  2. I could talk about this subject for a long time. But I will start only by pointing out that showing interest in a school is very important. It narrows your competition to an extent. We found that was definitely a factor in both our kid’s experience, one recruited athlete and one regular student. Follow the school on social media, go on an official tour (and let them know if you were there unofficially in addition), attend the online recruiting webinars for prospective students, etc. All of this helped (or hurt if we didn’t do it) in our experience.

Glimour bends are hard as shit. That's why I use them for bending practice all the time. It's not just the fact he does big bends, it's his articulation of them and his uncanny ear for microtuning. Most of his most expressive stuff is just off the note, usually a tick flat, but absolutely perfect for the particular circumstance.
  6. “He loved Bob Dylan,” Hendrix producer Eddie Kramer told Sound on Sound. “He was fascinated by the color of the lyrics and the tone of the lyrics, and of course the chord sequences were wonderful. It was a very special song.” “It overwhelmed me, really,” Dylan said of the Hendrix cover in Florida’s Sun-Sentinel. “He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn’t think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took license with the song from his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day.” In the booklet accompanying his 1985 album Biograph, Dylan added, “I liked Jimi Hendrix’s record of this and ever since he died I’ve been doing it that way . . . Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it’s a tribute to him in some kind of way.”

  9. while not as silly as posting the beatles, this one kind of stretches the concept too. that is an objectively high quality pop song...extremely well made and extremely musical. whenever someone asks about this...i always think of one more try by george michael.
  10. Seriously. How the fuck you get dinged up in shorts
  11. Based on what evidence? The available data overwhelmingly supports the notion that it is, in fact, a genocide. Support your argument with more than feels.

  15. Our counselors couldn't even get transcripts sent to the right schools. That was not a high point in our experience. I did get to see my wife chew some ass though. I just watched with my expression saying, "You fucked up. I can't help you!" In the end, the Principal ended up ripping their ass as well. They earned every fucking bit of it.
  16. Hold on to your butts boys
  17. I don’t view it as a genocide.
  18. What world is this? They're kidnapping brown people they find on the street and sending them off to foreign torture prisons with life sentences. "Gee, think this might hurt us with Latino voters??" Like, change the dates and the people and it's an Onion headline. "Hitler concerned that treatment of Jewish people may hurt the party with Jewish voters."
