is unsalvageable, FOR NO FUCKING GOOD OR SANE REASON AT ALL. If we were desperately poor and starving, I can see desperate people doing desperate things. And while we have created pretty staggering economic inequality (and wow....opting for a path that says "and let's ACCELERATE that, and create a world of billionaire oligarchs and slaves" is...a choice), we are self-immolating for no good reason at all. We just like hating other people and blaming them for everything, even things that aren't a problem (sorry, fuckheads, a trans high school volleyball player in Oregon is meaningless). But you're wrong about something similar occurring. It IS occurring. It's not just happening, it's done. Every failsafe has already failed. The damage is done. Now, we just wait for the final collapse. It will happen as these things always do: gradually, then all at once.
  10. You should move to Europe. Really get the full experience. They're ahead of us on the timeline. Actually, can you name one Muslim governed country where you would move yourself and the women in your family? You should try there. I'm guessing you can't. Because they don't have the same values as us. It's ok to say that. I'm merely a person with a vote. Are you unaware that naturalization and citizenship requires an oath. This isn't a new concept. Where did I say they're terrorists? Of course there are good people from these places, but large scale migration from them causes a lot instability and it's not just because of mean white people. Do you think in a Muslim country she would be allowed to act like that?
  11. This is a good summary of this team. I think part of the reason I'm not freaking out yet about this season in particular (and I haven't seen even close to enough to freak out about the program as a whole) is because of how crazy the variance has been this season in college football. It doesn't matter how good you are - it feels like there are legitimately 30 or 40 teams that if you catch them on the wrong week they can fuck your Saturday up. Florida is one of those teams regardless of what their record was going in and Texas found out. Hopefully Texas got a couple of losses out of the way early and can be on the right side of the coin-flips we have left on the schedule. Need to start this week. Lose against OU and barring a miracle it's a rebuild season where you probably need to make a couple changes to the coaching staff. Win this week and next week and get some momentum going and Texas is right back to being a playoff contender.
  12. Gein is a strange one. he is of course a serial killer by definition but most of the story is about the stuff he did before he started killing which isn't like Dahmer, Kemper, Green River, Bundy, etc. He's a weird case and I can see how it could be viewed as boring.
  13. A dozen senators could even reopen the government. But it's the Democrats' fault.
  14. One could argue, and I think will argue in the future, that the internet and social media have had a similar effect as several of the things you mentioned. Truth is we don’t know how this period of history is going to end, but the parallels are disturbing so far.
  15. Tan suit. Never forget.
  16. All everyone wants to talk about is how shit sucks, no one fucking shows up to any god damned events, no one wants to do shit anymore. Like what the fuck? Have some god damned fun - the fun part of this week is that it's fucking HATE WEEK.
  17. This is just so crazy scary. And they said he was from Florida…I wonder if he set any other fires before this one? I wouldn’t be surprised if he had. he needs to be charged with 12 murders. And have his sentences run consecutively.
  18. Bruce Pearl is not the only one exercising his first amendment rights. His ass is being roasted on black social media. He has made his son’s job much more challenging.
  19. No, no, it's because he wasn't "grateful" enough! To the country that so generously allowed him to be in that position! Not racist at all.....
  20. I think this is true. I would say "hope" it's true, but don't mean to imply that I hope that ICE and federalized national guard start will employ greater violence against nonviolent protestors. I'm reminded of a book I just read, King: A Life, a Pulitzer Prize-winning biography on MLK. It's fascinating in so many ways, even after I've watched numerous documentaries about King and the Civil Rights movement over my life. You talk about a guy with an unwavering commitment to nonviolence, even when violence against the Black community had escalated, and when others in the movement had pleaded for King to start physically fighting back. But one thing Brisket's comment reminded me of was how the growing video footage of Southern law enforcement, unprovoked and without mercy, physically beating protestors -- men and women, and eventually children when they started joining the protests -- that started changing the attitudes of those viewing audiences outside of the South, including JFK himself and his administration. It was the proliferation of TV sets in most American households by the 1960s, which showed more and more of the senseless beatings, fire hosings, and dog attacks against peaceful protestors, that really gave the Civil Rights movement significant momentum. Maybe Trump's invasion of the blue cities will lead to something similar. Though I'm sure plenty on the right won't see a comparison, and will chalk it up to a bunch of loser instigators in Chicago and Portland with nothing better to do, as opposed to Black's pushing for an end to segregation and the right to vote. Those folks will cheer on the pepper balls, or worse. But maybe it will start to change the minds of some folks. Not entirely on Trump, because that toothpaste has left the station. But maybe some of the more "reasonable" Republicans and right-leaning voters will push back on his overreach of executive force and power that they have let go unchecked so far. Maybe.
  21. You'll get Jose Lima and like it.
  22. Only one more season of JP3 then Correa moves back to SS, I guess.
  23. It's hard to compare the US and Nazi Germany, because the circumstances that allowed the Nazis to achieve power were very different than today in our country. The Germans were living in a time of unparalleled poverty, collapse of institutions, threats to the government by Communist elements and the humiliation imposed by the Allied powers. We are a very different story with a much more diverse mindset and our economy is strong. While Trump and his minions continue to subvert the law to achieve their goals, it is hard to imagine anything similar to the Nazis occurring in the country unless we suffer from some catastrophic event, like a disastrous war with China or a cataclysmic terrorist attack.
