  1. Past hour
  2. "He was JOKING" outrage incoming in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
  3. The two Japanese grenades my Dad brought back from the 1943 Alaska Aleutian Campaign were deactivated without any explosive materials. They were pretty cool paperweights, but I gave them to my neighbor - a BATFE explosives expert - for his collection.
  4. Cruel Summer is the best Bananarama song and #2 isn’t particularly close.
  5. Javier is out at park doing long toss on the field right now
  6. We optioned mayo for a guy that looks like he eats mayo by gallon.
  7. I think Aranda will incorporate them like henchmen. Imagine the intimidating visual of Aranda standing on the sideline with that dead-eyed vacancy in his soul while he's surrounded by a dozen smirking dwarves.
  8. Spoilered below is the Sooners Illustrated preview of the LBs/Cheetah (kind of a NB, but also a DPR). Highlights: -They lament the loss of Danny Stutsman. It's heresy to say, but I think that guy was more harm than asset. Sure he made a lot of tackles, but that's a byproduct of the defense being designed to funnel plays to the second level. He was always tackling guys 8 yards downfield. -Kobe McKenzie is average as grits. I'm glad Texas didn't land him, given the talent accumulated now at LB. He played a lot last year and did very little. -One of my picks for surprise standouts for next year is Omosigho. They've now committed him to a position and I think he'll win the most PT. When I watched them last year, I felt like he was impacting plays during limited snaps. -Getting Kendal Daniels has been kind of downplayed by all of the okies, I guess because he went to OSU first? I think it is a huge pickup and expect him to win the lion's share of snaps at Cheetah, playing the Big Cheetah version. -This could potentially be a team strength unless they're committed to starting McKenzie and Dolby. -I feel like Kip Lewis was a non-entity all year in 2024 except when some dark voodoo shit performed on the OU sidelines called for the "Defensive Touchdown Play" in desperate moments.
  9. To this day I remain gobsmacked by how many Americans don't realize that normal Presidential terms runs exactly 4 years from January 20th (21st if the 20th is a Sunday) in an odd year. It's an ODD YEAR you fucking idiots.
  10. Rain probably hurt the race more than helped as the medium/hard tire differential could have made for some interesting strategy calls.
  11. I'm high on Kruel. And Id love to have him.
  12. I’ve been on 3 grenade callouts. Each time it was wife/relative going through grandpa’s shit after he died. All 3 had been disarmed many years ago, with one being used as a paperweight on peepaw’s desk. We blew all 3 in place. Bomb tech didn’t even attempt to disarm them, and obviously if he had it would have been clear they were duds. No reason to put anyone in that position when there was nothing to gain. Not sure why these folks felt it necessary to move live shit, transport it back, and then just leave it sitting around.
  13. That’s probably because you’re a fucking idiot.
  14. I’m just sad that the left will use this to divide people. We should be able to remain friends while disagreeing about the political issue of broiling each other in mass ovens.
  15. Maybe Kreul is trying to increase the NIL offer from a desperate Bert Vegetables…. (Though, I prefer the “Kreul favors Texas” narrative, because FUCK OU)
  16. Also, on Kreul, the Sooners Illustrated gurus are now telling their audience that it feels like Texas is making a push for Kreul and, all things equal, it looks like he'd prefer Texas. Take that FWIW, as I do not think they have decent connections to the Texas side. Their providing that update based on what the Kreul camp is saying and what their OU staff connections are now whining about to them.
  17. The AZ series was fun, but it was fools gold. We've got a rotation with just 2 legit MLB-caliber starters and a lineup that routinely has more spots occupied by AAA dreck than MLB regulars. A spare tire should ideally only be on you car long enough to get to a tire shop. You shouldn't be driving around with 2 regular tires and 2 donuts for several months. Hummel starts several games a week and is arguably the worst-hitting OF to ever don an Astros jersey. He and Chas have made a combined 170 plate appearances and produced 7 RBI, accounting for -1.5 WAR. Neither should be anywhere close to an MLB roster in the Year of Our Lord 2025, much less taking 7-8 ABs a night on a team with its sights on the playoffs. There's not really any feasible scenario where this team is fixable via trade in the next few days. In some alternate fantasy world where Jake and Paredes never get hurt, Yordan comes back mid-Summer and is starting to heat up, and Pena's return is imminent, sure, go out and grab an OF and an SP and try to make a run. That ain't reality. We have probably 5 or 6 spots on the 25-man roster spots that need to be replaced, not 1 or 2.
  18. Here's Gerry's view on who can finish with the #1 class and how. Personally, I think excluding Oregon or Michigan is dicey. Either one could go on a feeding frenzy and imbalance the whole thing. As far as I know, Hiter is expected to land at OSU. Georgia does not feel bullish. On Anthony Jones, Bama seems to think they lead, last time I looked. ****** Race for the No. 1 recruiting class in 2026 The Texas Longhorns are squarely in the mix for the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle after a very strong last half of July. When looking at the teams that are truly in the hunt for the top ranked class, there six teams with a realistic shot. Those schools are Georgia, USC, Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas and Ohio State. Notre Dame is currently a top 5 level class, but doesn't have the runway to be in the mix for the No. 1 class as it stands today. While Georgia and USC have the top classes currently, they both have at least 30 commitments and don't have as long of a potential runway as Texas, Ohio State and Alabama. Texas A&M has 27 commitments, and would have to domino on a couple of top remaining targets to stay in the race. 19. Wow. Mental health
  20. crofty and martin doing their best to make this parade seem interesting.
  21. The last decade has proven the racism/prejudice of almost 100 million Americans, and the lackadaisical stupidity of almost 100 million more. I can't forget that no matter what happens, and I'm sure the rest of Americans are the same. There's no going back to pre 2016. The fruit of knowledge has been eaten.
  22. As he should
